@Ferra: That's probably what they thought. I don't tend to clutter mine but I guess it's just the items I do have. I like this tho where you have to work to get gold and what you have to say counts for that rather than how many times you post. I'm a Quality over Quantity type of person.

Ferra 07-30-2009 06:26 AM

Well that was "back in the day" so to speak. Now I've worn the same outfit for quite some time and I don't post all that often. I'd like to think my avatar employs quality over quantity, but I suppose I did use some fairly valuable items on it.

Wulfwynn 07-30-2009 06:30 AM

That's a good one. I'm almost always changing my avatar. Might be why they think I'm "rich". I must say I do like Menewsha's option to wear more then one pose of an item at one time. Much easier than having to own 3 of the same thing just to do one look.

My favorite being this one so far...

Renie Winters 07-30-2009 06:39 AM

i agree with you wulfwynn it would certainly be a bit better that way

Antagonist 07-30-2009 01:57 PM

Wow, that avatar looks awesome! I've been wanting the Armor, Wolf, and flying-dragon thing, but when I checked up on them in the Marketplace they were waaaay out of my reach. It takes me forever to get 5k and those items are all 30k minimum. By the time I save up for something, they'd have probably inflated another 10k or more.

One of the main reasons why I stopped being serious about Gaia...I'm never going to get anywhere since I don't spend cash on the site, so I'll just sit with my pile of ol' stuf that I got before the prices became so insane. -sigh-

blaze of ice 07-31-2009 02:20 AM

Ugh... inflation on gaia has been getting a bit out of hand, I agree. ): Though some of the older items have come down in price, the newer ones can cost a fortune... And the prices can sky rocket over night. D: It's a very unpredictable economy on there right now...

Anyways... I've been a member of gaia since 2005. I kind of miss how it was then... but I guess everything changes eventually. ^^;

And this would be my main account.
http://a2.cdn.gaiaonline.com/gaia/me...9366f_flip.png

And these are my most used mules. :3
http://a2.cdn.gaiaonline.com/gaia/me...3a01c_flip.pnghttp://a2.cdn.gaiaonline.com/gaia/me...e9e11_flip.png

I have 8 other mules... but they're mostly to fill up the friend list spaces on the second of the above mules profiles... She's my profile making mule... Though I haven't made a profile in ages. xD

Elirona 07-31-2009 05:08 AM

Ugh, this site was so addicting. I'm glad I actually got around to quitting. >>; Good thing too, I gave them so much money it's not even funny. After they issued the "Sponsored Offers" system, it sort of went downhill for me. :/
I remember the most I was worth was 14m, with an Angelic Scarf at my disposal. xD but I ended up selling it a few days after I got it because I'm a greedy bastard. The first avatar I ever quested was this one:
http://public4.tektek.org/img/av/090...07/eae8105.png
back when I was a lowly noob, in 2006.
I've gone through three accounts, my first being Brains1123. x] Nooby name was nooby.
My second was dltrndrgn, which was hacked.
My third and richest was... I think the first name I started out with was Chief Officer Yagami (Death Note phase. >>; ), Then I changed it to Faggotory Fun, then to Mighty Morphin' Horse Dong (xDD), then, finally, to Cool Milk.
My avatar before I quit:
http://public4.tektek.org/img/av/090...15/15e6463.png
All the stuff is still there, but like I said, I'm so glad I quit this site.

Wulfwynn 07-31-2009 05:09 AM

@Fading: Thanks. :) It took a while to get it. Lots and lots of playing booty grab. I know one guy over there can pull in 10k a day on some of those tanks. I also don't spend cash on the site. I only have what I have from selling older stuff that went up in price I didn't use anymore.

Antagonist 07-31-2009 06:08 AM

I rarely sell my stuff, which is why I'm always so poor in gold  I used to have an account worth about 4 mil (the last time I checked, which is about a year ago), but it got banned and of course Gaia had to be an ass about it and ignore my appeals. I have four other accounts, but I've stopped being serious about it and ceased a lot of my questing, while many of my friends also got banned and etc. But the last straw was when two of my very good friends on there got banned. It was just too disappointing; the impression Gaia has been giving me is that they're randomly throwing the banhammer around just so that they can seal away the rich users, so that the ones who spends money on the site and are addicted to the site will return under a new account, then in an attempt to regain their items, spend more money. Not a very good impression that's making.

Sorry if I offend some users who like the site...I've been disappointed too many times and I don't see Gaia trying to improve themselves much except create more items to get people to pay for them. :(

Wulfwynn 07-31-2009 07:54 AM

I've got no problems with it. I can understand where you're coming from. I've lost a lot of friends that way. I try to keep myself under the radar and have been lucky enough to keep the same name there. I change out my avatar so often I'm always selling and buying at least once a month. My problem came in that almost all of my friends from there are gone. I've got about 3-4 people who talk to me regularly now. I wanted to find someplace where I could make more friends and have lots of people to talk to. That's when star told me about Mene. I've made 1 friend in 2 days. I'm doing good! XD

Jeannesha 07-31-2009 03:47 PM

I'm disappointed in Gaia. I would like to see them do something with the Towns.
I think they've beefed up the aquarium enough now... Booty Grab is actually pretty fun.

BlackMage KaiheiTsukiredi 07-31-2009 03:53 PM

I like Gaiaonline a lot, but I hate how they sponsor every single thing. I'm also a little peeved that they started the security thing with the e-mails (I have a couple of accounts, three including role playing, and I'm afraid to lose them all). I guess I have to make other e-mail accounts and keep them active (I have forgotten my mule's e-mail account's passwords).
Anyway, what really ticked me off was that free Gaia cash thing where you had to sign up to a sponsor and earn that free gaia cash. I signed up two and I got hit with trojan. Not only that, but I still haven't gotten the Gaia cash I was "promised" to get (unless they closed that already, I don't read the announcements I just glance at them).
Other than that, I'm pretty much happy with Gaia.

blaze of ice 07-31-2009 06:48 PM

I hate how they sponsor everything too... My friend and I actually had a good laugh over the Venus Razors ad... xD I usually ignore those though, and I mostly just go on there to talk to what few friends I have left on there, and post in a few rps. Most of my friends on there either have been hacked, banned, never go on anymore, or never talk to me anymore. xD;

I'm kind of glad I found this site... because it's a nice change from gaia. :3

Shion Uzuki 07-31-2009 08:22 PM

Well, sponsors really do help pay the bills, and... the Venus razors different than sponsorships from movies or TV shows. Plus it's relevant to my interests: My darn hairy legs! So I don't really mind if it helps keep the site functioning and pays their employees. But at times it can be a bit frustrating and annoying. :/ It's a necessary evil. I tend to hang out on smaller sites when I have the time though.

lyds1713 07-31-2009 08:41 PM

Gaia is kool, but I don't get on much anymore. I think both Manewsha and Gaia are both kool websites.

Yui_Chan 08-01-2009 08:39 AM

I'm from Gaia.... and I gotta say they're more lively. This site is kinda...dead:sweat:

CK 08-01-2009 10:37 AM

In comparison, perhaps. But we've got a lot of kick in us if you know where to look. :)

The "Spy" feature, for instance, on the blue bar at the top of your screen, will let you see in real time where people are posting.

MermaidUnderSea 08-01-2009 04:12 PM

Wowzers, spy is cool

I just came to this site from Gaia. I love my accounts! I have 2.

One is my main http://a2.cdn.gaiaonline.com/gaia/me...067126_6.00_01

The other I use for my manga updates.

Luzzy 08-01-2009 09:47 PM

Just got here a couple of hours ago from Gaia ((well, really Tektek, but I was looking up prices for items I wanted to sell)).
I love Gaia.
This is my main at the moment:
http://a2.cdn.gaiaonline.com/gaia/me...e0c1c_flip.png
I want to change her outfit but I'm having avi-creator's block?? xD

Oh yeah, and I've been a member since '05, super-dedicated, was on Going Postal years ago, given them loads of money D:<
I'm even supportive of the Sponsors and the Gaia Cash Offers ((don't kill me)). Heck, I got like 40k yesterday just selling the extra Chapeau Demoniques I got from the offers. =u=
Heheheh.

Angel Spirit Girl 08-01-2009 11:32 PM

That is a really cute gaia avatar, Luzzy. ^.^ Sometimes it can be so hard to come up with a new outfit. You look at things a think they look bad together when you were hoping they would match, or you think the end result is poor after all that work. Then you change one thing, and that leads you to change everything else to go with it.

rainbow-cherry gizgasm 08-01-2009 11:33 PM

so true

Antagonist 08-02-2009 02:17 AM

Yeah, I get that all the time. Even when I'm changing my avatar here on Mene too, even when I only have a little over a hundred items...avatar-changing can be so tricky...

*stares at the rainbow-colored thing in Luzzy's avatar* I'm really losing my touch with Gaia...don't recognize half the stuff they have on there anymore. :(

Luzzy 08-02-2009 05:14 AM

@Angel: THAT'S SO TRUE. >:U Even if I make the avi on Tektek, I realize... "Oh, there's not enough gold on that side!!" So I'll equip an item that unequips the other and after hours of staring at the screen I'll just give up. xD And thank you!! ;u;

@Fading: No worries. I was gone for less than two months last Summer ((we didn't have money to pay for the internet Dx )) and I came back and couldn't recognize a THING. It was mostly due to the Evolving Items but I still felt so disoriented. D: As a Gaiaddict, it was really painful for me!! xD

Angel Spirit Girl 08-02-2009 12:30 PM

It isn't just new evolving item poses gaia adds, it also dumps out a lot of stuff from the RIGged boxes. [That rainbow hair for instance, Fading. It's from Starbabies. A new item from the Lonely Star rando ticket. The rainbow sparkles are from the Radiant Prism monthly item of June last year.] Add the monthly items, cash shop updates, gold shop updates, sponsor stuff, and fish drop items to that and you get so much stuff that tektek has trouble keeping up.

Java Jenna 08-02-2009 03:04 PM

I think I only have 5 accounts on Gaia.
Mainly to store items that are crowding my inventory.
