Top 5 Games of All Time?
What are your top five favorite games of all time? They don't have to be the "best" games--just the ones you've always had the most fun playing. Here are mine:
#5 Persona 4 #4 Tales of the Abyss #3 Ocarina of Time #2 Super Mario Bros. 3 #1 Final Fantasy VII |
The Halo series.
I grew up with the game which is why I'm so fond of it. I remembered buying Halo Combat Evolved for the first time when it was first released. It was amazing. The first game I ever played that had me awestruck. When Halo Reach came out as the final game created by Bungie...I cried. The game that grew up alongside me was no longer going to be made by the company that started it all. I'm sure Microsoft will continue to milk the series out, but it won't be the same anymore without Bungie's touch. |
Yeah, it completely sucks when great game franchises are sold to companies that make them ridiculous. Like, the Silent Hill series? I'm not even that into the series, but ever since it changed hands Silent Hill's been going way downhill.

Uhmmm
1. Mass Effect 2 2. Mass Effect 1 3. Fable 2 4. Sims 3 5. Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb (That's just original xbox) |
Hmm...this is a toughie. But if I had to choose ones that gave me the most enjoyment:
1. Mass Effect series 2. Dragon Age: Origins 3. Borderlands 4. Tales series 5. Modern Warfare 2 |
Hey, no fair, Draciolus! You can't pick the entire Tales series! :D
I love those games, man. No matter what the story's like, I always enjoy a Tales game. For some reason I didn't like Vesperia quite as much though. |
Of course you can pick an entire series. :P
And Im currently re-playing Vesperia right now. I found it to have a nice story line, awsome characters, and nice graphics. What didnt you like about it? |
I've been trying to figure that out myself. Ususally I eat these games up. Maybe it was just that I've played so many of them that it didn't have the same impact it would have otherwise? I found the characters in Tales of the Abyss to be a lot more interesting, and the dungeons and plot of both Symphonia games seemed a lot funner. I only got about 20 hours into the game, though, so I might have missed a lot of the good stuff. The thing I love about all of the Tales games is that the story always keeps developing, usually in unexpected ways.
What I really did like about Vesperia, though, was the humor in it. :D It made me laugh just like all the other ones. And the graphics! They's so smooth in this game. |
5.) Devil May Cry 3
4.) Resident Evil 4 3.) Metal Gear Solid 3 2.) Persona 4 1.) Silent Hill 2 Well, with my user name as Yosuke Hanamura you'd think Persona 4 would be in the number one spot, but Silent Hill 2 takes the cake. The reason being is that I still haven't encountered a game that has a story that is (in my opinion) endearing, heartbreaking, and memorable as James' journey through the town. Shattered Memories attempted to do this but failed in certain departments (it lacked the quality and ambiance the previous games had). ...I-I'll stop being pretentious now. |
Yeah, get out of here, we can't have intelligent discussions about games! ;P
Did you ever play Persona 3, Yosuke? How did you like that one? I played FES and got the PSP remake and I gotta say I really like the PSP version. |
1) Deus Ex 1
2) Heroes of Might and Magic 2 3) Unreal Tournament 1 4) Grand Theft Auto 1 5) NBA Jam (Tournament Edition) |

Lame! The PSP version just takes everything great about Persona 3 and intensifies it. They say that the story is different, though, but it really isn't THAT significantly different.
Persona 3 was my first Persona game too. ^^ |
I've never played Persona... what's it about?
|
for me
5 resident 5 4Sims 2 3 fable 2 2 borderlands 1 fable 3 |
5. Guitar Hero/Rock Band series'!
Most innovative game design in years. Its addictive and a great workout (never played ddr, so I can't compare them) So many great ways to play, and with the addition of rock bands accessories (the new one adding keyboards!) it just continues to amaze! 4. Bloody Roar Series! Hands down the greatest fighting game I've ever played. Faster moving than soul calibur with the epic twist that you can transform into an animal! Seemingly endless combos, great evade moves, special move black screens that make your jaw drop to the floor, and addictive enough to have a houseful of friends drooling over the screen for years! 3. Red Dead Redemption! For a newer game, this one far surpasses all of the GTAs! Its replay value became clear to me once I had beaten it. If you've worked your way through to the epic conclusion, you know exactly why the replay value on this game is so high. Great storyline, amazing side quests and all around one of the greatest games of all time! 2. Armored Core For Answer! This game has the highest replay value of any game I've ever played. No matter what, I can always design a new AC that is better than one I've designed before. I've played this game more than any other game. I've gotten the red rings of death on my 360 twice, and even without a system in my home, this game sat there, just waiting for another 360 to appear. I'll never get rid of it, and will always play it. 1. Castlevania: Symphony of the night! I've played through the game approximately 10 times (no kidding) and I've gotten to about 215% game completion using glitches. I've completed the enemy drop list, as well as maxed out Alucard's level along with every one of his familiars. I've played the game on 4 different systems, and no matter what, the game is and always will be my favorite game! |
5. Amazing Island (Don't ask, I don't know why I love it so)
4. Animal Crossing (the original, I dislike the sequels) 3. Super Smash Bros. Melee 2. Super Mario World :D 1. THE ENTIRE LEGEND OF ZELDA SERIES!!! ('nuff said) And I'm curious too, WHat's Personna about? It's not another one of those shoot-zombies-till-they-die games is it? I HATE those! |
i don't know if i can make a top five list, but in my opinion, i'd have to say the best games would include the original sega genesis sonic the hedgehog games. no matter what, those games never get old.
