okays people. I have a Delemar.
i have recently got a new computer. But the operating system on it isn't legit.
Im going out to tomorrow to get a legitimate copy. If i can find XP i will be getting that. but if i have to settle for vista, so be it.
My problem is my lack of intelligence & understanding.
am i able to get a copy of.. Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1
Am i going to be able to just put it into my computer & install?
even though i have a cracked version of XP on my computer??
& will it erase all the programs i currently have on my computer as well?
These are the things plaguing me.
Can anyone come to my rescue?

I'd stick with XP if I were you >_> Vista is a big ol' pain in the ass, and takes up a whole GB of RAM.

I couldn't advise you on installation though, as it's not something I've even done.

Yeah, I really wouldn't upgrade to Vista unless you have to. I hate it. Hate hate.

As for installing, you should be able to just put in the disk and follow on-screen instructions. I've had to reinstall my OS before and it's not difficult.
It will wipe all of your programs, though. Which is irritating. D:

You guys are crazy :P
Vista is a great OS when you've customised it to work the way you like it, and windows 7 is even better (you can try a beta version of it from microsoft).

Now what exactly is happening with your cracked version of XP? Is it giving you a timer to fix up the serial key or does it just keep an annoying little reminder down the bottom telling you your OS isn't genuine? If you got the timer, you'll need to upgrade whether you like it or not as it won't allow you to enter your computer after the date, but if its just the annoying little reminder, you shouldn't have to worry about upgrading at all  but still backup all your files just incase :)

Make sure you back up everything thats important and you don't want to loose, because yes, the system will be whiped clean  So make sure you have a USB or external harddrive with enough room to fit everything you want to save ^^
