Choose One.
You are locked in a room, with a simple choice before you. You cannot pick anything else, or find another way out. Which would you brave using the Oculus Rift, being forced to play it from start to finish without being able to take off the the rift or headphones? Amnesia: The Dark Descent or Outlast.
This isn't a think fast, you can take your time deciding. To join in on this myself, I would pick Outlast. If I was forced to play a horror game without being able to leave, I'd rather deal with that game, even if both scare me equally. |
Rift because being able to play from start to finish without brakes would mean that the eventual horror element of the game would wear off as you adjust to the expectations of the game. So it could be either, really.
I'd go with Amnesia though because i've played it before. |
That isn't 100% true, It could make it worse that you can't run away from it if it gets to much. YOu are forced to face it head on. Even if played before, some games are still terrifying.

Well i'm talking with a psychological point of view in that after experiencing something before and constantly learning the intricacies of something then you'll eventually know the formula and thus it'll become less scary because of knowing what is expected of the game.
Now if I was to play it without playing before then maybe it wouldn't be the case and plus the same logic wouldn't apply exactly because...well...yeah...not knowing the intricacies of the game. |
