Hahaha...yeah I notice the differences in the general discussion forum is a lot different from Gaia. But each site has its own perks and downs.

I like gaia to. Its a fun sight, and I like the Chibi style avis. ^___^
but I do agree that the GD ...and a lot of the forums are crowded with hackers and spam and all kinds of just annoying stuffs. Mene is fun to though, I'm actually on both right now. I don't even go in the mainstream Gaia forums anymore. I stick to my guild("Why Not?") and my buddies and I'm all set. :D

I'll admit, there was a time period where I was really bored and would post randomly through GD over CB (which to me was full of illiterates) but even then I grew to dislike GD. I like it here, so far the vibe is kind of...rural. I like it: mellow, literate, and articulate :] |
FYI, there is mean people hiding around every corner in life. You aren't going to avoid them. O.o Even here, one day, however far off it may seem, the first mean person is going to pop out and getcha. ^^ You can't avoid it.

It's rarely 'discussion' and more like 'chatterbox'. They should just merge the two already. I tend to lurk in GCD and SF. Some actual thought goes into those areas at least. I like that the forum's here are meant for discussion. It's a nice change of pace. |
That has to be one of the first things I thought when venturing onto this site. I'm so used to the fiery demon pit also known as Gaia's GD.
I stopped using Gaia's forums a year ago, and just lurked on friends' art threads and whatnot. I can't stand the people anymore. |
I think the forums around here are really good compared to other sites. Such as, if you talking about vegetarianism or veganism (I am vegan), then the other sites will instantly, instantly bash you. (Or even if there's a topic on gaia, like "looking for vegan recipes") It's a bit annoying with some people's attitudes, but here there's much less of that, and people are mature and they don't instantly tell you you're a noob. :D Definitely a great point of Menewsha's.

Well the thing is; I believe that Mene's not going to become big as Gaia. For one the manner that they created the gold system. People who are here just to spam will get bored with it. After all you barely get much money if you just say 'lol wut' on a post than if you put a well thought put together post. And if you spam; the mods take care of it quickly. Further you don't gain gold from surfing the site. So overall I think that the staff has created this site with a safe guard if you will. I think it's a really good idea overall.

I avoid the GD on Gaia with my whole life. I've been there a couple times when I was first starting out, but it is horrible. This one is way better. More mature conversations and being silly and people actually going along with it instead of being meanie heads. :] |
The GD and the actual discussion forum. Gaia was horrible when it came to mods, they will pick out the people they like and the people they hate. If they hate you then they will constantly move your topics or delete them.
In the ED forum, they would leave topics open until someone in the virtual world would get killed. Well, not literally. For example, the topic about Abortion that was just recently closed by a Mod...it would probably still be open on Gaia. |
I know how you feel. Though I don't go on Gaia anymore and I am using mene quite a lot now. Well, since yesterday and today. Since I got my computer a monitor now. xD It's totally different and it's alright. :)

I think the thing I didn't like about Gaia was how hard it was to find decent friends. Most of the people I met and talked to were just... I can't really explain it, I just felt like they were sort of cold there. Now here in Menewsha I really feel that people are nice and decent. :)

The GD is boring, mostly because Its always the same people. Also when you want to be one of those people that are a part of the GD, you have to post a pic of you on your siggy, which makes them picdrop you, and insult you on the littlest flaws. I was on the GD once and this girl that looked anorexic got bashed, I went to comment on her profile and try to make her feel better and I saw spam pic's of hamburgers all over that section. It made me sad. |
i think i posted something on gaia once.i remember that i didnt like what other people were saying about the topic. i think it was something with a band...people were slamming the band so hard! i felt bad cuz it was one of my favorites....i guess i like weird bands that other gaians dont like.
