I searched all the way back to the last page and didn't find a topic like this, so I figured I'd start one. :]

Over the years I've realized that it's rather easy to follow more than one story at a time, be it an anime, manga, novel, whatever. Some people can follow more than twenty series at one time, as often shown in anime/manga forums, while others--usually those who follow more complex stories--can or only want to follow a few.

Discuss:
Just how many anime and/or manga series are you following at the moment?
What is is largest number of series you've followed at one time?
What is your limit (or your preferred amount)?

As for me, I am only following three manga series (Fullmetal Alchemist, Tsubasa RESERVior CHRoNiCLE, and D.Gray-Man) and two anime series (Death Note and Code Geass) at the moment. Usually, I can read more that that at one time, but I prefer to stay at or around five. The most I've followed at one time would have to be seven manga series and four anime (I've never been one for watching in bulk. xD)

i used to follow a lot of manga and anime( fullmetal alchemist, naruto, inuyasha, a bunch of mainstream anime), now i follow...about 4( vampire knight, sayonara zetsubou sensi, hayate no gotoku, and naruto manga).
I actually think it's easier to follow a few manga than many at a time.

I'm following...a lot. It's just so many that I can't remember all of them. I'm following at least...well, on a piece of paper, I've written at 10, and I know for sure there are more. There are only about 4 that I actually really like and want to know what happens in the story and the rest is more like, well, I started this, I kind of want to finish it too.

Im not watching any anime right now...not really. As far as manga Im reading 42 at last count. (I get bored waiting for the next one to come out and end up starting a new series....) But I am thinking of dropping some b/c Im not liking where the story is going...

Anime: Death Note, Samurai 7, Speed Grapher, Inuyasha, Black Jack, Godannar, Magikano, Maburaho

Manga: Dazzle, Sakura Taisen, Mushishi, Bride of the Water God

I'm mostly into manga so I'm only following it. and I'm following way too many series to know really.. it just occurred to me that you probably meant 'how many different anime/manga are you purchasing as it comes out?' instead of what I do in reading manga online illegally.. heh. it just suits my impoverished lifestyle better than buying all the manga I'm interested in...>.<

Technically I'm following Arcana, Descendants of Darkness, Dragon Hunter, Le Chevalier D'eon, Loveless, Offbeat, Our Kingdom, Vampire Game, and XXX Holic. Plus the ones my sister has, Two of the Tales series manga off the internet and Tsubabsa from a friend. The only ones I'm actually keeping up with right now are XXX Holic, Loveless and Descendants of Darkness, Godchild from my sister and the Tales ones.

While I do support buying the series, I actually meant all the series as a whole, disregarding whether or not you buy them or read them illegally.

I'm only following two manga at the moment - Bleach and Naruto, and those I'm not really reading anymore, just keeping updated on what's going on. Bleach because I keep checking for my favorite characters, and Naruto... well. I stopped reading it about two years ago, and recently a friend was all 'Look at these cute characters!' So I got back into it, even though those characters have been dead for about 50 chapters. XD But once certain other characters die I can, and probably will, give it up again. I was also following Gantz, but that's gotten so stupid I just can't follow it anymore.

I don't think I've ever followed more than ten at a time, and that was way back when manga was still bright and shiny to me.

Oh, this is like asking me to write a book! I follow so many manga, maybe not faithfully, but I always catch up with them eventually. Like Naruto and Bleach, I don't read them every week, but every now and then, I go see what they're up to. Host Club is one I like to keep on top of. I also read a lot of yaoi manga that I usually keep up with chapter by chapter. Anyway, the list of what I'm really following and even who I'm following ^_^

+ Anima, Addicted to Curry, Bleach, Black Lagoon, Claymore, Doujin Work, Eyeshield 21, Full Metal Alchemist, Hunter X Hunter, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Moyashimon, My Barbaric Girlfriend, Nabari no Ou, Naruto, Ouran High School Host Club, Shion no Ou, Soul Eater, Special A, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, and xxxHolic. The ones in bold, I follow faithfully. The rest I just read whenever. I'll also follow anything by Kodaka Kazuma, Youka Nitta, Bohra Naono, Kasuza Takashima, Sakurai Shushushu, Ayano Yamane, Yamato Nase, or Tohjoh Asami (may she rest in peace T_T).

As you can see, I love manga.

For anime, I'm mostly following the newer spring anime.

There's xxxHolic Kei and Shion no Ou. I poke at Yakitate Japan and Eyeshield 21. But what's on my list now is Amatsuki, Kamen no Maid Guy, Library War, Nabari no Ou, Soul Eater and Special A. I'm kinda sorta watching Junjou Romantica. I'm not really big about it.

So those are mine. I actually kept this list short. There's a lot of titles on my bookshelf that I'm slowly collecting, but most of them are finished so I don't think that really qualifies as something I'm following, it's just what I'm collecting. I'm a manga-holic for sure!

To answer your question about numbers and limits, I think the list speaks for itself, I have no limits! I'm always following a large number of shows or manga.

I am following the anime/ manga Katekyo hitman reborn in manga form, and watching 'gunslinger girl' in anime form, as well as lucky star in manga and anime.

i mostly just watch naruto and shugo chara

...wow, I lost count after 20.

I have a lot of manga I keep up with both IRL and online translations. It's crazy to keep up with but, it's fun because I'll never not have something to read. :D

Err, I'm reading and watching quite alot right now, so I'm guessing I'm watching at least 10 anime and 8 or more manga ^^; This is also my personal record (I think..), but I'd rather keep it at five things at the time.

I'm watching 21 animes right now and 2 mangas... I've been keeping up with the anime I watched and finished on MyAnimeList. I was so happy to find out about that site. xD Before I was writing down all the anime I was watching in Notepad. I watch other anime while I'm waiting for the other new episodes to come out.

I read a lot of manga online, so I follow a lot. xD Probably close to 200.

I follow so many series, but many of them are already finished or discontinued, so I will say...five to ten. :)

I mostly watch anime on DVD, and mostly a whole season or series at a time. I'll get all obsessive about it, watch the whole thing, and then move on to something else. It's a time issue... I don't tend to have time to do "appointment television," where I have to be in front of the tv at a given time, but I do tend to have large blocks of time every couple of weeks or so, where I can sit and watch a whole DVD.

I am currently waiting for Ah! My Goddess! season two DVDs to show up! Curse you, slowpoke video store!

I follow a lot of manga series since i like reading manga. Currently following 10~20 series right now.

As for anime, only one and that would be Soul Eater.

I'm following.......a lot. About, like, 27 anime series and 5 manga series. The largest number of series I've followed at one time was about 50 anime series and 12 manga series. I don't have a limit. I just watch whatever I find is good for me.=3

For manga, I am currently following... a little more than ten. And as for anime, I'm following two.

Honestly, I lost count. I have like over 20 mangas I'm following and a few anime. I just finished the Ouran anime thanks to Funimation on Demand. I was sad that the subbed and dubbed was so different. Anywho, over the years I know I've lost and forgotten quite a lot of anime and manga. So I try, like most things, to keep a list >.<
