I believe it was about level 30, 31? It was a really lucky find. D: I was flabbergasted. And then my save data corrupted. My soul cried.

Antagonist 12-04-2012 03:13 PM

Oh wow, I would be so pissed if that happened to my save data. .____.

I really, really want those Daedric armor. Though I also need those Smithing perks because I have like a pile of dragon bones and scales that I've never used. -.-;

@Kole: What series of fanfiction are you writing? Are they posted anywhere? :o

I have a few ideas for Skyrim fanfictions, but haven't been able to map out a plot and storyline that I like yet. xD;;

My fanfictions are posted on the forums in the Literature/fanfiction area... mine are currently on the top of the list

They are Maplestory fanfiction/ and Adventures of Tintin I got a thread posted on each one where people come and ask questions and I discuss my stories with my readers and of course we discuss the actual works as well. Mostly it's all been about Tintin lol I got 7 chapters posted so far.

Antagonist 12-05-2012 12:12 AM

Oh, I don't know much about either unfortunately. > .<;;
I think I read a few Tintin stories around ten years ago, all I remember is this guy who goes on adventure with a white dog, and nothing else. Maplestory I think is an online MMORPG?

Sigh...Both of Skyrim's major questlines annoy me despite my wanting to complete them.
I've already decided to go with the Imperial questline this time around, but I really don't like Titus Mede II (Septim dynasty ftw) so I'm putting it off until I finish the Dark Brotherhood questline just so I could avoid 'pledging loyalty' to the guy when joining. And I hate the Blades. Probably wouldn't have minded so much if Delphine and Esbern didn't insist on the Dragonborn killing Paarthunax or else giving the player the 'silent treatment'. I just don't want to deal with them and would gladly kill them just so I didn't have to see them again if they weren't essential and a major part of the questline. So now I'm stuck at the part where I've already cleared out Fort Hraagstad for the Imperials but haven't reported back in to officially join, and at the part right before Diplomatic Immunity because I just don't feel like meeting up with Delphine back in Riverwood. >.>

I'll get there eventually. Yes...eventually...

Antagonist 12-19-2012 11:40 AM

Has anyone got the Dragonborn plug-in? Any thoughts on it? I'm still debating on whether or not to get it.

caseyur 01-21-2013 04:01 PM

Im an imperial thief, rolling as a merchant. working only on speech, barter, luck, and health (for carrying more things) I mastered the game before and again. So i figured ill just make a merchant and get really really rich. :)

Antagonist 01-25-2013 10:43 AM

I thought stamina's the stat that allows you to carry more stuff? [:O]
As a master Smith and Enchanter, I have more gold than I'll ever need in the game. My Nord has over twenty million Septims the last time I checked, and it grows by the thousand every time I finish plunging through another cave or fort. [sweat]
Always thought there's something wrong with the game's economy because of how easy the player can destroy it. [lol] 20,000 gold for the assassination of multiple powerful people including the emperor of Tamriel? Just smith 10 rings/necklaces and then enchant them with a filled Grand soul gem with a grand soul in it with a master Enchanter, and voila, they're all worth 2,000 to 3,000 gold each. [XD];

Edwina Gein 01-29-2013 09:07 PM

Every time you level Stamina, your carry weight goes up. There's also The Steed Stone effect and a Pickpocket perk that add another 100 each. Steed Stone's helpful if you wear heavy armor and loot a lot because it makes your armor weightless.

Anywho, I'm having trouble deciding on whether to play through Dawnguard or Dragonborn first. I kept a Silver Greatsword and gave it the Silent Moons enchantment so I'm all set for killing vampires, but Solstheim has new alchemy ingredients. Choices, choices.

Antagonist 01-30-2013 03:44 AM

I usually decide what to do by wandering around doing other smaller quests, and then when I'm done, open up the map to see which major quest's location I'm closer at. xD

Yeah, the steed stone and the pickpocket perk helps a lot. Also deciding on whether you want to take up an enchantment slot or not, you could also add some carry weight to your armors and amulets too. I tend to focus on fortifying my Archery and Sneak skills, especially sneak. <33

Am debating on joining Dawnguard or the Volkihar...on one hand, I haven't played through the Dawnguard questline yet, and I'm interested in some of the quests they can do. On the other hand, vampires. I love playing as a vampire, and the Vampire Lord form is so cool even if their skills are rather badly stacked.

caseyur 02-01-2013 04:05 PM

My first character was a woodelf mage, that joined the stormcloak rebellion. He got out of control quickly, i wanted a realistic play and that character was just pwning everything so fast that it took no school on hard. But a started an imperial merchant/thief up and its actually really fun. I think hes lvl 12 now.

Antagonist 02-03-2013 02:06 PM

Ah, yeah. The over-powered bit. [sweat] Had that problem with most of my characters, actually. [lol] Reading the adventures of Nordric the Nord helped a lot, I try to do things more patiently now instead of jumping everywhere like before. (literally, thanks to console codes)

I need to get back to my Altmer, poor guy's been so neglected ever since I downloaded an old game that I had always been fond of, Monopoly 4. [ninja];;

Captain Howdy 04-03-2014 09:00 AM

I'm always late to the party. [sweat]

Anyone still playing Skyrim?

I got the Legendary edition for Christmas and, after a break, have recently picked it up again.

My character is a Breton. A level 47 Spellsword, a cross between warrior and mage. I intended to focus mainly on destruction and conjuration, but my one-handed skill is much higher. It's almost maxed out. :B

ISOS Duke 04-03-2014 11:15 AM

I'm still playing Skyrim (at least until tomorrow: yay for ESO)! I play an Altmer mage/archer and she's level 40-something, I don't remember what at this point... I focus on destro/conjur for her as well, though I do tamper with things like altercation (I think it is) when I can see, or another class for quest locations.

I've become the leader of the theives guild, dark brotherhood, and the mages college on this character. I'm slowly trying to complete many quests as I can, though I poorly timed one of the story-line quests and lost another minor quest due to kicking the Imperials out of Markarth. I ended up siding with the Imperials, though I was making choices up at random at one point >.>

Captain Howdy 04-03-2014 10:22 PM

Right now my character is the archmage of Winterhold and the head of the Companions. I wanted to focus on magic, but I find that i'm dabbling in lots of things. I just maxed out my enchanting skills.

I joined the Stormcloaks. The Nords are hella racist, but I didn't take kindly to the Imperials trying to execute me. [lol]

I'm trying carefully to make sure I don't miss things. During a Winterhold quest, I was unsuccessful in saving a townsperson. No matter how many times I reloaded and rushed down to save him. D:

ISOS Duke 04-08-2014 12:24 AM

The Companions are one of the few things I haven't done yet.

My first character I was going to join the Stormcloaks but I ended up making a new character and followed the Imperial guy out of Helgen. After I did that I wanted to marry him, but of course, he's one of the few men you can't marry in that game...

I wanted to focus on magic but no matter how much I boost my mana (and I'm an elf on top of it), I don't have enough magika to last a battle most of the time. Plus, my bow is much more powerful.

I don't recall the people in Winterhold... I do know I saved the person in Windhelm during... During... It was some quest chain about murders, that's all I remember at this point...

Crimson Fang 04-08-2014 02:21 PM

You are all making me want to get back into Skyrim again. Not too long ago I finally got around to purchasing the legendary edition for PS3. Had previously played it on my former flatmate's 360 (not the legendary edition). Didn't complete it though. If I recall my current build is aimed more at thief skills. A bit of a change.

Captain Howdy 04-10-2014 10:45 PM

@ISOS Duke ~ I know which quest you're talking about. The one about the serial killer. I had to do that last bit twice cause I didn't save her in time. :B

I've invested a fair amount in Health. Stamina, not so much, as i've found it doesn't contribute a lot to how i'm playing. Most of my level ups have gone toward Magicka, and i've been enchanting apparel to raise it more. Plus i've got it to the point where it regenerates pretty quickly.

How is ESO so far?

@Crimson Fang ~ I've only recently started trying my hand at pickpocketing. Jarls are easy picking when they're asleep. [lol]

ElysiumFate 04-11-2014 06:14 AM

I haven't played Skyrim since last summer, but I still love it. I'd like to play it some in my spare time again.

I have a level 55 imperial who has cleared the whole game. She is basically god of Skyrim. She's the archmage, guildmaster, the listener and leader of the Dark Brotherhood, and so on and so forth. She has also completed Dragonborn, Hearthfire, and Dawnguard. I spent a lot of time on her. She's done in Alduin as well. I was so overpowered at the point I took him on that he basically took three strikes to kill.

My current character is a level 27 Breton who I'm playing as a good guy except for the fact she's going for guildmaster because the thieve's guild is my favorite quest line.

ISOS Duke 04-11-2014 11:39 AM

@Howdy: I enjoy it quite a bit. It doesn't have the same dark 'everything is out to get you' feel like your single player Elder Scroll games, but for an MMO, it does still feel like one. Being an MMO seems to make the game a lot easier, but then again, I am playing with other people too... I was wanting a multi-player Skyrim when it was announced, so for me it's perfect.

@Fate: O.O That's quite the Imperial you have there! I know it took me a little bit to take out Alduin, but that's because I really wanted to use magic when my bow is much more powerful...

ElysiumFate 04-12-2014 05:15 AM

Ach, I wish I could take that Imperial and play the game over with her. She was sooo much fun to play. By the end she was an utter asshat but it was amazing to be so powerful.

I can't seem to get into magic. I always try to in every game that has magic as an option but it's so hard to level. I always end up doing two handed or one handed with two swords.

Ah nice, I will be sure to remember that. At the moment my pickpocket is quite low. My sneak is in the 60s though. It amazes me how quickly it gains levels. Although I am quite thankful, as the stealth kill has saved me multiple times already. I am finding this approach to be incredibly interesting. Surprised I never really gave it a go before. o.o

That amazes me, as I find the exact opposite to be the case for me. When playing as a magic class, which is my preference, I find the game to usually lean towards being too easy. If I try to play a more combat focussed class I tend to find it very hard going.

ElysiumFate 04-12-2014 06:46 AM

@Crimson: I've always found magic characters squishy and I have a hard time keeping them alive. I also like to be in the middle of the action, which is something you just can't do with squishy characters.

I like the overpowered weapons and armor that you get with melee characters, too. I dunno, for me it's just easier to keep them alive and do severe damage from the beginning. I think maybe magic characters take more patience than I have. [lol]

Captain Howdy 04-13-2014 02:39 AM

I've always liked the idea of a character that is both good with magic and a sword, and Skyrim has allowed me to do that perfectly. More so than any game i've played before.

My Breton is now level 56, and he recently maxed his smithing skill. So I made me some dragon scale armor. ;D

I've also acquired the master destruction spells and plan to next search out the conjuration ones.

ElysiumFate 04-13-2014 11:45 PM

I have been attempting to make my current Breton a dual sword and destruction magic user. It's been hard going for me with the magic, as always, but I'm actually getting somewhere with the destruction magic.

I just buy all the spells in the beginning from the mage in the castle in Whiterun.

That is quite understandable. I tend to be much more timid in my approach. Preferring to keep some distance between myself and those trying to kill me. I typically favour a combination of conjuration and destruction as a result. The ease I referred to is how I can effectively reach a point where I am taking minimal part in the fighting. Just walk through the dungeon following the trail of bodies left by my summons. Every now and then hitting one with a fire spell. :P

As for the armour side of things, you are quite right. I quite like it though. So make no attempts to fortify myself. I find the idea of being super powerful in offense, but made of glass in defense to be quite interesting. While I can comfortably make it through the game, if I am caught off guard by an ambush then it doesn't go well for me. Can make the game more exciting.

I sometimes throw some other skills in there. Usually when I am quite far into the game. Although it went disastrously for me on Skyrim. Was so unaccustomed to fighting up close, that I kept accidentally attacking my allies. (>.<)
