Has anyone else played this game before? It'd be mostly towards Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors fans though, since it's all the characters from both games mixed together in one. There is also a sequel to the game too, and they've added new characters to the game some old ones from like Dynasty Warrior 3 the two God like characters Fu Xi and Nu Wa but they look totally different from how they used to look. It's game play is just like the two games but kinda different in a way too where you have to use 3 characters at one time switching between them to use each one. Even has the Samurai Warrior characters teaming up with the DW characters. And just like the other games very addictive in the game play even though it's just a hack and slice game.

Seems like it's been a bit since you posted this, but since no one replied, and I am quite the fan i thought I would.
Twas an awesome game...so good I imported it for my PS2 first, the re-bought it for my 360 when it finally came out there.
What makes me sad is the recent announcements of the PS3 version getting even more new characters added.
I'd pray that they came out as a download pack for the 360, but I doubt I could get that lucky.

The activity -or lack thereof- in this thread makes me sad.
This game is so incredibly entertaining.
Frustrating, but entertaining.
I love the mix of the two games helps it from getting too extremely monotonous.
There's a lot of new things in this game that I find enjoyable; like leveling up.
And getting fourth weapons is definitely very difficult.

I have yet to play it, as I can't afford new games right now. But I love my Samurai Warriors for the psp, and have watched my brother play Dynasty Warriors so much that I might as well have been playing it for years. (I had a copy of DW4 - but it got stolen!)

So, I can say that even though I don't have it yet, I'm a fan? :XD

It is enjoyable to an extent. Unfortunately with every KOEI game I am usually left wishing there was more to it.
For some background, I am addicted to SRPGs and JRPGs (mostly SRPGs though) and I absolutely love turn-based strategy games with a lot of customization, and a lot of strategy and different ways of going about the games but at the same time a significant challenge.

Unfortunately though the Dynasty/Samurai Warriors/Orochi/Gundam series are great hack and slash games, it is just that and only that. Once you have played one of them you've pretty much played them all. The real thing that got me into Dynasty Warriors series was because I am an avid fan of Romance of the Three Kingdoms having read the book (english translated) and read other similar books and interpretations of Sun Tzu's "The Art of War".

However with Warriors Orochi I found that the Orochi King himself was rather disappointing. I expected a much more intense battle, but I ended up more or less just running around stabbing him, then running around some more.

I do wish the various series had far more customization and more strategy involved. I don't know, I just feel that way.

I love Warriors orochi. I have been a fan of the dynasty warriors series for years now, so having them mix in a war with the characters of Samurai warriors was a really cool idea, in my opinion. When I have spare time I like to play that game for a good hour or two, it is rather addicting sometimes haha.

As to the new character designs of Nu Wa and Fu Xi. I was rather disappointed. I mean don't get me wrong they are marvelous outfit designs but I'd much more prefer playing with their old costume designs. Especially since Nu Wa has always been my favorite character since se cam out in Dynasty Warriors 3. Though I also preferred her stabbing like musuo(Pretty sure I spelled that incorrectly) rather than her current slashing side to side.

But for now in Warriors Orochi my team is Nu Wa, Da Qiao, and Masamune Datte.
Sometimes Masamune Datte, Da Qiao, and Da Ji.

I've been thoroughly addicted to Musou Orochi 2 - never played the first one, but when they added Taigong Wang in 2, I knew I had to have it XD;; The crossover aspect of the game is a lot of fun, even if the storyline is sort of contrived and often leaves me like, "... wait, what?"

I, like Darek, also got into Romance of the Three Kingdoms and other Chinese literature through the Dynasty Warriors series, and the addition of the immortals in Musou Orochi makes me wish Koei would put out another newer Battle Houshin game.

Overall, though, I think Koei comes up with some mindbendingly awesome character designs in all their games. Gameplay might be repetitive from game to game, but I say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it =X
