Really considering ridding myself of my Gaia entanglements for art commissions in return. If I don't think it'd be against the rules of both sites, I'd make a post here to that effect. :P

To me, there isn't such a thing as a bad avatar site as long as your experience
is still good.

I haven't really had any bad experiences on any avatar site
so I kind of love all avatar sites.
Making avatars and dream avatars is a passion of mine so as long
as I can enjoy that then I am a happy camper.

I am a millionaire on there but once I get better and faster at my artwork
I am going to make an art shop on there.
Hopefully my art will go for decent pay either in items or gold.
I have so many items i still need.

the go fusion thing has helped a lot with getting items.

I found out this evening that Lanzer has just switched to working from home and dropped working on the tentcl projects he was on. Yay! Less of tencl parasiting gaia is a good thing.

I mean, it'd be against the rules to make a thread here on Menewsha saying I'll purchase art in return for Gaia gold/items. ;) (Last I checked - which was probably 2007 - it was against the rules.)

Though I suppose it might work to make a thread directing people to a thread on Gaia so I can support Menewsha people on Gaia instead. I'd have to read the rules and ask the Mods what they thought if it's not covered.

I still go on Gaia, mainly to play zOMG and post in the guilds that I'm a part of.
But even now it's becomming difficult to play zOMG because everyone lags so much!

I couldn't get zOMG to load at all the last time I tried to play it ._.

jellysundae: They're doing some maintenance stuff with zOMG last I heard, and it was supposed to last for a little bit. (I hope you don't mind the ping. ^^')

I don't mind at all! So the rumour of zOMG being scrapped is likely to be so much hot air then!

I don't know. They meant to fix up Frontier Skies, but scrapped it when that proved to hard to do without tons of effort and a total rewrite. I hope the same thing does not happen to zomg.

Hmm that's right, isn't it? I forgot about that.

Staff saying that Frontier Skies was going to be a permanent game, and then promising to bring it back after it was fixed, when it was scrapped anyway, was what caused people to be so skeptical about zomg.

What made me skeptical was them making items that fall outside of their own ToS and banning people for using them

Gaia has items like stripper poles and sexy police officer items and other various clothes removing items that let users make some highly suggestive avis but will ban you for them.

Yeah, I still have trouble believing this actually happens, I mean...seriously?!

They've banned people for less

Gaia has some of the worst mods so....no surprise there.

Definitely... but if you make an item and know it is suggestive when you make it, how can you ban people if you still have it and still sell it and they are indeed making sexually suggestive avatars... smh

Because they're only in it for the money. blasting their users with advertising. they make enough money to remove all of those ads.

Because they can ban users who are addicted to paying for GC and force them to make a new account to buy more.

I'm glad I haven't been to gaia since I left in like 2009! Sheesh. Or at least that I can remember.

So I just looked at an older email of mine which I use for my production company and well...I get my Gaia emails on this account because...yeah...

They have a Halloween event where you have to buy GC to get stuff?! You're not supposed to force people to spend money to get items but entice them to spend it and get something. Especially if it's for a annual event.

SRSLY, have they become that much of sellouts that Gaia can literally be acquainted to a prostitute with not a care in the world? Man, them sponsored items and events put them down a dark path.
