So I'm a big fan of strategy based games.

My personal favorite game is Age Of Empires by Ensemble Studios (which has been disbanded and the series was picked up by huge games I believe) I personally am hoping for a forth one to come out but as of right now Huge isn't letting any information out on said game. Back on track here tho. I love these games because it gives you the bare necessities to get started and you get to see your empire grow and expand until it is an unbeatable force that no one can stop (only happens a few times for me)

So I was playing this game last night (after I got tired of throwing my controller to Link of course) and I made one of these forces. I was funding my entire team keeping them alive (I play online allllllll the time) and I was still filthy sticken rich. My teammates were running in and getting there butts destroyed while I would send in perfectly executed attacks that would demolish. It was probably on of my best games. My armies were as balanced as they could be. My horses couldn't get hit by pikemen. my cannons couldn't get hit by Horses and my pike couldn't get hit by skirmish. All was perfect. My 50 villagers were making so much resources that my population never dropped below 150 (for anyone that plays I use the dutch all the time)

But at any rate I'm done bragging about my game last night. On to the next part of this. This is a game that I have watched evolve over 3 different generations of this game. The first and second were fairly similar but the third was a big change. Tho it is fun The second is still my favorite.

Does anyone else play this game or games like it? Have you seen the evolution over time? Do you think it changed for the better or worse? Do you just want to talk about it? If i haven't played it I'll do some research and try to find out information on it. These are my games and I would like to learn about some new ones (or possibly old ones that are still popular). Maybe even find out information about Age of Empires 4 (if there is any).

I love strategy based games too, I wouldn't say that I'm very good at them. I'm ok.. I haven't had a lot of time lately so haven't played so much. I love AoE2, haven't played the third one tho. Ever played Sid Meier's? That's the game that I've been playing the most lately, it's ok. and... oh yeah I was signed up for the beta of a mmorpg that apparently was supposed to have a Dota inspired part, but it got screwed up when my computer crashed...

I have not. What is this game about? Is it simulator to AOE? or is it different?
