@Furious: Yea, I kinda roleplay my character too which is why I just can't make him join the Thieves' guild or Dark Brotherhood. It's just against his character!

Man, all that extra stuff you can get on the PC version makes me wish I had that one. :(

The Roze 01-23-2010 06:46 PM

Yeah, but as far as I know you can't get the expansions on the PC version. Or at least, I haven't heard of a PC version of the Shimmering Isles etc...

I don't really roleplay my character. Or at least, not much, because my character always does everything.

I hate Jeaffre (is that even how you spell his name?). For no reason. I just hate him. I laughed when he died ^^

Sho-Shonojo 01-24-2010 06:00 AM

You mean they don't sell the expansion by itself? You have to buy it in the Game of Year package?

I forget who Jeaffre is.

The Roze 01-24-2010 04:54 PM

I don't know about the expansion. I haven't ever seen a PC version for sale but that doesn't mean there isn't one...

Jeaffre (I'm pretty sure I've spelled his name wrong) is that monk who's in charge of the Blades.

Sho-Shonojo 01-25-2010 04:42 AM

Well I searched Shivering Isles and only found the Game of the Year Edition...

Oh right, that would explain why I don't remember him. I've only seen him when my sister was talking to him.

The Roze 01-25-2010 07:55 AM

Yeah I hate him for pretty much no reason. He just annoys me. So does Martin...
Talking about all these characters I hate makes me want to go kill them. Too bad you can only knock them unconscious...

sarofset 01-25-2010 08:24 AM

My favorite thing about this game was all of the interesting things that used to happen to me. For instance: I drop the bread, and it floats in mid air, I drop the cup and it shoots across the room, and knocks everything off the table. Making paintbrush ladders to climb up the tall buildings. Getting my jump skill so high, that when i land it hurts.

The absolute best things though were some awesome kills.

A guard on horse back: I shoot him with my bow, and he flies backwards off his horse, and off a cliff.

A random female character wandering around on the road: I shoot her with my bow, and she lands in such a way that she appears to be standing up.

Character I fought in the arena: I hit him hard with my sword, and knocked him backwards over one of the short pylons in the ring. He did a back flip over the thing. I'm just saying.

The Roze 01-25-2010 09:21 AM

That reminds me of that time in Morrowind when I was walking along and then suddenly a guy landed in front of me and died. He'd invented a scroll which massively boosts your agility so that when you jump you travel halfway across Morrowind, but he didn't include a slowfall so he died! Idiot...
It's always good fun making a mess in someone's house. If you cast a fireball at a table the plates etc will fly everywhere! Using the construction set I made a fireball spell with a huge area of effect but only did 1 damage. I go into someone's house, turn invisible and cast the spell, and everything goes flying!

Antagonist 01-25-2010 03:33 PM

o_O

I should totally try that next time. Sounds like fun. xD

Gah. The Construction Set is driving me crazy, I still can't figure out how to make an item with it...Do you have to start from the beginning? (the cell room) Or can the item be loaded into a save file?

The dead bandits and monsters spasming on the ground after I kill them is creepy. I love killing creatures in TCL mode, they all freeze in the position they died in until I key in TCL again xD (mid-leap, half-closed eyes, etc. xDD)

The Roze 01-25-2010 04:46 PM

The construction set can be quite complicated but it's easy once you know how to work it.
First you have to make sure that you've loaded the Oblivion Data file.
To create an item you have to find the item which you are going to base it on - like if you wanted to make some green armour you would base it off of whatever you want it to look like which in that case would be glass armour. If you want to create something that's enchanted you have to create the enchantment first by going to the enchantment list, right clicking on the list and selecting "New". Then you create the item and add the enchantment onto it.
To add items to your inventory, you go to the console and type the following: player. additem <item's code> <quantity you want>
You get the code by holding your mouse over the item ID in the construction set.
Unfortunately that only works with items that already exist. If you try it with an item you created it doesn't work, so you need to place it on the map. They can be really difficult to find, but I have one spot which I usually use. To the right of the screen, I normally select BrumaWorld instead of Interiors, and then a list comes up below that. I select the second one down and then there is another window to the left of that with all the items and stuff in that area. There should be an arrow. If you double click on it on the list the picture above should load. Then you find the items you want and drag them onto the picture where you want them.
To find those items in the game, go to Bruma Castle, then go back towards Bruma itself and the item(s) should be along the wall before the steps. You may have to use TCL to find them, because sometimes they end up high in the air or underground ^^

I've never killed anything in TCL mode before. Interesting idea, I'll have to try that.

Sho-Shonojo 01-26-2010 12:58 AM

The best kill I had was when I had killed a goblin and he fell and landed with his face in the crotch of another dead goblin.

I laughed for a long time over that one.

Antagonist 01-26-2010 05:11 AM

*eyes slide unfocused*

I...I'll just stick with trying to modify with stuff I already have xD;;; I have a ton of useless items from random places I collected off dead people I've killed. Since the game is on a different computer that doesn't have Internet, I'll try on it later and hope I'll be able to find something that won't kill my brain when making an item...^_^;

You'll have to be visible for them to freeze in mid-leap or mid-swing though, because me in my 100 Chameleon mode killing them is boring, they just stand there after they die D:

@Sho: lol, That's kind of disturbing o.O
Reminds me of that disturbing scene I saw outside a necromancer cave...two naked decaying corpses were stacked on top of each other, facing one another, lying on a slab of stone...makes me wonder just what bizarre minds the necromancers have when they were stacking those bodies...

*goes to try the Construction set again, and the explode-people's-stuff-with-a-fireball thing xD*

The Roze 01-26-2010 07:38 AM

Yeah the construction set can be slightly complicated. I'm sure there's loads of good tutorials online but I really couldn't name one because I learned how to use it from my brother.

It's always fun dragging corpses into weird positions. I do that quite often ^^

Antagonist 01-27-2010 03:01 AM

With Telekinisess? (sp?)
I've never used that spell before...I don't think I even have it in my spellbook xD;;

Gah. I read through the online tutorial on Bethesda again and again but that damned exploding spell just wouldn't be added into my spellbook! D: I even named it 'Watch The Objects Fly'! It'd be so sad if I couldn't add that into my spellbook! ; -; *will try twiddling it again later*

And I might start over with the game some time...I've finished just about all the major quests in the game already @[email protected] Now I'm just trying to find some of those obscure Daedric shrines so I can go to that tentacle-claw shrine and do its quest...

Necromancers really do, do strange things with dead bodies.

Discovered King's Secret yesterday. Boy was that an interesting place, some pretty good gear in there too.

If you have the PC version then if you hold the z key while the cursor is over an object you can move it around.

What's King's Secret?

Antagonist 01-27-2010 01:24 PM

OOH, I had no idea O_O;;

*makes mental note to try the z key next time*

*has no idea what King's Secret is either xD;;*

The Roze 01-27-2010 05:12 PM

Yeah, the z key comes in very handy when furnishing your house. Whenever I buy a house I always clear out anything I don't want and replace it with stuff I do want. I also make sure I have lots of flowers, ebcause I like flowers. If you want flowers, steal from the Count of Cheydinhal. He has loads ^^

Sho-Shonojo 01-28-2010 01:50 AM

Oops, let me correct myself, it's actually Kingscrest Cavern. It's located North of Cheydinhal and Lake Arrius going up the mountain.

I went through about four or five separate caverns before I left when I ran out of repair hammers. It just seemed a lot cooler than some of the other caves I've visited and this one had some pretty good loot. Plus one of the caverns required me to go underwater for a bit to get into it. I just thought it was pretty neat as far as caves go.

Antagonist 01-28-2010 03:20 AM

I suck at furnishing my houses...the only one I truly consider to be my house is the one in Cheydinhal...I just love the outer appearance of the building, plus it's the home base for the Dark Brotherhood <33

But now that I know of the z key, I'll be able to try my hand at better decorating the houses...I hadn't decorated them previously because of how the item just drops and I could never get the direction and distance right >_<

Oh...I'm not sure if I've ever been to Kingcrest Cavern before o.o I'll have to look into it...sounds interesting ^_^

The Roze 01-28-2010 08:02 AM

I love doing the quests for Daedra gods. I love Daedra gods loads! In fact at the end, when you go to Mankar Camoran's Paradise and hear him talking to you, he pretty much had me converted! I wanted to join the Mythic Dawn and help Mehrunes Dagon! Unfortunately I wasn't allowed and had to stop him and help Martin. *sulks*

Antagonist 01-28-2010 09:13 AM

I didn't like Mankar much, since he was so condescending when he was talking to me >_>;
But I was really interested with Mehrunes Dagon. If only he had a shrine that gave a quest! D:

My favorite's still Sheogorath though. But I'm not done with the Daedric quests yet so there might be others that I like even more. I found the shrine for M-something earlier, but I arrived 33 minutes too late so I had to wait another full day before I can give the Nightshade, but I didn't want to wait since I'm an insomniac of a vampire that hasn't slept for weeks thanks to wanting to avoid the vampiric progress =_=; I wonder if it's possible to use the Construction set to create an item that can prevent Sun Damage...that would be just awesome.

I love the Watch The Objects Fly spell I made <3 Unfortunately it also has the tendency to make the residents of the house I'm exploding in run around fleeing. Oh well. <3

The Roze 01-28-2010 12:20 PM

Yes, that's why I always do it while invisible. Otherwise, you get a bounty ^^
I think my favourite Daedra quest is Sanguine. I think that's the one where you cast a spell on a countess's dinner party and make everyone's clothes disappear ^^

Antagonist 01-28-2010 02:45 PM

OOOH, yeah, that's the one I'm looking forward to most! Though I have yet to find Sanguine's shrine >_>;;

I think Oblivion's construction set walkthrough on the official site has a walkthrough that teaches you how to make a spell...and the script the author used to demonstrate was the remove all equipment spell xD I'll have to remember to try that out some time by making a custom spell for it, so I can undress everyone in any random city I'm in <3

The Roze 01-28-2010 07:03 PM

Lol that sounds fun ^^

Problem with Oblivion, though, is that they don't seem to care if you walk around naked. If you do it in Morrowind then people say stuff like, "What do you think you're doing, walking around like that? Put some clothes on!" But in Oblivion, they do nothing. Don't they have any issues with nudity?
