PS3 Games You'd Recommend For Different Kinds of Gamers?

Hi there! :'D

Okay, so I'll get straight to the point. So my brother and I have gotten a PS3 for Christmas. But because we all know that PS3 games are more on the expensive side of things, we both know that we have to budget our money if we want to buy any games. :3

So, my question is this: What game/s will you recommend for my brother and I? Note also that my brother and I are two different kinds of gamers as well.

To be more specific, my brother is an avid and addicted gamer (aka what most would call a "real" gamer), while I am more of a casual gamer with a penchant for RPG's and puzzle games. My brother needs challenges in his game, and thus really values gameplay. Whereas I play mostly for the story value (hence my love for RPG's) and stuff that makes me think.

If it helps, we currently only own four games: Demon's Souls, Soul Caliber IV, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Valkyria Chronicles (which we've finished). As you can see, we're in need of new games stat. xDD;;

We also don't mind buying second-hand games or renting them, so you can indicate if a game should be played by us, but not enough for us to buy our own brand new shiny copies. =)

You may all also just discuss games you'd recommend for each other in general and not related to my brother and me. :3 <3<3

What games do you play on the PS3, in general, that you want us Menewshans to play as well? :'D Discuss and share! ^^

I recommend Uncharted Drake's Fortune.

I'll take a look at that then. ^^ Thanks for the suggestion~! :'D <3<3

Also, I plan on getting myself FFXIII when it comes out, even if it has mixed reviews, as far as I know. o_o;; But since I'm a Final Fantasy fan anyway, guess I should get it no matter what, right? XP

I would also check the Playstation Store since you can find a lot of old favorites for under $10.I've had my PS3 for a month now. You might look into Eternal Sonata.

My brother and I were considering them, but since we don't live in the US, it's a little harder for us to pay. ^^;;
Heck, we can't even make a Master account because of all things, Sony doesn't think the Philippines is worthy enough to be part of their country list. D; So, yeah. xDD;;

That bites maybe you can find the Japanese Version of the game called Trusty Bell.I'm surprised since Microsoft has the service available there.

Hmm? Not sure what the last part of your sentence means, but I shall still try and look into this Trusty Bell. I haven't heard of it yet. =O

It means that the XBOX 360 has servers there I have both systems and fought/joined a few missions with people from the Phillipines. It's the original name of Eternal Sonata. I found a link that will help you.

I would suggest little big planet (kind of a puzzle adventure game with little voodoo doll characters it was voted game of the year and I thought it was really fun)
also i would suggest darksiders if you have ever played god of war it has that kind of feel to it

Rylynne 01-12-2010 01:29 PM

I've tried Little Big Planet, and I think I may just rent it or something, since it's not that replayable for me. XP Maybe though~ ^^

Darksiders is actually another title we've been thinking about, but I dunno how high it is on our priority list to buy. XP We do plan on getting it someday though. :3 <3<3

Thank you again for the suggestions! ^^

I'm borrowing Eternal Sonata from my brother's friend. We shall see. :3 <3<3

Cool. I think you would like the graphics.

Rylynne 01-16-2010 04:21 AM

I downloaded the demo of it (which was free, so I didn't have problems with payment now xDD), and I like it so far. :3 Typically the art style isn't my favorite kind, since I'm more for realistic graphics (or very stylized ones), but the battle system is enjoyable enough for now. :3

I've also read that it got good reviews, so I'm actually looking forward to it. ^^
That, or I may just be really desperate for a new game (Soul Calibur IV can only get you so far xDD). We shall see~ ^^ <3<3
