Recommend DS and Gamecube games?

We're planning on getting a few games for Christmas, so I wanted to know what you guys would recommend. I like strategy, games like Zelda with quests and puzzle within the fighting, and I love Kirby!

Any ideas?

It seems like your taste and mine are very similar, then! XD
Hm, well, I just finished MegaMan Battle Network 5 DS last night. It was an excellent game, plus, there's a side story that you can only play once you beat the game (Plus a super-hard mode), so you still have tons to do after you beat it. =3 If you really like stredy games, any of the Battle Network games will definitely suit you. =)

Luigi's Mansion is pretty addicting, so you can always try that game out for the Game cube.

Well Castlevania for the DS is quite complicated but its fighting and there's puzzle (that whole damn castle is a puzzle!!) I'm more of a nintendogs, pokemon type of girl. Its fun and cute. I want Viva Pinata: Pocket paradise. Its lots of fun.

As for gamecube I've no idea but I'll find some and spill em out and see if you like em. If there's a gamestop near you talk to them. They'll help you out like crazy and they know their stuff.

My sister LOVES Viva Pinata! Apparently it's not on Gamecube. Also, my sister's friend works at gamestop. Castlevania...

Animal Crossing for the DS! It's an adorable little life sim game where you live in a town full of animal neighbors. You can fish, catch bugs, play the "stalk" market, and do deliveries for the other animals in town to make money.

It's my crack addiction lol But super fun and cute. Only $20 by now I bet.

Kirby Super Star ULTRA for the DS is a must have for Kirby fans.

It's a straight port of Kirby Super Star for the SNES with a couple new modes and fun minigames added. :)

We're definetly getting cursed canvas... Have to see about Super Star. :XP

As for animal crossing, I think the commercials of middle aged woman acting like it's real has irritated my mom to the point that she won't ever get it.... C'Est La vie.

I don't know about the DS, but on the Gamecube, my cousin and I used to play the heck out of Worms 3d. It has a single-player mode, but the best thing is if you have at least one other person to play against, and trash-talk with.

Well for the DS games I thought that these were pretty cool

Luminous Arc (I've got the second one, just haven't tried it out yet...the first one was fun)
Final Fantasy 3 (I enjoyed this...but leveling is tiresome)
Final Fantasy 4 (graphics are so-so...reminds me of the N64, but I found it really addicting)
The World Ends With You (I love the way it looks, the music is cool, though combat takes getting used to)
Chrono Trigger (In process of getting >.> waiting on overseas shipping)
Rune Facotry: A Fantasy Harvest Moon (I liked it, but at the same time it can be repetive.)

My look at list
Ninjatown
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
Age of Empires: Mythologies
Yoshi's Island DS (played a bit of this and it was fun)

All in all good luck finding something that you like

Thanks for your suggestions everybody! We ended up getting Zelda: The Minish Cap, Trauma Center 2 and Final Fantasy, Tactics Advance.

We didn't get cursed canvas, which makes me a little sad...

Try any Animal Crossing game, they're amazing.

I'm not sure if your still looking for suggestions, but here's mine ^^;;
For DS, it doesn't contain fighting, but it has a whole lot of puzzles in it. Hotel Dusk: Room 215. It is extremely fun.
Have you ever heard of the game Trace Memory? It's like that, except it is much, much better. Hotel Dusk is like a puzzle/mystery game.

There's also Lost in Blue and Lost in Blue 2. It's about you and another kid getting stuck on an island and you have to try and survive and get off the island. There are puzzles to build furniture, cook food, make weapons, and in Lost in Blue 2, you also have to fight off animals.
It is definitely a game of strategy since your characters are capable of dying.

If you are still looking for suggestions [ for birthdays, e.g. ], I second the recommendation of Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for the Nintendo DS.

Among my favorite DS games right now are any in the Phoeniz Wright: Ace Detective series. They get pretty hard! you really have to use your noggin!
Zelda: Phatntom Hourglass is a good one, as is Chrono Trigger.... but out of any game I have (including animal crossing) I get the most gameplay out of Civilization: Revolution

And for gamecube.... Zelda: Windwaker OR!!!! Paper Mario 1000 year door!!!!

I recommend~~!!!!
... Pokémon.
No, really, I do. v.v;;;;;;

PHEONIX WRIGHT!!!
I adore the games! They are pretty fun.
I also like the brain age games, they can be fun if you like challenging yourself.

The World Ends With You was also a good game, it has nice music too!
