I've only played Oblivion briefly thanks to my horrible Vista. *owns the PC version* The graphics were awesome, but sadly I could only play with the worst quality and even at that it lags like no other. I could be fine by myself walking around, but when I get into battles it becomes horrid...super lags everywhere, and by the time the lag passes, I'd be dead on the ground already...I stopped after a particular battle out in the middle of nowhere against this necromancer who wouldn't stop summoning skeletons and chucking fireballs all over the place...it was a major lag fest.

So most of the time I just stick with my Morrowind...I love using the cheat console, I see a lot of funny stuff with that, and it's awesome for getting out of stuck places. For some reason I always get stuck when I accidentally jump onto a torch or balcony...I'd get stuck there and no matter what I did I couldn't get off. So in the end I resorted to using the pass-through-everything code and unstuck myself...but then saw a bunch of NPCs walking with their waist stuck in the ground. o_O;

While there are so many things I would have changed in the game, I love it. So instead of me ranting on and on about the minor details,( there were spears in Morrowind, the game that came before, ARGGH!) I will just state my favorite part. I would have to say my fav part is the background story within the books. I have spent hours collecting the books and reading them. Some of them are almost even realistically long! I love how the books about Berenzia( I forgot how to spell her name) clash when it comes to the history books and the so called actual events. I hope they add more books to the next game.

I can't wait until they come out with Tamriel online as they have been talking about putting online the entire world with Morrowind, Hammerfell, and many other lands that are in the Elder Scrolls series. I think that it will be highly successful.

I use the PC version on Vista and I don't get lags at all...

I quite like playing Morrowind as well. There's more choice for weapons and spells, and the buildings are more interesting. It's also easier on Morrowind to get items using the console, because for some reason I can't use the console on Oblivion to get items I made myself - I have to actually place them on the map which can be very difficult. They usually end up in mid air or underground.

Although, on Oblivion you can use the console and just click on someone and type in "kill", and they die.

I'm always running around on Oblivion thinking "This would make an amazing MMO!" It's just, perfect!

Of course with loads were people they'd have too make the cities a lot bigger.

Kasumi 01-12-2010 01:54 AM

I played it on the XBOX 360. I'm thinking about getting a copy and download the Shimmering Island add-on. I liked the cities just don't care much for the difficulty of leveling up.

They would definitely have to make the cities a lot bigger for sure, but the world they created in the game is so huge to begin with that that would be a great start for the massive role playing game setting.

Then your computer is better than mine. Mine sucks. Really bad. Nearly all the games I play lag.

I've taken out my Oblivion again and started playing it, ignoring the lags while traveling in the wilderness...I love the console. It's just...made dungeon traveling much easier when you're on TCL mode and won't have to worry about getting chopped to pieces by those dropping axes.

The Oblivion planes drive me crazy though...fireball chuckers are annoying when you're trying to run, avoid Daedra, avoid land mines, and lagging all at the same time.

I love my full 100% Chameleon outfit though <3 Made sneaking around so much more easier and fun.

The Dark Brotherhood is definitely my favorite faction so far...the Whodunit? quest was by far my favorite murder quest. It was so amusing watching those people suspecting each other while the real murderer was standing right in front of them, talking to them. XD
...Though I wish I didn't have to do the Purification quest. I really liked those guild guys, Vincente in particular. D: *is a vampire at the moment thanks to him, despite the Sun Damage driving me crazy*

The Roze 01-16-2010 05:24 PM

I love the Oblivion Planes, especially setting off the land mines. You can just fire arrows or throw fireballs at them and they'll explode!

I love the Whodunit? quest as well! Especially when I told that Breton woman that I was an assassin hired to kill her, and she thought I was joking.
It's very frustrating killing everyone in the sanctuary when you know (if you've already done all the Dark Brotherhood quests) that the traitor has left the sanctuary and is a member of the Black Hand. I loved Mr'aaj-Dar (I think I spelled his name right) because he's so nasty to you at the start and it's only when you're ordered to kill him that he decides to become friends.

Sho-Shonojo 01-17-2010 05:13 PM

I'm finally in the Arcane University again. Now it's just a matter of time before I am the Arch Mage! Wahahah!

I love how you can get an undead dog in the Shivering Isles, but mine died. It was very sad.

The Roze 01-18-2010 06:45 PM

it's quite funny if you do all the mages guild quests and become Arch-Mage, and then do the Thieves Guild quests. When that captain Lex guy invades the waterfront, Methredhel tells you to go steal a staff from the arch-mages quarters and gives you the times he sleeps etc, so you have to go steal from yourself.
Also, if you wear necromancer's robes at the Arcane University, they'll get mad at you, but they're fine if you wear the King of Worms' robes.
I really wanted to join Mannimarco. I didn't want to kill him, so I even begged for my life, saying I'd join him if he spared me. Unfortunately, he wouldn't let me join him so I had to kill him... I love the necromancers! I don't see why summoning the undead is so much more evil than summoning evil daedra

Ugh. Yeah. That part sucked. I was all, "Wtf? Luciene you really damn know when to pick a time to purify the guild! D:"

And it didn't help that everyone I talked to about the orders all told me that, "It's an honor to be accepting a direct order from a Black Hand! Go for it!" >___>

I love that dog too. But it dies way too easily! D:
Mine got lost.
I was TCL-ing over some mountains and it just disappeared...never saw it again. Probably got killed by a Grummite or something along the way....; -;

I don't see what's so bad about being a necromancer either. Hell, I wanted to be a necromancer. I even summoned a bunch of skeletons and all the rest of the undead all over the place while I was in the Arena...I haven't gotten that far in the Worm King quest yet though, got distracted by the Shivering Isles.

...Which, speaking of, I had a manic laughing fit earlier today while attempting to do the Knights of the Nine quest...I was on my Pilgrimage thingie (though now that I look back on the map, I think I've gone to all the wrong shrines...Lowest Quality sucks sometimes. The damned map is all blurry and I could barely make out where those dots were...) when I reached Sheogorath's shrine. As I'm already Sheogorath, it was Haskville (sp?) who spoke to me and the first thing he said was, "Praying to yourself, my Lord? That's never a good thing..."

...And I just burst out laughing at that. >__> Couldn't stop for a full minute.

Aw that's so sad. T.T I miss him.

Being a necromancer would be pretty cool. They could have made a bunch of quests for the necromancers overturning the mages guild, or infiltrating them or something.

Ha, you had to steal from yourself! That's great.

I still can't wait to see the Archmage off himself. It was so priceless the first time.

Yeah, he doesn't deserve to be Arch-Mage if he's such an idiot. I mean one second he's talking to you and then the next he casts some spell which does fire damage to himself. Why would anyone learn a spell like that?!

I always thought it was so rude whenever I walk past a guard and they say, "Greetings, Dunmer."
Referring to someone because of their race? Kinda rude if you ask me. You don't go up to people and say "Hello, human."

Seriously, what a coward. You shouldn't have messed with necromancers if you were so afraid of them.

Huh, I never really thought about it, but I guess that is pretty rude.

lol, I don't know, maybe a fireball directed at himself? :XD

Oh, I always play as an Argonian, I find their poison immunity and water-breathing powers to be too awesome to let pass...since I spend a good deal of time swimming around. And soon after I got my 100% Chameleon outfit so I ceased to hear what people refer to me as  I should take them off and see now that I'm a bunch of things...Gray Fox, Listener, Arena Champion, Savior-of-the-World, ...:XD
I think I might have heard some people refer to me as 'Argonian scum' before though...hmm. Oh, and telling me to go away, as a 'filthy beast'. (was 100% Vampire at the time)

...Still haven't completed the Mages Guild quests, got distracted by the Fighter's Guild this time.

The Roze 01-21-2010 12:16 PM

Yes, people are quite rude sometimes. I am always either Dark Elf or Wood Elf, and whenever I'm a Wood Elf a lot of guards call me a "tree rat".
I feel sorry for the Kajiit, because the Imperials invaded their land, and aren't very nice to them. And the same thing might happen to the Argonians.
I have a ring which gives me water breathing (along with a whole load of other things) and that comes in handy. If I want to be invisible then I put on my 100% chameleon necklace. Very handy for assassinations or thefts.

Antagonist 01-21-2010 04:17 PM

O_O There's a 100% chameleon necklace?

The Roze 01-21-2010 05:30 PM

No, I made it myself ^^

Sho-Shonojo 01-21-2010 05:35 PM

I've haven't really done any thieving things yet. I'm playing as a "good" character now. The only thing I've stolen so far are two sweetrolls in the Shivering Isles because that Woodelf wanted them and no one was selling them.

I plan to make an evil character later. I'll be a vampire in the thieves' guild and the dark brotherhood and I'll kill people. Just, with a different character.

The Roze 01-21-2010 05:38 PM

I pretty much do everything on one character. Thieves guild, Dark brotherhood, Fighters Guild, Mages Guild, Arena, etc.
Most of the counts and countesses annoy me. Especially the Count of Bravil. He's so snooty. But I love the Count of Skingrad.

Antagonist 01-22-2010 02:56 AM

I love the Skingrad count too. The others, I just want to kill them. I plan on doing so, after I finish up on all the quests and stuffs that I can find...then I'll go on a rampage and kill everyone. All the non-essential NPCs will be on my kill list...except for the Dark Brotherhood people and the Thieves Guild people, I have a certain liking to them and the Dark Brotherhood is my most favorite <33

Oh, and maybe Sheogorath's followers at his shrine...can't go around killing my own followers, even if it's on a whim. >.>;;

...And how do you make a 100% chameleon necklace? The most I could get up to was 20% :O

Furious 01-22-2010 08:31 AM

I'm currently replaying Oblivion for...hundredth time. Oh gosh, it's addictive. I can get bored of it, and then in a few months I can get hooked back on it like I never left it.

My current character is a female wood elf named Lén. I usually Roleplay while playing this game, so I'm pretending that after committing a murder in coldblood, something she would normally never do, at first denies Lucien Lachance's offer to join the dark brotherhood. When she stumbles across the entrance to the Shivering Isles, she finds herself sucked into becoming Sheogorath's champion.

At first she's reluctant, but the effects of the realm slowly begin to work on her, until she starts finding she enjoys her tasks. When she finally becomes Sheogorath herself, she returns to Cyrodiil and sets forth on the task Lucien gave her in the beginning, to kill Rufio and join the dark brotherhood.

She's quite fun to play. She's an archer and likes wearing pretty clothes. She giggles when she kills people and dances over their bodies.

So yeah...that's my character :U

That's something I used to do in Morrowind. Sometimes I'd just get tired of everything, and I'd save the game, then go around killing everyone I met. I used to see how high I could get my bounty up ^^

I made the 100% chameleon necklace using the Construction Set. You can download it and create your own data files, and create enchantments, items, all sorts of things. I also edited the horses so that the one you buy in Anvil is immortal, can fly, and can do magic ^^

Antagonist 01-22-2010 03:08 PM

lol! I did that in Morrowind too once! Got over 20k bounty before I got tired of it XD;;
Haven't tried that yet in Oblivion, but I'm saving that until I get all the quests done first <3

Wow wtf XD I haven't ever gotten into the Contruction set before, I'll have to look into that later...XDDD

...And that Dunmer in the Fighter's Guild annoys me. I want to hack him apart so much. :/ Rude bastard...and that orc...I could beat them anyday in a duel and they both treat me like some kind of inferior...gah, can't wait to get done with their quests so I can kill them. XD
