Or maybe the guards just really are psychic! DUN DUN DUUN
I don't know, I've never tried talking to them before XD I should try that next time...I'm just way too used to just putting on my 100% invisibility equipment and then making my escape...^^;

They're harder to move because they're all heavy XD It takes me a lot of time to drag them around too...but then I just set my arrows to speed 2000 and they fly off into the sky when shot. : P

@ Fading Existence: I usually run away and then just pay off my fines through the thieves guild. I'm really, really bad at hiding from people as I do EVIL THINGS. Hah.

And is it just mean, or is everyone psychic in this game? I'll steal something from an empty room with closed door and someone will see me through the door. And it's not even just the guards! Maybe I'm just really, really bad at this. I should just stick to being a good guy. xD

@ Fading Existence: Yeah, I guess she would only say it to a female character. It was quite strange, though. But I suppose that most of the people in New Sheoth are strange. Like that guy who wants to magically preserve people.

Whenever I get a bounty, I resist arrest, turn invisible, and use the console to set my bounty to 0. Or I distract the guards by placing an even bigger bounty on someone else.

I love Oblivion. When I first got it, I played it non stop. It took me a while to develop a good enough character though. But when I did, I got the majority of the quests done. I think little things like that dumb ninroot I still haven't finished. BUT my PS3 fried and I ended up losing ALL of that progress. I just wanted to die... I love the Sims! I am soooo addicted to them. I have the recent sims 3 and truthfully, I am missing the Sims 2. They had a lot of more cooler stuff on there. And the only thing that I really like about the Sims 3 is the character development.

I gave up on searching for nirnroot and used the item code and console to add enough of it into my inventory. Although everytime I'm out riding and I see one, I grab it ^^

@ Roze: Pft. I never even thought about using console commands. I think I will do that next time I join the Brotherhood since they don't pay off fines.

Also, I loved the nirn root quest. Mostly because I love tromping through the wildernes and by following the rivers I found so many little places I'd never seen before!
Okay and I love the atmosphere music. I love it a lot.

I use the console for a lot of things. If I get stuck I use tcl to switch collisions off, if I can't be bothered picking a lock I use the unlock command, if I can't be bothered killing someone I use the kill command, and if I want an item I use the additem command. So basically whenever I'm too lazy to do things properly ^^

I do like exploring. Quite often I just get on my horse, find a spot on the map I've never been to, and just head off to that area. The music is good, too ^^

Gotta love those crazy people in the Shivering Isles. XDDD

I'm nearly always in full invisible mode ("By the nine I just got shot by thin air!" *<-- is a full-time marksman XD*), so I usually don't have problems with guards coming to arrest me...unless I forgot and accidentally decided to talk to them. Stupid moments. >_>;

lol Totally! The first time I played the game, I had no idea what the little red hand meant and picked up an onion...there was no one in the room but then this guard appeared behind me and boomed with his, "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!!" And I nearly jumped out of my skin. >_____>;;

I like tramping around in the wilderness too, but after a while I avoid going out as much as possible...my computer sucks too much and gives me a huge lagfest whenever I'm out of town. : (

Oblivion is a great improvement compared to Morrowind in that prospect XD I'm always getting stuck in Morrowind...even jumping onto the edge of a balcony gets me stuck! And I lost count of just how many times I got stuck on top of a torch while jumping...
I don't use the unlock command much though, since I want to level up my Security level XD I use the console to add 1000 picklocks instead and start auto-picking until the door opens. xDDD

I hate it when my lockpicks break so I just add the skeleton key. It's quite easy to add it to your inventory because if I remember right, its code is just "D"
So if you type: player. additem D 1
Then you should get a skeleton key. That way it says in my stats that I've picked loads of locks but never broken a lockpick. Or maybe I'm too obssessed with stats.
I used to be invisible all the time, but then I got bored of no one putting up a fight when I kill them so I really only use it for stealthy missions now. Or when I want to steal. Or when I can't be bothered fighting.

Geeze, and now I'm just sitting here wondering why it never even occured to me to use the console command. xD I use it all the time for Fallout 3, but I guess I just never thought about it for Oblivion, with the exception of getting unstuck from the scenery. xD

And I loved the Shiver Isles SO MUCH. I was actually pretty sad about the way the main quest ends, because I wanted to stay with Sheogorath forever. <3

I did that in Morrowind when I first started playing. It was the first game I had ever come across where you could pick up EVERYTHING and I was totally entranced by it. xD Since it was literally the first room you enter, I don't remember the guard doing anything more than waving his finger (metaphorically) and taking the stuff.
God what I really hate is when you ACCIDENTALLY steal things. That's the worst. Then you throw it out of your inventory (if you noticed you took it) and hope they'll forgive you. D=

I often accidentally steal things >_<
Whenever I think I've accidentally done something wrong I panic and quickly check my bounty. I really hate it when guards do the "Stop right there criminal scum!!!"
Although it's much better in the SHivering Isles. I never committed a crime there before completing the main quest, so I don't know what it's like before that, but the Golden Saints/Dark Seducers say "Excuse me, my Lord, but there seems to have been a misunderstanding." It's so funny if you go up to one of them and hit them with a sword, and then they say it's a misunderstanding :XD

I could never really get into Oblivion the same way I did with Morrowind/Tribunal/Bloodmoon. It seemed like such a step backward in pretty much everything except the graphics. I remember hearing that Shivering Isles was more of a return to what made Morrowind so good but by then I'd really lost interest in the game.

Some aspects of Morrowind were better, but I think I still prefer Oblivion overall. Mainly because there are no Cliff racers in oblivion. I hate Cliff Racers >_<

You can mod the cliff racers out if you're on the PC. You can also install mods that improve the quality of the graphics, as well as ones that add all sorts of wildlife to Vvardenfell; swarms of butterflies, sharks, giants, dragons...

I find it to be a far superior game. The place is so alien and wondrous, even though a lot of the time it feels like the land itself is trying to kill you. In comparison Oblivion is a large green circle with nothing interest in it, it's no wonder they added quick travel so you could just teleport between the towns and cities.

No cliff racers? I ahve to figure out how to do that!
I remember once when I played it I bought a whole load of slaves... they followed me everywhere and I couldn't get them to do anything at all. It was fun dressing them up though ^^

Well, I understood why it was the way it was though. I mean, it feels like TES is going through the various countries of the world and it just happens that this country is probably the most cosmopoliton and, well, human. I can see where you're coming from, but it didn't really detract anything from the game for me. I still really liked a lot of the characters and The Shivering Isles deffinately was a step up from the rest of the game.

And I wouldn't say nothing of interest. I really liked going through the Ayelid ruins. And when you do take the time to walk through the land interesting things can happen. Admittedly, I usually have Crowded Roads running, so I'll run into Draemora all the time.

I'm really hoping for The Black Marsh next, but all I've heard is that they're working on a game. I don't think they've given any specifics yet?

No, they haven't given any specifics. I was hoping for Valenwood myself ^^
But I'm sure I'll love the game no matter where it's set
In Oblivion, I love riding around and searching for Daedric shrines. It can be fun doing weird quests for the Daedric princes.

The Black Marshes sounds good to me, it will bring back some of the alien feel with the local flora and fauna, along with a countryside that can actually be dangerous to navigate.

I do hope they change the fairly broken leveling system though, including the scaling of enemies because it was pretty ridiculous. Getting held up by petty bandits on the roadside who happen to be wearing the most expensive armour money can buy is a little...eh.

Yeah, but I suppose the bandits on the side of the road would be no challenge at all if they were wearing leather or iron >_<
Whenever I see a highwayman, I always pay him rather than fight him, because they have to make a living too. And it can't be easy standing outside next to a road all day... that and it's not like I need the money

Ehn. I didn't care much for the leveling system either, but I didn't hate it. I think it was handled better in Fallout 3, but I think it makes more logical sense in Oblivion. You practice sneaking, you get better at sneaking. It seemed fine to me, it just wasn't my favorite.

And I quite liked that the creatures leveled up with you. I think the game would've been to easy otherwise. And besides, if I did ever get held up at some part I could just mometarily lower the difficulty setting and then set it back up. Overall, I liked that system.

The only thing I really wish gets changed is how they handled the main quest and guilds. It felt like the guilds should have had more impact on the main quest than they did. I mean, I'm in the Dark Brotherhood and you guys mentioned it maybe once? I think that needs to change.

Admittedly, I don't remember it being any different in Morrowind. But I haven't played it for a very, very long time.

Yeah, I was hoping that the side quests and factions would have more impact on the main quest. And even on each other too. If you do all the mages guild quests and then the thieves guild ones, you end up having to steal from yourself ^^
Methredhel tells you the hours that the arch mage is in the tower, and I was just like, "No, I am the arch amge so I should know"

No, it wasn't really. Same leveling, not sure the enemies had so much scaling though. Enemy level scaling is good but it needs boundaries, e.g these highwayman can be levels 1-8, but get no stronger than that. Meanwhile some big nasty daedra can be between 20-40 etc. It's almost pointless to level if every enemy in the game scales up to maintain the same power ratio. It's okay to let the character actually feel powerful after you've been through Oblivion a bunch of times to close the gates.

Then there were the story concerns. If you did a lot of sidequests and leveled a bunch, it made the story much harder. You remember near the end when you have to protect Martin along with a big group of various allies from a massive oblivion gate? The enemies that come out of that gate have level scaled with you...the NPCs on your side (including Martin) have not. This section can be made almost impossibly hard by over-leveling as the NPCs will drop in one hit and you have to fend of 30 enemies alone.

The thing with the leveling is you can screw yourself out of more attributes. You know how you can get up to a x5 token to spend on an attribute? If you leveled a bunch of different skills once, your resulting character level up would only get x2 tokens to put down on attributes. It kinda forces you to train only two types of skill per level in order to receive the x5 stat boosts. I like the idea in theory, but the mechanics need some tweaking.

I hate quests where you have to work with someone else, or protect someone. They always slow me down and it's such a bother having them around because I quite often accidentally hit bystanders when I fight ^^
I used the construction set to make these scrolls which makes the person i cast it on invincible for 15 minutes. That's what I use if I have to protect someone. I also have scrolls to turn someone else invisible for 2 minutes ^.^

See, in Morrowind you can do that without needing the construction set, it's actually part of the game. Alchemy and enchanting in Morrowind were incredible. I mean, you could take on (and kill) a god in order to acquire a soul powerful enough to enchant your sword with permanent flames and life drain, or your boots with permanent super speed and jump height, or any number of combinations you could think up. A very wide range of potions that you could make as well, including levitation that was dropped from Oblivion because their fancy new engine couldn't handle it.

I do admit that the magic in Morrowind was a lot better. As in a lot better. I used to have endless fun with the different spells (especially hoptoad).
I never really used magic though. I played about with it, but that was really it. I did like the enchanting system on Morrowind too. In Oblivion, any enchantment on Apparel has to be constant effect, and so on. That gets kinda annoying.
But Oblivion also makes it easier to fight with weapons and magic at the same time. You can wield a weapon and still cast spells at the same time.
