So I finished playing Mass Effect 2 and was kinda wondering about the Illusive Man's eyes...kept bothering me. So I started to watch my boyfriend play Mass Effect ( the first one) and he called me over to look at something. Saren has the same eyes as the Illusive Man. This makes me wondering if this is a foreshadow. Could the Illusive Man be actually working with the Reapers? Is the Illusive Man a tauren in disguise? Or is there something more to it. There must be something meaningful about the eyes they both share.

Well, I think it is foreshadowing. Since(as far as I can tell) Garrus has different eyes than Saren does. Even the other Turians you can talk to in the game have different eyes than Saren and the Illusive Man. Though, when you kill a Husk(if you dont incinerate it), or if you zoom in on its head while its shambling towards you, the eyes are fairly similar. Seeing as Husks are based off Reaper technology, and Saren was just a super advanced Husk(at least, thats what I believe) it is possible the Illusive Man is one as well. Though for I have a possible spoiler(for those who havent beaten the game) below.

The Illusive Man knew of the trap from the IFF and the "Disabled" Collector Ship. Not to mention, you only ever see 2 people walk near his actual person. Miranda Lawson, and some unknown secretary. Which leads me to believe that he is somewhere that 99% of Cerberus doesnt know about, or cant get to due to the close proximity to the Reapers, or something along those line. Though I think Im just rambling since Im tired.

Oh man, I didn't even notice that! I mean, I noticed his eyes were weird, but I assumed they were just cybernetic eyes or something.

I think he's being honest about wanting to help humanity defeat the reapers, but I'm ... concerned about his desire to use reaper tech against them. In both of the games, anyone who has anything whatsoever to do with reaper tech ends up either working for them or bat-shit insane.

I still let him keep the collector base at the end though. I just couldn't bring myself to blow up all that technology if there was a chance it could help. Hmmm ... maybe I've been mind-controlled by reaper tech!

Also, I'm pretty sure the Illusive Man is the Shadow Broker.

Hmmm, that is a good point... I was like Chattonne and figured that it was just cybernetics, but it is possible that with the Illusive Man's obsession with the Reapers he could have gotten a little bit of tech and integrated it into himself.

There was no way I was gonna let that mad man have the Collector base, knowing my luck he would end up using it to take control of the Universe, and that just is... horrible to think about.

That and I'm with the hordes at BSN that think Miranda's father is the Shadow Broker, which would make for an interesting situation when Liara figures that out in the 3rd game and goes to kill him. ^_^

I honestly cant wait for 3. I ended up destroying the base, and using mostly Miranda and Grunt during most of it.

During the third one Im hoping for a chance to kill the Information Hub known as The Illusive Man. Either that, or beat the crap out of him, and feed him to a Reaper. That would be interesting since I have not really gone either good, or bad. Im a bit neutral.

If you play the ending where you don't destroy the Collector base so you can use the Reaper Tech, you watch as the Illusive man sits in his chair and watches as the ships approach the base. He has an evil smile on his face and it made me wonder.

But perhaps he IS working with the Reapers and wants the technology for himself so he can rule the galaxy and perhaps prevent the reapers from coming by using their own power against them.

He's a very iffy individual but I LOVED being rude to him with my female Shepard, it was effing amazing. Haha. She's a wicked character.
Especially in my ending where she says " YOU CAN FALL IN LINE OR STAND ASIDE. BUT DONT GET IN MY WAY." bwhahahah. OWNED.
