The grey Rufus ears + tail, Moria wig, and Ruby's bonnet look nice.
|
Angel, Im with you 100% on that statement. The RIG's are very close to scam items when you think about it. You pay real money for an item that has a 75% likelihood of giving you a pixelled item that has been on Gaia since 04' and a 25% chance of something new - 10% of which ends up being a really cheap item and the rest inflated to insanity :|
And CK - that's another thing! Gaia spends a decent amount of time on the items we shell out on average 3 dollars for (Cheapest items are 49 cents and most expensive are 749 / 999) but the free items it offers nowadays suck to no end. Even the MC's have crashed. Its incredibly irksome >: |
I found out about the items being generated from it an hour or so ago... Thought about it and shelled out 1,000 gold for the Rufus Tail + Ears. I love that kitty or generally any kitty, and the price seemed very reasonable to me.
The Moira wig is nice and probably the bonnet, but I'd never use it or any of the others. I'm trying to tell myself to invest, because hey - rare items! - but with as relatively easy as it is for people to get these items, it'd be a long time before the investment paid off. I agree that the random items are close to a scam. It'd be one thing if they were like the trunks or other free random items. But when I pay money for something, I want to know what I'm getting. I don't like taking chances. I wouldn't even buy a first generation evolving item if I didn't think the items in the first evolution stage were worth whatever price tag they tossed on it. What if I disliked or was indifferent to everything else in the evolution stage? And so was the rest of Gaia? Then I'd be stuck with a dud item not worth very much gold. :/ I think their item quality overall is rather weak. Their Evolving Items are the top of the line for them, and even then they're sometimes weak. :/ I do like many of their items, but it's difficult to get me to part with my actual cash. And since the site overall doesn't appeal to me enough to stay around and invest time into it either, it's really just not... fun. So I'm even more picky about what I spend on. ;p |
I played Gaia a few years ago - and y'know, I liked it a lot. I pop in every now and then these days, and I just laugh at it. I'm in the process of trading all my old donation items for art.
Gaia's going under, whether the staff accepts it or not. When your mission becomes quick profit, dying out is inevitable. |
I've got no issue with this latest goldsink, they definitely needed one and it's a fun concept. Though I'm not sure how much of a sink it really is as it's just producing another batch of rare items to inflate like crazy, depending on how long it runs for and how many end up in the system.
|
I don't like any of the items except the Rufus Cosplay, and even that I'm sure I won't use often D: Oh well, I donated for them all anyway, even though it would have just been cheaper to buy them in the Marketplace xD
Ugh, they nerfed the Overseer prizes again -___- I keep getting 100-200 gold prizes. I mean, I'm glad they not giving out 10k sellback commons or old Cash Shop items every day anymore, but I would like for it to at least be worth my time to take care of my aquarium xD; Right now it's just not worth it. |
Yeah, the Rufus Cosplay was about the only item I liked. I payed for all of the others too though, as well as two of those SOS signs...
There are so many of those chance items and boxes nowadays I barely know (or bother getting to know) any of their names anymore -_-; |
I just wish there was a way to get rid of the crap you got from the overseer, I don't want all that Nautilus shite cluttering up my inventory/storage ._.
I noticed the cash dividends from it had dropped, mine were just getting good on my main, too! Typical xD |
I have such a hard time getting rid of the overseer junk. Some of the items have like 20+ pages of the items listed at 1g so it's no wonder they're so hard to sell =___= they should just give us the option to throw them away or something, or at least sellback even if it's a 1g sellback, not gonna get any more than that in the market anyway xD
D: I really, really want the Cockerel's Waltz item from the new Suspicious Package. I love the hair in it xD It's like 200k though >>; |
Yeah, they seriously need a discard option, like Neo has.
|
I usually just get rid of all the unwanted items in my inventory by donating them to charities or opening a junk giveaway. It's kinda surprising how many people want those things. >.>;
|
I don't want to have to go to that much effort, I just want rid xD
|
lol Yeah, that would be pretty convenient xD
I think Gaia's been developing that idea for a while now, since so many people suggested it, but knowing Gaia, it'll probably be another year before a trash bin'll actually be designed and carried out. >__> |
You'll probably have to buy it from the cash shop >_>
|
I love how gaia is advertised as free and yet all the 'shiny' items that it brings out cost money and if you can't donate you have to shell out masive ammounts of gold and time. I wish that the items that they put into the stores each month where nicer as well. Now I don't even bother to look at the announcments to see what has been done.

I don't mind 'shinies' being in the cash shops, I would just like the site to be fun. All the fun has been sucked out of it. ._.
|
This newest "event" is very strange.
Do they do this sort of thing often? |
I just don't get what the benefit is... what's the point of donating gold to the shops?
|
It's supposed to be a gold sink to combat inflation from booty grab and etc.
They did one in the summer of '07, and I think one in '05 - but I wasn't a member then. In '07 you bought some ingredients from a shop and gave them to an NPC, along with some gold, and got a broach. There were two different ones, and you could wear one to show your support of one side or another. In '05, Gambino asked for donations to rebuild his mansion. |
If you give 1000 gold to the shops, they give you something back.
I don't know how much that stuff is worth, but it's gotta be something. |
...Why don't they just use the saveing shops to donate the prisoner pants? D:
|
Both Gambino and the Sisters (can't remember their names) did a petition to rebuild their mansions and you were given a sign with the Gambino sign on it and they had a V broach for the sisters.
At least that is what I think it was, I can't remember exactly |

Quoted for pure win. The items aren't exactly rare - and the system will get pretty flooded with them. I wasn't overly impressed by them either =.= However, I am in a way grateful for this gold sink - it finally tipped me off of my perch. I've been sitting on the fence with Gaia for ages and contemplating leaving. The day before the gold sink came out I'd discussed this with my one Guild partner and a regular roleplaying friend. On the day it came out, I had just finished centralizing all my items and gold from my various cosplay and roleplaying mules into my two main accounts. I was seriously contemplating a leave and then...that was the final push. So, after some discussion with my Guild partners and regular roleplay friends I've decided on an official move to Menewsha and Avaricia. Gaia is done for me. However, Im not 'officially' leaving Gaia until roughly January first or so, because I intent to hold a series of auctions to get rid of all my items and gold in exchange for art of my OC's xD Which, of course, will take a good amount of time since I do want some decent art. It seems to me a decent trade off for all the time and (sadly) money I've spent on Gaia over the past few years :3 |
I was on Gaia earlier wondering if I should permanently leave as well, but a few friends managed to persuade me not to...yet.
I'm still wondering if I should give away all my stuff if I ever truly leave though. I'd like myself to be fully clothed even if I don't log on anymore xD |
