Can you get the grass to regrow?

Supposedly if you just stay off it, it will regrow. But it takes a long while from what I've read. Some folks have posted that watering it helps. I also read that placing a pattern on top of turf will preserve the grass directly underneath, so some people temporarily cover theirs as it grows back in to make sure it stays safe.

I hadn't been paying attention to mine at all until now, and there are a lot of bare earth areas in my town. [oops]

Yeah I haven't been worrying about it too much either. I do have quite a few bare patches....also when people move from your town, they leave a bare patch where their house is.

Speaking of which I ended up getting Bob from Moonglow moving in. He is a very interesting neighbor. I love that he's a kitty though. Trying really hard to get his photo. :3

Aww, that's cute that he went to your town! I had a hard time letting him go, but he kept giving me the speech of wanting to experience life so I finally just stayed off the game until he'd made it out. Maybe I'll come visit him sometime. :)

Roscoe, on the other hand...talked about leaving, I told him bon voyage (as he personally creeps me out) and he's like 'ohh I see what you're trying to do -- get rid of me!' and stayed.

Did somebody loose Stinky? I'm wondering where he came from, because he said he knew me. :/

What about laying down grassy paths? I've seen lots of towns like that.

I heard that if you place flowers on dirt patches and water them it grows twice as fast.

I think stinky was camping at my place, but he's never lived there. Maybe that's why he has some memories?

Ohh I may try to grow some flowers and see if it helps my bare lawns.

My brother has Stinky, and I thought it was his, but he isn't. Brother still has Stinky in his town. Strange. He also says "ponponwei"

Nothing really big going on in my town today. Just did a couple errands, and got my freebies from shaking trees/hitting rocks. I haven't gone to the island in a long long time. I need to as I'm still missing the mermaid wardrobe, bed and I think something else? I really should make myself a list so I can pop in now and again to check what's on sale there. I just haven't had a whole lot of time to devote to the game.

Oh my husband absolutely loves the Cap'n. He says he is 'the best part' of the game and has his text tone to part of the song he sings. He's talking about dressing up as him for the next local anime convention and finding a ukelele to walk around with. The funny thing is he really can't bring himself to actually play the game for any great length.

That's funny, I freaking hate Cap'n and his weird gender crap he always tries to lay on me. [lol] I will spam buttons until he shuts his piehole. Would be a hilarious cosplay though, especially if he sang ridiculous songs. :)

I'm on the fence about the Cap'n. He can get annoying when you're making daily trips, and I definitely see what Belly means about all the gender remarks. I think it's cute that he just sings about a bunch of random stuff and it always seems to fit with song. I kind of hope that Nintendo do an update to add some more, but then also make it easier to get him to shut up on those days you really don't want to hear it. :P

Man, Kapp'n is one seedy creature. His family seems really lovely however, haha.
A Kapp'n cosplay would be fantastic though! I saw pictures of a K.K Slider and Isabelle cosplay, it'd be cool to see more Animal Crossing cosplays out there!

I really want to get my paths laid before winter because I hate hate hate grass deterioration. In ac city folk my grass died after playing through December and it was horrible. Thankfully the deterioration isn't as harsh in new leaf but its still not a nice feature.

I really like the colour that the trees are at the moment!

I didn't know the grass went away. I guess that's why i've been seeing so many "patterns" for grass on tumblr. I might end up laying down grass paths also because it seems like my grass is vanishing. Strange, because I don't run around and boys haven't been playing. :(

You don't need to run for the grass to wear. I never run because it will wear easier if I did. A part of the deterioration is actually unavoidable, grass will change as you play to make your town realistic and stuff. ^^ however that doesn't mean only the areas you walk on will wear, because sometimes it is random and patches of soil will spread or appear in different places.

It will grow back with rain and snow, also when watering flowers on top of the soil areas. And with less walking on those parts.

And lastly of what I remember, the grass wears at a %percentage of your play time each time you go on the game, which means those that like to play in short bursts more than once a day will suffer more from it more.

In City Folk I spent every day watering the patches until I realised it was becoming tiresome to actually play! It should be fun!

But despite all that I think you shouldn't worry too much about the grass, it only gets you down. Some people like the soil because it shows their town is loved!

I guess that's true! I have plenty of flowers and bamboo to make up for the grass...

I'm glad Mina is moving. I've never really liked her. To me, she just doesn't have... character.

Also, I need to get my main's house expanded more before Nekocon; I have enough to pay off my current one NOW, but...

Does anyone happen to know what the bank's interest rate is? I think it's between one and five percent a month, but I'm not sure.

I have a couple extra slushie machines if someone is in need of one. (They're the third item from McD's)

Also llonka will be happy to know that Bill is leaving my town on the 20th -- there is a chance that she may get him. I'm pretty sure he's mentioned speaking with her, and I know how much she loves him. :)
