ah that really sucks ferra :( i hope we got it done in time to stop, but i think we just missed >.<;

Do they give any compensation to losses or anything? i highly doubt it though :(

Ferra 05-19-2009 01:27 AM

I'm fine now since my friend donated to me way more than I ever lost. XD <3

But I hope you have better luck in getting your stuff back!

We could set things up like that here, but it seems plain stupid to me, so all of our mods are Global. Totally rediculous to have a report come in and not be able to deal with it because you don't have permissions for the forum it's relating to. Especially if it's something bad like a porn troll, and all you can do is sit and look at it until someone who mods that forum or an AA gets on : /

I really do NOT see any kind of sense in restricting the areas where a mod can do their job. Assigning them forums is only sensible, but preventing them from being able to mod anywhere else is beyond stupid.

It really does seem like those kinds of sites are just cutting their arms off. You would have to have a fair few mods just to control individual forums so that there is one on for most of the time that can keep it free of spam and other such undesirables ...
This just made me think, if gaia has a system similar to those sites I wonder how hard it must be to keep the GD and CB free of all the nasties o.0

Ferra~ I hope that never happens again, I have never been hacked on gaia before but I would feel horrible if someone managed it. Would remind me of when someone stole my poke'mon cards in grade 4 Y.Y

Sigh, I truly wish they would do something about the downvoting in the arena's...One of the things I love most on gaia, is tekteking and making avatars (the other ones are art whoring & betting FYI).
Having a limited amount accounts would certainly help get those mules away from voting in the arena's, that and raising the entry fee... I really wanna see some nice entries placing for a change... :o

Guivre 05-19-2009 07:43 PM

I'm surprised they did a peacock item what with that urn or whatever it was that already had peacock poses. But I love peacocks, so can't complain.

And that Skittles Daily Chance is gone, so that's better.

Edit --

I feel like I promote too much by saying the brand name above, but otherwise my post would make no sense. ; ;

Macabeak 05-19-2009 08:24 PM

@ Hime: Yes! I'm getting so sick of down-voting! The one time I entered the arena (sometime in February), I was doing pretty well in the arena - staying in the top 20 pretty steadily, and by the end of Saturday, was in the 9th place slot.

On Sunday, I dropped three ranks, which made me shrug and go "oh well", but nothing too bad. An hour later, I was out of the top 100. -_-;; *was piiiiiiiissed* I'm not even saying my avatar was uber-amazing, but that kind of downvoting was RIDICULOUS. It clearly had malicious intent.

jellysundae 05-19-2009 09:49 PM

The opposite is just as bad too. If you go through the past winners it's clear that some people only won by getting a lot of people to vote for them, because their outfits were rubbish!

Guivre 05-19-2009 09:54 PM

That's really too bad. At that point I would just stick to the Avatar forum. ._.

Macabeak 05-19-2009 10:45 PM

@ jellysundae: Yeah @[email protected];; Of course, looking at the numbers for some of them, I think that they got in there because of the downvoting - the downvoters seem target all of the people that they think will win, make them drop like flies, and leaving the icky or so-so ones that escaped their attention.

@ Guivre: That's what a lot of people are doing now, actually, heh!

Antagonist 05-20-2009 07:11 AM

I remember seeing some threads in the Chatterbox at times that pays people if they would vote high for them in the arenas. So basically, most of the winners only won because they threw a bunch of gold to people to vote for them, not because of their crappy-ass outfits. :|

xuvrette 05-20-2009 10:12 PM

That just sounds like politics....
politician use money strategy to get votes...

jellysundae 05-24-2009 11:33 PM

What does everyone think of the latest sponsor run feature-for-gold, then? Verizon's message in a bottle. It's a cute idea, but the vast majority seems to have no idea what to put xD

Angel Spirit Girl 05-25-2009 02:00 AM

*In Soviet Gaia, box chatters you!*

Antagonist 05-25-2009 09:47 AM

*gapes at the amount of gold in Angel Spirit Girl's bank* o____o Wow...that's the largest amount I've ever seen on Mene so far.

Jeannesha 05-25-2009 01:29 PM

The new Verizon bottle is an interesting concept. The 250 gold you get when the bottle comes back isn't bad either!

I think that people will start warming up to it, and hopefully will start being a little more creative with what they put in...

Knerd 05-25-2009 02:56 PM

So I just started playing Zomg! this weekend, and I have to say that it's addicting.
It's nice to be able to sign on and just smash things for a while.

It makes me thankful that I never started playing World of Warcraft or other MMOs. I have the feeling that I'd be sucked into them right away.

Jeannesha 05-25-2009 03:30 PM

I like zOMG... but it irritates me that some of the battles have to have a crew to win. That means I have to be friendly with people...and when I'm on a game like that, sometimes I just don't feel friendly.

Antagonist 05-25-2009 04:12 PM

I agree. That's one of my major problems when I'm playing zOMG as well...other than having to crew up with people, I also hate how every time I click, my avatar goes off towards a completely different direction. Wtf? :-x

Also, I still don't understand the concept of G'hi and Null fragments...or did they take the Null fragments out the game?

Knerd 05-25-2009 04:25 PM

I've just been ignoring G'hi. Whatever it is, it can't be that important or they would have put a better explanation in the Help section.

But one thing has bothered me is the point-and-click fighting style. If I want to attack a creature, I have to click on it first. This can be very, very hard with a slow computer or with other people around you. My avatar usually ends up running all around the screen before I actually get the monster I want and can start attacking it.

Jeannesha 05-25-2009 04:52 PM

Hit the ` or Q key, Knerd. That highlights one of the enemies. You can keep hitting it, and it will cycle through all the enemies on the page.

I think somebody told me they've done away with null fragments, Fading.

jellysundae 05-25-2009 05:37 PM

I don't really get the Gh'i thing either. I think that if your meter is full, it benefits your stats in some way. I know it keeps your HP at their maximum when you recharge. If your gh'i is on zero, every time to charge back up to full you lose a point I think. But you just need to pop back to Barton for a few minutes to boost yourself up again.

I am never going to complete all the quests because I hate crewing, and aren't nerdy enough to have spent time studying what rings and so on that I need for the boss levels. So I'll just pass tose by.

I've so far abandoned Kat's Doll, any of the ones in the cave in Bass'ken lake and the Hive. It annoys me that they've nerfed the CL levels for some quests, and you just cannot do them if your CL is too high.

I think it would be a bit more fair too, if you could solo the bosses with a high CL, but had to be below their set limit for a crew. I suppose my main issue is I just don't bother with buff rings. But like I said, I haven't studying them enough to know what's good and what isn't.

I got a meat ring on the last account that I started with, I like that! I'm keen to see how much of a huge health increase that gives when you have full rage D:

I'm just starting playing today on my fifth account, and I'm learning more each time I start anew. For example, the rings I have on my first account are rubbish xD and because I salvaged the ones that I didn't like, I now have none on that account that are a low enough CL for me to be able to go gnome or garlic stomping and pick up any better ones ;_;

So I now know to not ditch any rings until I get more than two of them, so I can upgrade one as I go, keep one for farming on lower levels, then ditch whatever others I get for orbs.

But yes, it is good fun, I wish there was a mute button for the music though, because it's quite irritating on some levels xD

Ferra 05-26-2009 01:09 AM

@Jelly: But you can just suppress your CL and go farming at any time. :0 I have only one of each ring, but I usually take my set of CL 10 rings and suppress them to a low CL and then go farm with the same results as having low rings.

I agree that they did a really lousy explanation of G'hi. The way I understand it is that you gradually earn bonuses by playing the game that increase health, accuracy, etc. If you're G'hi is at 100 then all of those bonuses are functioning at 100%. If it's at 45, then it would be 45%, etc. To refill your G'hi you either have to crew with 4+ people and stay close or go back to Barton (which is the fastest method). A crew of 2-3 will slow the rate of G'hi loss, but you still lose some.

Captain Howdy 05-26-2009 05:59 AM

I've never gotten what the G'hi is about either. So I say, meh. I hate too that you have to crew up for certain battles. I beat that big rubber tire thing by myself. What it's called? The OMG or WTF or LMNOP or somethin'? I forget. Point is I beat it, just me, myself and I.

And I was kinda disheartened that you can't be over 4.1 to take on Kat's Doll, which means you have to crew up. What about us loners living on the fringe of society, Gaia?! What about the socially awkward and those with an inherent ire for other people?! What about the good times?! For god sakes, Gaia, what about the good times?!

*takes deep breath*

Jeannesha 05-26-2009 01:27 PM

Stupid Kat's doll.

Even crewing doesn't help. I had 3 people with me, and we still couldn't beat it. I just gave up...

Ferra 05-26-2009 04:28 PM

Really? o__o; Maybe they beefed her up since I last played, but I only fought her once and beat her the first time. I was with a crew though.
