I have so many Gaia accounts I couldn't name them all anymore. I stopped giving my mules good items after my account got hacked and I lost my Gwee...it was a sad day...a very sad day indeed. My main account is dark_elf123, I REALLY need to change the name. I've been on the site on and off since 04 or 05? I don't like it much anymore. It feels too cluttered and I don't like the cash shop. Personally I think that was the downfall for Gaia or at least my love for it. I was a beta tester for ZOMG but I was very disappointed with the game. -sigh- I like Menewsha much better although I still miss Gaia from time to time. I think I'll edit this and post my avis. >.<

I've never been hacked on Gaia and I've been there since 2007. I've made over 20 accounts there and more than half of them have gotten banned. I have 7 left now. My mains have been banned like 2 times and I had a Cloud on both of them. I can never leave the site. I also wish menewsha could have a chatterbox forum with gold granting enabled. I like spamming there.

I still like to go on the market place and buy and sell on there but now they have that two percent tax which makes it a bit more of a challenge. I'm glade they don't have a chatterbox here on Menewsha. It would be way too easy to make gold and the quality of chat would go south fast and the inflation would just go insane on this site since the amount of gold that you get from a post doesn't go down like it does on gaia. I think that is one of the biggest reasons that the forums on this site are of the quality that they are. It keeps the quality of conversation pretty high in my humble opinion.

I'm actually a fresh recruit from Gaia as a matter of fact. Your right, I was a marketeer and i've watched the values of items go insane over the last year and the gold value drop drasticaly.
No one really posts in the gaia forums for Gold however and I'd imagine that yes that is why there is such a quality difference as this site actually encourages long explainations and literate posts.
Point of fact the thing that has ruined Gaia the most is the Cash System. While sites like this have the same system Gaia had built itself a comfortable pecking order with its Monthly Collectibles. Now with the Addition of the Cash shop and such expensive items people are selling them at high prices and the Gaian gold granting system simply can't keep up with it all making the currency rate Drop.
2 years ago an item you could buy for 50k is now between 150-200k.

The problem with the gaia economy is not the cash shop. It is booty grab! Booty grab gives you tons of gold and does not have a limit. You can make 100 or 200 thousand on it a day easy. There is your gold fountain spitting out tons of gold.

On menewsha, you have a 250 gold game cap and monthly items have stayed the same price for a year.

The fact that the monthly items have stayed the same price for a year is not good though :sweat: I mean it's great that they're the price that they are now compared to what they used to be. They stayed at 250 gold each for well over year, but the fact that the current price is stagnant is part of the reason why the site makes no money. Natural inflation is well, natural, and healthy, it's not good for a site's economy if item's prices never rise, as ours is proving :sweat:

But a lot of that is down to the very twisted thinking of some exchangers, who treat the price guide as some kind of bible and berate people who set their prices higher than those in the guide.
The guide is nothing more than a record of previous sale prices that people can use as a starting point, I'm rather confused as to why some people seem to think that it's wrong to try and sell for more than what the guide states :?

But to get back on topic <.< >.> I think that a lot of Gaia's issue is that you can make your fortune on there with no need for any user interaction at all. Though I may be wrong. But when you don't need to post on the forums to earn, and indeed, when a site's posting earnings fall off to nothing after a relatively small amount of posts, and many of the forums are full of spam, it's not really any wonder that people resort to Booty Grab and so on to make their gold.

Man, I don't see how anybody could even stand to stay on Booty Grab long enough to make 100K.

i totally agree booty grab is annoying but who could really stay on any of the games to earn that much. i mean sure Zomg is a fast way to do it ...but its annoying getting ambushed or just walking around(the avatars move kinda slow to me)

i love my gaia, but i never play zOMG or lots of the other games, just because i dont have time after socializing on towns and designing and redesigning my avatar and shopping xD i love shopping... but i cant figure out how to play booty grab! it wont start for me!!!

They came out with a new interactive animated item. *0* I got it right away. It's called the Jellypop. It has bubbles around your avatar, and if you hover your mouse over them, they pop!

You're absolutely right, the quality of the items are not as good as they used to be and the cash shop has had a huge part in ruining gaia. I think Gaia could learn something from this site.

I have a Gaia, but after coming here... I don't care much for it anymore! Mene is so organized, literate and friendly. Gaia is just a bunch of little kids wanting to cyber. I agree with above poster, Gaia could learn something from here. If you want to add me, my username is Twizzlerr.

Now don't be too quick to say all of Gaia is little kids and want to cyber . I'm 25 and always report cyber ers . Mene is nice but doesn't have any threads of the shows I like.

I'm 18 and I don't cyber, so Gaia isn't all that. Just sayin'.

I'm not saying everyone cybers on gaia, it's just rampid on the site. Then again Menewsha doesn't have a towns where it would be difficult for moderators to catch people who were to cyber. I don't get on gaia a lot these days, however I logged on to one of my mules and lo and behold, I had eight sealed envelopes from February of 2009 I have going for at least one hundred and thirty thousand gaia gold, which really isn't a whole lot of gold on that site anymore.

I think it is impossible anymore to get any 2003 donation items and some of the earlier 2004 items.
