I hope it's ok to put this thread here. My computer even when I'm typing the screen keeps blacking out. How do I fix it?

I suggest getting a new one. It looks like it will probably die. D:

I know how you feel. I have had one that would go in and out when I was on my computer. It mean it is dying out. After all nothing really lasts forever. >< So...I suggesting your parents for some help or whatever. ;D

I am not sure I understand the reference 'blacking out'. Do you mean your computer reboots itself? Can you elaborate please?

That sounds like what happened to my last laptop. I ended up getting a new one. @[email protected] The screen kept going black, and I'd have to shut it and open it again to get it working again. Eventually it died completely. It's still usable as a computer, but I had to hook it up to a desktop monitor because the monitor doesn't work at all. I don't know if you've got a desktop or a laptop, but if you have a laptop it may be the same problem. It could be either the light in the monitor is dead or it could be something more like the wiring. You can take it to get it fixed but it could end up being expensive, which is why I just went and bought a new laptop instead.

Hm... Any other problems, or just the screen?
To me, it sounds like a new monitor is in order. The computer itself though, if this is the only problem, is probably okay.

I'm no computer genius, but that's what it sounds like to me.

Oh trouble with your monitor?
Well I went to my wise friend, I call him Google. He gave me some suggestions for you.

Computer Monitor Blackouts - MiceChat
This person at this forum had the same problem pretty much and some other users made some suggestions here.

This website is also very informative:
Why do I get a black screen on my computer after a while?

Also perhaps try:
Top ten Reasons you get a blank screen on your computer monitor

It would have been more helpful to know what kind of computer we are working with here, laptop or desktop? Try googling specifically 'Desktop screen blackouts' or 'Laptop screen blackouts'. You are likely to get some more helpful information.
Good luck.

That sucks! It might not be a problem with your actual computer, it might just be the monitor. Try hooking it up to a separate screen and then see if you're having the same issue.

Is it a LCD or a tube type monitor?

Get a new cord that connects from the PC to the monitor. If that doesn't work, then probably get a new monitor.
