i hope you all heard that Miyazaki is coming out with a new film(his last)

it is about a boy and his goldfish!
i can't wait.
it is being released in Japan this summer, so i don't know when its comming here.
(for thoes who don't know who Miyazaki is, he did the anime films; Kiki's Flying Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, and others.

I haven't heard of this, but if its anything like the other films he has directed then it should be interesting.

Being a fan of his other films, I can't wait for this one. <3

I'm so out of touch with Murakami's work that I didn't even know there was another movie coming out soon. I'm a fan of his work so I imagine it'll be good.

I had no idea, I've never even heard of it but I want to watch it - will keep an eye out ;)
Spirited Away was the first one I watched, Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle and The Cat Returns are my favorites so far

I'm torn by this thread. Part of me is SOOO happy that he's doing another movie. I didn't know this, haha. But part of me is exceptionally sad, since you said it is his last movie. I'm not sure how old he is, but he's just so good at what he does. I'm going to miss his movies.

Really he has a new movie comming out? I had no idea!
I can't wait, though does anyone know if it's like Howl's Moving Castle where it was a book written by another person first (as soon as I have money and time I am going to read the book, the library had a copy, but it was really torn apart.

Miyazaki's films are awesome i would love to see this new one. Howl's moving castle is one of my favourites.

no this one is made by him,
it is about a boy(based after his son)
and his gold fish,(she is a gold fish princess,i've heard)
and i can't confirm it's his last film but i think it will be.

Basically, the plot is the goldfish (Ponyo) wishes to be a human. And then she meets a 5 year old boy named Sosuke. The plot is also based loosely on The Little Mermaid.

There is a new movie??? Oh I am soo happy to hear aobut this, it is something that needs to be shouted out more I feel then. I am curious how it will compare cuase some of his works are not as great as his other ones.

all his works are great, some just are not as great as others, honostly i didn't like castle in the sky as mush as his others, but it was still worth watching.
oh and about his son, i've never seen any of his works but i don't like his son much as a person, he sold the rights to many miyazaki films over to disney, but they were by studio gihbli, but oh well...-_-'

I love the movies I've seen of his. I don't normally watch anime, but when I get into the mood, I nearly always watch one of his movies.

The new one sounds like it will be so cute. I'm excited. ^3^

Done now. He is getting up there in age 9u9 But I heard he was doing something but didn't know the title of the film. I hope we get previews or word about it coming to America soon. Most likely in the next couple of months they'll start translating and voicing the film but I don't expect it to be available till next year. *sigh*
I hear his son is also doing a movie but apparently those two are on sour terms. ><

He's coming out with a new and last film? Oh my god! I would so watch it! I know Miyazaki is pretty old, but I commend him for all his past works.

You all still have Gedo Senki still that needs to be dubbed and released state side..... it has some controversy because it was his sons work and not his and some people don't feel it lives up to the others... but it was a hard project for a first time director.


But for the new one,

It has the cutest sound track they just kept playing it over and over again at Lawsons when I was there...sadly the movie came out the 19th and I left the 15th >.< So expect to see it out here well I wanna say around possibly 2012 as the other one is slated for '09. (Oddly I don't think it is translating holding it up more and english voice cast....I watched Gedo Senki subbed.)

Gurgle- Yes Howl is a book by Diana Wynne Jones, it is a rather good read if you are interested.
