Spore
Yeah, we got them in last week at work, I've been flicking through the limited edition pack, damn it looks freaking sweet xD (does that box glow in the dark? It looks like it does lol)
There is SO much stuff to do in it, Im almost tempted to get the new Mac OS just so i can play it! But then i'd never get any work done hah Anyone got it yet? Tell me what you think of it and show some screen shots! |
I haven't decided whether or not to kick myself yet.. (I'm rather pleased with spotting them.) I spent the remainder of my money on a Radiohead album and a Black Sabbath DVD, and so have to wait a fair while 'til I can afford to buy Spore. It looks very cool from what I've read/seen online so far though. ^^

I've been looking at pictures of Spore creatures people made on DeviantART and looking at videos of creatures on Youtube and I must say, the game looks GREAT! 8D
Sadly, my dad said he isn't buying it until EA gets rid of the DRM and three installs for one computer crud, so I'm bouted. TT_TT But like I said, the game looks absolutely amazing! I already have so many things I want to make even though I don't have the game. xD *counts off on fingers* The wolf form of one of my OCs, a griffin, a dragon, some sort of flight-capable creature, a few demons... XD |
DON'T get it.
It's a neat toy, yes. It's fun for awhile. But unless you like the repetitive grind of customizing a creature or vehicle or spacecraft over and over and over and over and (you get the picture) then it's not worth getting. The best phase is the creature phase, and you play it for about an hour. Then it's off to the other phases, which are simply less fun. Play it if a friend has it, because it's not worth 60 bucks. |
Spore?
I'm thinking of getting Spore, but from reviews on amazon, I don't know.
Anybody here buy it for the PC or the DS, and what do you think? =T I really need help deciding. |
Spore is ok...
it really isn't worth buying, just barrow it, because once you play through it once it gets kind of old... plus it really doesn't take that long to play, my friend played through the game about three times in about a week after getting it. i have played its not that great but if you just want to pass the time, it alright.may i suggest portal, or peggle, for a pass time game. or if you want a game with action, Team fortress 2. ^-^ i know some other good games, just ask if you care to hear them...^-^ |

so pass time games? like i said peggle, hnnn, unreal tournament 2004, sims, teeworld.com(its kirby with guns[website{free}]), diablo(the 3rd one should come out within the the next 6months),Wonderland.com(website[roleplay][free]), world of warcraft(you can play on a free server as long as you have the wow software[may i suggest Toxicwow.com]), fable(1st one is on computer and xbox, the second one is on xbox360, and might come out on comp.) thoes are all for computer, and thoes are the only ones i can think of right now, sorry^-^ |

Well i think spore is fun to play despite the reviews, i just feel they rushed portions of it, it basicly comes down to what you want out of the game and what style of games you enjoy. spore is all about designing things and such.
For example i love playing a creature through to space age but once in space age i get bored with it quickly since they expect you to take over the cosmos with one ship. I think if you have a creative side and you like playing god you would enjoy spore, but if you dont have alot of patience for games and your more into fast paced instant gratification games i would steer clear of it. |

Spore: Who has this new game?
I have heard so much about Spore, its a fairly new game and I wanted to get everyones comments before I buy it. That is the sort of game I would really enjoy but I want to get other peoples comments first before I go and spend my hard earned money on it. Thanks for any comments about this.

Depends on what your expecting when you play it really. It's got massive amount of details but alot of the phases of the game feel unfinished and rushed, i think EA was preasuring maxis to get it out too quickly and you can tell spots in the game are rushed.
Anyways the game is fun, if you like designing things you will enjoy it alot, you get to design everything from your creature to your vehicles and buildings. Additionally the game is massive in scope, the first time you get out into space you will see what i mean. That aside alot of the phases of the game like tribal and civ stages feel unfinished and more like a mini game. I also have problems with the space stage because you get one ship to take on the whole universe, you dont get to build fleets or anything, if something happens on your planet its you that has to go back and save it, no matter how advance your technology or how big your empire is. You end up feeling like a gopher alot of times but its still fun sometimes, i think its worth playing but there is no point in online content which is the only real appeal of the retail copy, your better off borrowing it or just pirating it. |
