Are you one of those kids whose parents are always saying video games are bad for you? If so, this is the article for you. There are benefits, risks, and educational factors to consider. Video games aren’t necessarily as bad as a lot of people are calling them.
Some people claim that video games rot your brain, but others have heard otherwise. In fact, there are some benefits to playing video games. [QUOTE] Researchers have found that frequent game players score better at vision tests as compared to non-players. It has also been found that playing these games could improve children's logical thinking ability and problem solving skills.[QUOTE] So playing video games can help ensure a brighter future. Violent video games don’t necessarily lead to violent behavior, but sometimes more aggressive people like more aggressive video games.
Now video games can be helpful, but in excess not so much. Researchers states that,
Quote:
specialists have confirmed that children who spend too much time playing computer games not only are easily susceptible to long term problems like bad posture and RSI (repetitive strain injury), but it also causes a disequilibrium in their daily routine.
However, I also found that
Quote:
benefits that come from video games include higher reflexes, strong and flexible fingers and joints, and a higher processing brain with advanced eye and hand coordination.
Not to mention that video games can be a great way to kick back and relax. It is important to remember though that video games aren’t all bad, but can be harmful if not used in moderation. So remember kids there can always be too much of a good thing.
Most people think of violence or racing when they think of video games, but not all video games are violent. For example, Leap Frog teaches kids all sorts of useful skills at an early age. The Jump Start series, as well as other educational games, stimulate the brain in a way that’s more entertaining. In fact,
Quote:
Video games also allow participants to experience novelty, curiosity and challenge. This may stimulate learning.
Video games can probably be found at your local Best Buy. So buy your kids video games today and help ensure a better tomorrow.
To conclude, video games aren’t necessarily as bad as some people say they are. You just have to be playing in moderation. So help the world create an era of super humans with super eyesight, fast reflexes, and uncanny intelligence! Play video games!

You might wanna source those quotes love. If this was in the debate thread, there are a lot of people who would love to argue with or against you, and have much better citations.

I just have issues with the idea of telling parents to

I mean really.

Sure they're not as bad as some people would like to believe, but that doesn't mean they're good either.

And do you truely believe this? Not everyone is going to remember the word "moderation". Video games can be as addicting as any drug to certain types of people. Then you'll have the people that play 2 minutes and go do something else. How can you regulate moderation of video games? There will always be people who enjoy it so much they play to excess, and end up ruining their eye sight, or not catching on to the idea of reflexes, or you even get those that just play mindless war games where all you do is point and shoot. Where do you get uncanny intelligence out of a game like that?

I agree with syraannabelle; You cant generalise and say that all video games are useful.
