:idea: I agree, making avatars is my favorite part of any site like this, I think. The more choices you can access the better.

Same for Second Life (which isn't forum based and there is no discussion I've seen for it; feel free to correct me), where there is a lot of free-form choice and a very capitalistic economy. Of course, that's a whole virtual metaverse, whereas this is a website, so it might be harder to store user generated creations like that.

Getting back to Gaia and avatars though, I'd need a closer look, but in my opinion, Menewsha clothes (and hair!) seem to be of a higher quality. Appologies to any Gaia creaters, this is just opinion. However, I like Gaia stores a little better. They seem a little more polished and a little more intereactive, however, it might also have something to do with how long the two sites have been around.

Higher quality, a lot less individuality. I feel like I keep seeing the same few basic designs over and over again here. Gaia, I see a lot more variety in what people are doing with their avatars.

I am really disappointed in what they did to the BOO skin, though.

I liked the old Overseer skin better than the SIN one, but did not decide to equip it.

I dunno I see a lot of the same basic avatars on Gaia. There are so many ways to cosplay on there that you see the same things over and over and over and over (Naruto and Bleach cosplays for example). The older items get forgotten and everyone seems to only wear the newer ones, unless older items correspond with a cosplay or are worth a fortune and the person what's to show off their inventory.

Gaia has been getting pretty silly lately.
Im thinking about giving up all my stuff on there and just perminalty moving to menewsha.
I've only been on her for about 15 minutes and i already like it better.

I really like the Reve. I was hoping to buy one, but I've really been low on gold lately, which I find rather odd. I usually have 15-20k at least.

I have a mule account on Gaia because it makes things in general easier. With two accounts, I can give myself gold or any item that I can't get with my other account.

i trade with my mules, i have quite a bit of really expensive items on gaia so when i trade or put things in the market place i send them to my mule so people dont see my main account and get any ideas about it.

Hi on Gaia I am known as Tigrosharu(Tig or Tigro for short) and I have no mules(mainly because I forgot my Gmail password) and i linked to facebook so I think they can trace me, I am not rich neccesarilly but I do get cash cards and my marketplace store specializes in species transformation potions. I am also notorious for the most "unique" messages in a bottle but I would like to create a mule merely because ppl always mistake my avi for a guy(she is female) I just can't stand the thought of dressing my main avi in something I (I am also a girl) wouldn't wear so i could dress up the mule in the clothes/items I have but won't wear...
that and the idea is kinda cool, plus she or he(I havn't desided) would be a great cover if I wanted to commment on forums i don't normally visit..

Is there a way to get rid of soulbound items? It says you can sell them in the shops, but you can't sell anything from there anymore...only from your inventory.

I think those of us on BOO are stuck with the potato skin. But I'm making the most of it and might do a Mrs Potatohead cosplay someday.

i a so likeing menewsha a lot more than gaia now. this is what like gaia was like in the begining. you have to work for the gold. you don't get it handed to you on a silver platter.

I've been on gaia for five years now, and yes I am one of those people who are still on it that are out of high school. But I'm starting to like Menesha more than gaia, mainly because there aren't so many people on it and I don't get so much spam or people wanting me to give them gold because of some sob story. Primarily though I like the fact that you actually have to interact on Menesha via forums and games to get gold.

On the other hand, I do wish that Menesha would get more sponsors and have more items. I feel like it's really hard to have your avatar stand out around here because there is a lack of items. But that's my only complaint, the avatars we have are just better because there isn't an item layering hold up and you don't have to buy multiple items in order to use two.

To your first question, the main reason they came up with the whole soulbound item idea is because there has been a lot of account hacking on gaia lately. And it's mainly for items that were given out when gaia started and for the item like the SIN and BOO skins.

As for your second question, you very well may be stuck with the potato skin, unless you can trade them between mules (I haven't tried that yet for the skins, but I traded my 2009 sash to a mule of mine and it wasn't soulbound anymore and I could sell it)

Does anyone else find this month MC rather... ill made and boring? The parts I did find interesting didn't even work well with the avatar art style (like the background in the unicorn item, whatever its called. I really like it, but it just does not fit the style of the Gaian avatars at all).

Ehm.. well I actually moved from Gaia to UniFaction, and now from UniFaction to Menewsha XD

Erailea: Yes, think so too. The background for the unicorn mc is the only good part of it, in my opinion. The rest of it seems like it was done too quickly and wasn't really thought out.

I love Gaia. Though I don't understand why other people have numerous accounts either. Its a fun place to go sometimes when your not obsessed with gold.
