Evans are weak at lower levels... Magic Guard Skill can only be used up to 5th skill level unless you buy the mastery books from cash shop which sucks. I found some awesome equips for my Evan -- he still has his Nocturnal Staff which are hard to find and have gotten some good results with scrolls-- then he also has the Evil Tail Wand which is a rare wand and it raises INT pretty well.

I played last night some -- but instead of leveling and finishing the task of taking care of my Wild Hunter and Mechanic -- I made a Fire/Poison Mage on Windia to fill my third slot there.

Clerics are great characters to play because everyone wants them in PQs... I have always thought Clerics should be moved to Amoria and make them servants of the Goddess and then add Earth/Wind Mages to the Mage trio.
Clerics should also get some new equips that are specifically made for them and them only so they can be a bit more distinguishable. Playing Clerics can be a challenge I have one at level 60 at the moment and that character is on Scania along with six others. Scania is my favorite server overall.

Poison mage? Do they really use poison damage over time skills?

That would be nice... make a healing class all on it's own. then it could instead of nuking with mage skills it could have things like smite and stuff

MS is a lot better than before.... thankfully. but right after that big server maintenance they kept kicking me saying I was hacking O.o and I was most definitely not.

Question about evan... o.o do they ever get rollover sp? Seems so far I've had to spend the sp I get on the section I get it on.

Yes, Magic Guard is mana to hit points skill... Fire/Poison Mages are the strongest in the game in my opinion. Although my Ice/Lightning Mage is pretty tough. Yes poison skills are awesome in that they do damage afterwards.

They do have a healing class, the clerics, which are holy attributes -- they call them mages but they really aren't. If it says GM Police kick you for the hack reason, its because it does that to everyone its a glitch that happens randomly to users and its not a ban all you have to do is log back in. It's happen to me before too.

As for the Evans, I don't think they roll over and some skills you have to buy the mastery books from the cash shop also Dual Bladers are notorious for needing cash shop mastery books as well-- this is where Nexon makes their money.

Halloween Event is starting up within a day or so as well.

Yea they just had an exclusive patch released called Rise of the Fellowship which allows you to have familiars. They have announced it on the website now.
Fire/Poison Mages seem to be the most powerful -- Ice/Lightning are strong and were before Ascension but the Fire/Poison Mages were nerfed some then rebuffed back. Pre Big Bang they were definitely the strongest.

I think Evans and Dualbades get shafted because you have to buy mastery books as far as I know they are the only classes you have to do that for.

@ Kole - So far my Evan (53ish) hasn't needed a book yet. Any idea when they start? My Dual Blade needed one by like lv 30 :( (too poor and unable to figure out the market in MS though)

Well getting the 20 Mastery for Magic Guard is one that would help with Evans -- not sure what other skills... Dual Blades are ridiculous. Best thing to do is to do boss battling and hope you get a drop. It sucks both can't think of other ways, I'm not exactly rich either on Windia. On Scania I would say I have a decent amount but not ungodly like some users.

A DIVINE MESSAGE


As the time continued on the Black Mage gained in power bringing more minions and mutating monsters into horribly powerful evil creatures. With the Cygnus Knights failing, the Explorers fighting back to the wall, the Resistance on the front lines fighting the Black Wings on their home front, and the heroes spread thin, the Goddess has finally decided it was time she intervined.
The Goddess watched her children from her tower as things did not look good. The heroes weren’t appearing fast enough. Aran has been busy fighting hoards of the Black Mages minions while on a personal self-discovery quest, while Evan, still a child, was fighting bravely with Mir trying to help alleviate some of the burden off of the Explorers. The Dual Blades, the disenfranchised lot they were, were given a run for their money as well along with the leader and her entourage.
The Goddess continued her watch and finally summoned one of her loyal angels to go see Grendel the Old in Ellinia. “The time has come for the Divine Light to openly oppose the darkness” she smiled benevolently. Tell Grendel what I have told you, and take this holy symbol to the church. ”The time has come for our Revival!” The Angel nodded his face in agreement taking the symbol and within an instant, he disappeared to make his journey to Ellina. Minerva, watched as her servant disappeared against the dark skies and began to reflect on the upcoming battles ahead…
Swiftly the angel flew from Orbis at lightning speed, but little did he know that summoned demons of the netherworld were following at a distance. What seemed like an eternity to the average citizen of Victoria Island, took only but a couple hours. Grendel the Old sat pouring over his books in his library, one in particular as he smoked his pipe. He chuckled to himself as he looked up and in a bright flash of light he sat face to face with one of the Goddesses angels. “What do I owe this honor to be graced by such a divine presence?” The angel threw back his white hair and smiled benevolently, “Our Goddess has decided that it was time to reveal the location of the Staff of Angels and the Sword of Judgment.” Grendel’s demeanor turned more serious realizing what he already knew, that the world of Maple’s crisis was about to go from serious to dire. “I’ve studied about those Holy Relics, the church has documents of them in the Catacombs of the Cathedral in Amoria” Grendel replied. “Indeed, only a Holy Warrior and a member of the Clergy together can open the door to the catacombs beneath the cathedral” the angel spoke. “The members of the Church must begin purging the darkness from the world and take some of the responsibility off your shoulders” he finished. Grendel nodded and suddenly screams could be heard from outside. “Heed me!” Grendel shouted as his staff flew to his hands and he quickly teleported outside of his study. “Hey! Are you going to help us or what?! Balrogs are getting ready to attack us!” Wing snarled as a flock of Balrogs were heading from the direction of Orbis. The Fairies of Ellinia began to panic as did the beginning magicians as they scrambled trying to hide for cover. A group of Ice/Lightning and Fire/Poison Wizards were already preparing to fight. Only but a few Clerics remained in Ellinia as they were preparing to heal the injured and pray to their Goddess for her protection. “The Black Mage sends his envoy” The angel said non chalantly. All the stronger Mages and Arch Mages were scattered around Ossyria training and helping with the fight against the Black Mages minions all around the world. “I see…” Grendel said preparing himself for battle. The angel pulled out a bright white bow with golden arrows. Wing flew above the Canopy of the Forest counting the Balrogs. “OMG! There are too many!” he panicked. He quickly flew down. “Grendel! Th-th-there are countless Balrogs!! Will our fairy magic and the magic of you and your students be enough to quell this invasion?!” Grendel’s calm demeanor didn’t appease Wing as he fluttered around with his wand. “Calm down Wing, help is on the way...” Mar said calmly as she joined them. “From where?!” Wing demanded.

I love maple story a lot but somehow, I miss the old maple where there is only the adventurers, big bang totally wiped off the whole old maple and I'm pretty sad about it.

My highest leveled character is a Bandit, lvl 45. (Delphinus)

But I think I will be sticking to my dual blade for quite a while since I got that REG hair coupon, all of the spell books and some cash items for free. I used my REG coupon and I got that one high ponytailed hair with a few beads that tied it together hairstyle, which looks pretty awesome.

I don't really think anyone plays on the SEA maple since you're all probably on the Nexon one.

I started last October when they were doing that Alien event which was so annoying. They had a beauty coupon event which people were changing looks on a minute to minute basis until they found the one they wanted. I miss old maps too. My I/L Arch Mage is now level 122. I worked really hard to get there lol.

Big Bang has made levels so much easier to gain. I did a lot of PQs and PVP which have basically made it really easy to gain a level for some PQs you can gain as much as 1.2 Million EXP points

Ahh, I used to/sometimes play Maplestory </3
But now it won't download on my desktop computer for some reason with that dumb new downloader, so I haven't been able to get back to it.

I had a oh, I forget, 70? 80ish? certainly no more than that- I/L on Broa as my main, but the whole grinding and then the new overpowered classes killed my mood (I started shortly after it went out of beta and got to 60ish when it was still HELL to do it, now it's so much easier, I got at least 2-3 characters in 50 lol).
I wanted to try it again now that I hear BB balanced the classes but ugh... can't download.

Yes, BB really has made people either really love it or hate it. I myself cant ever get away from the game as it is my favorite. Despite all the new classes they have I still like my I/L Arch Mage the best which is now level 141. Im in Italy right now and leftt my laptop back home so i wouldnt lose it. Im seriously going through some maple withdraw right now and missing the global 7th anniversary.

What server are you on? You should definitely start playing again, you can get to 100 fairly easy now.

I'm actually thinking about playing Maplestory again, since I'm on summer break. I definitly love this game, but it gets tiresome when it has issues of disconnecting you, or something else and that's when I usually flake out.

The only issue I have with it, when you stop playing for a couple of years, and start again, everything is entirely different and its hard to catch up. I've started playing when the cash shop wasn't out yet, and all girls would have red eyes, and I think the boys had blue?..

Well, if I start up again, I'd definitly like some friends on there. (I find it so hard now, to make friends in game.) I play on Scania since it was the only server when I started to play.

Yea connectivity issues really suck. They are starting to really improve on PR and I haven't had too many issues, but as of right now I'm in Italy and won't be able to play until the end of June when I return back Stateside. I'm on Scania as well-- there are tons of other servers and leveling is faster now actually. What class were you?

Right now, I'm still a Chief Bandit. I'm level... 88? I remember last time I was trying to find the color of armor for level 90 I wanted. I usually like killing the monster that drops my armor just to save mesos and it's how I usually train. But, I ended up leveling faster than I anticipated, so I had to resort to the FM to buy.

That was another thing too, in the FM, when the hackers get really bad. I always hated the hacker scares. I remember the last one I've encountered where, a bunch of people got a hold of a d/c hack. Oh my god. I don't understand the point of hackers sometimes. Especially when they go after other users.

I also have other characters in the other servers, I think the last one I've seen was Windia or Khania.. but they're all below 30, and too my main character is in Scania and that's where I've usually play in.

Chief Bandits seem cool... the only thief class I have played is a Dual Blade which is level 40 at the moment. I need to give the other classes a try but I have almost 15 characters between two different accounts. I do my best to stay away from the free market. By playing from other characters I try to pass items down to other characters from other accounts that I find.

Hackers are getting extremely vindictive as Nexon has really tried to hit them hard. They get mad and cause Nexon lots of problems. Nexon has a lawsuit going on last I heard but havent heard anymore about it since.

I can not wait to see what the Thief Resistance character will be like, but this month about the middle, the new Hero Thief class called the Phantom is coming out which is highly anticipated at the moment and all legend characters will be able to be created during this time. So if you do not have a Demon Slayer, Canon Shooter, or Mercedes ... you will get another chance before they remove them again for another period of time.

I have a handful of characters on Windia, I have a priestess character which is level 91 at the moment. I have no problem leveling her up as Holy Symbols make them a very covetted party member in any PQ.

Yeah, I think I chose the class because so many picked Assassin, I wanted to be something different. I also like the thief's armors so that was another influence to weigh on my decision.

I'm pretty sure I have a demon slayer, but I'm not sure. I get lost in all the new classes, and I pretty much end up abandoning them cause I'd rather level up on my main and get to explore new areas that I was too low to reach or survive.

I have actually never played in a PQ before.. I just feel like people are so pushy and impatient and I just can't deal with that especially if I'm not an "expert". I do like to look at them through Hidden-street and I know what to do but I just get too anxious and worried I'll fall behind and possibly yelled at. I've basically leveled up through quests and normal grinding. XD

Otherwise, I just like to sit around in towns with my boyfriend. If we can get a large enough group of friends to come on, we'll play Hide n' Go Seek. Or follow people around, F5'ing them.

That sounds like fun, yea pqs can be pretty stressful when others want you to be the best and have a high DPS. If not they are just plain rude and I would just like to smack them one good time and make them realize how rude they are.
I will eventually make one of every class, but they are coming out so fast I'm falling way behind. I think after I get my Dawn Warrior to 120 I make go ahead and make my Ultimate Explorer then my Phantom when it comes out later this month and chill on making any new classes until I get my main to level 150 at least. Then I may play my Evan which is currently at level 95.

I started playing years and years ago and I pick it up every now and then. However there was a span of maybe 4 or 5 months where I stopped playing because I had a full time job (still do) and just lost interest, I came back and my account had been hacked for the first time ever and I lost millions. On top of that I'm around 115 on an Aran which has taken me forever since I'm a casual player and I have never played with anyone, and now with the latest patches my build is messed up and I have no idea what I'm doing. I tried going on it yesterday and just felt so lost I gave up and exited.
