Fire Emblem

This board is lacking a topic for the series, so I shall make one. =3

Anyone play any of the Fire Emblem games at all? In my opinion, it's one of the best (and fairly overlooked) strategy RPG series around. In particular I like the huge choice of characters to use and the support conversations, but that's just me. XP

So yes. Feel free to discuss Fire Emblem in all its glory, be it the Japan-exclusive games, the three that came out in English, or the upcoming Wii title!

Also, for Smash Bros. fans, any particular characters you want to see in Brawl? Or expect to see? =3 I'm thinking, if anyone is added, it'll be Ike.

Doofus Soda 04-14-2007 05:31 AM

  • I love Fire Emblem. *Drool*
Although I can't seem to find any of the games. >w>

I can't wait for Goddess of War to come out! >__< I think Fire Emblem is a really good strategy RPG series; and I have to agree it's probably the best.

    They need to have Ike and Ephraim in Brawl; but I doubt they will. ;o;

Ephraim is probably my favorite character. Then Lyon, then Knoll, then Matthew, and finally Ike. Actually I like most characters fairly equal to one another. They all just rock. >__<

Serra's whiny though. I would shoot her with some fire magic if I were Erk. D8<

Treesan 04-14-2007 07:06 AM

I have every Fire Emblem game that has released in the US so far.
I very much enjoy the series. Sacred Stones was a bit too easy for a Fire Emblem game. Path of Radience is awesome.

And I'm stoked for Goddess of Dawn, it is supposed to have the most missions ever in a Fire Emblem game.

Ponder 04-14-2007 07:40 PM

Wahey, this topic actually got a response! =O Joy!

@ Doofus: Yeah, I love Lyon. =O And Ephraim's awesome, if only for the lance. XP And I agree; Serra needs to be shot.

@ Treesan: Yeah, Sacred Stones was waaay too easy. And short! If Goddess of Dawn has a ton of missions though, then that oughta rock. =3 Also, I know quite a lot of characters from Path of Radiance make a return, which is pretty awesome.

  • Mia grows breasts in Goddess of War. xD

Sacred Stones was easy; but it was kind of hard to me because it was my first time playing the Fire Emblem series. But after I beat it the first time; I easily beat it 3-4 times after. Cx

mooglebunny 04-16-2007 05:56 PM

I've only played FE: The Sacred Stones for the GBA, but I really like the game. It can be very challenging at certain places if you first play it. I've read a lot about the Japanese games starting back to the Famicom. xD I am probably going to buy the ones that come out on the DS, because I like them. I really wanted to play Path of Radience, but I have not a gamecube. xD 8)

Catonia 04-16-2007 10:24 PM

I have all the ones out so far. >w< I love playing them, but I lost both of my games for the GBA and I really want to play on them! Rcently I've been playing on Path of Radience, but I'm not very far yet ^^;

Goddess of War? This is the first I've heard of the game. o.o Now I want a Wii even more! <3

Buckwheat Noodles 04-18-2007 09:03 PM

I wondered if I'd see a thread for Fire Emblem here. X3 Yes! I've played both of the FE games that are available for the Game Boy Advance in America. I believe the first one that came over was FE7... is the second one FE8? I can't remember.

Anyway, FE7 is my favorite so far, though we may see a change if I ever get my hands on any other versions. I have so many favorite characters from that... Matthew the thief, Guy, Sain, Erk... The list is almost endless, I tell you.

musado 04-21-2007 06:34 AM

  • yes! FE! *A*

i still ADORE FF7. i absolutely love the cast, semi-cliched plotline, ughhgghhg everythingg XD

i have yet to play the gamecube ones D': they looked really nice, though.

Hatch 04-26-2007 02:09 PM

Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones just got on my nerves, I hated going through with Erika...>.< But I ADORE with every fiber of my being Path of Radiance ^_^ Albeit you never really got a choice as to who your MVP was ((Or at least I didn't >.<)) Titania was always on my front lines hacking away at whoever got in her way. I'm trying to go back through and save as many people as I possibly can >.< I've got Zihark on my team now, but I missed out on ....(the purple haired chick that was forced to fight you >.< can't remember her name now) Soren has to be my favorite character though.

Doofus Soda 04-28-2007 03:02 PM

  • A bad thing about Goddess of War though is that you might need a classic controller to play. That's what I heard at least.

The "experience-stealers" are certainly annoying. >__> Always there to kill the enemies. xD But then in places you are stuck, it's great to use them. BD

Sacred Stones was probably the easiest game out of all of them. You could store items whenever you wanted, and take them out through your lord, instead of having to have a tent to keep everything in. It was also only 20 chapters, making it easy to complete.

Path of Radiance was probably the most interactive game because there was a lot of things you could do. One thing I didn't like about that game was the support things, where people talk to each other. Also, that one small battlefield that you could play after you completed the game, that was fun also. o:

Plastic Orgasm 04-29-2007 04:43 PM

I have Fire Emblem for GBA, I used to play it a lot and it was really fun.

My friend has Path of Radiance, but he advised me not to get it. He said it was really bad, but I might still try it.

kcchiefs 04-29-2007 05:55 PM

I have Path of Radiance, Sacred Stones, and the original.
They're all awesome but I like Radiance better because it's easier to level up lol.
And Sacred Stones is wayyy to easy, I liked the challenge of the first one, especially having to get Nino to become a level 20 Sage, that's hard.
But if you do, she becomes nearly unstoppable!

Lehila 06-16-2007 07:34 AM

i like fire emblem, it's one of the not so many games that got me hooked for more than one week XD see, i tend to get bored easily when it comes to games ^^;

Marguerite Blakeney 06-17-2007 06:24 AM

I've heard of it but no, I've actually never played the series.

A funny thing happened when I discovered it though. I googled up my name under the Images section and what did I come across but a character named "Clarine" from The Sealed Sword? Mind you she is one letter off from my actual name but when I found that out I was like, "DAMN! I gotta get this game!" So...ah...I'm sure the actual game is pretty nonexistent now or does anyone know where I can get it? Ebay doesn't seem to be much of help.

fuyumi_saito 10-22-2007 03:28 AM

I love fire emblem. I've played Fire emblem, and fire emblem sacred stones.. I've passed both many times..I'm hoping to get all of the support convos. Though I doubt anything special will happen if I do. I just love all the characters, and their support conversations. They're all so funny.

Plus the shoujo-ai/shounen-ai hints that are there....and the ....Twincest hint in sacred stones..eww.. anyways. Yeah, Raven/Lucius is so obvious. My brother thought Lucius was a girl XD Lol. I knew he was a guy, cause he was a monk...A very pretty boy, I must admit.

I loved Lyn, and many of the other characters. I remember all their personalities and stories..Just not their names. There is so many of them -_-'''

keaton7 12-24-2008 06:24 PM

I'm playing Fire Emblem (the 1st realesed for the GBA I guess) and already finished FE: Sacred Stones, got Lyon and all.
I love these games!
^^

Claribel 02-10-2009 12:06 PM

I've only played the GBA Fire Emblem games and I've yet to finish Fuuin no Tsurugi. I'm only up to like the second chapter, lol. Never have I played a series that made me want to tear my hair out in frustration so many times but it's oh so addictive (except Sacred Stones, the difficulty got toned down quite a lot). The characters are just amazing considering how many there are and I really liked the animations and support conversations. :] Ah I have so many characters that I like: Sain, Hector, Lyn, Priscilla, Ephraim and Gerik just to name a few.

If there's ever another SSB after Brawl, Hector needs to be in it. Seriously. D:

Sho-Shonojo 02-10-2009 08:10 PM

I have got to be the biggest failure at playing Fire Emblem ever. I just can't strategize. I have the one for the Gamecube and I even bought a guidebook for it but I just can't beat it. It's probably because i feel I have to start over everytime someone on my team dies, so I end up repeating the same battle over and over until I make it. It just get exhausting and then I stop playing for months until I pick it back up again. I'm sure I'll beat it one day, just not now.

flowerpuff 02-18-2009 02:12 AM

I love the Fire Emblem series, I also love Soren XD. He's such a cute little boy! I've only beaten Goddess of Dawn but I watched my sister play Path of Radiance when I was smaller. I find the supports hilarious.

Salamander 02-28-2009 11:56 PM

I've played Goddess of Dawn (pretty sure it's called Radiant Dawn though), Path of Radiance, and Sacred Stones. I liked the support conversations in Goddess of Dawn though. They don't have much of a storyline in them (in most cases), but they are pretty humorous when you get to the Ike part.

Peanut 03-31-2009 04:13 AM

I love Fire Emblem so much.
I've played and beaten all the ones in America.
I have one that was only released in japan, but it's been patched to english.
(WIN.)
I haven't beaten it yet though. -lazy-

Only thing is, they're WAY too easy.
Seriously.
It's dissapointing.

Miko Bukake Bath 05-02-2009 08:51 PM

Fire emblem is by far the best turn based strategy game I have ever played. I have played number 6, the two american gameboy versions, and path of radiance. I am hoping to be able to get the wii one soon. My favorite one is the one on the gameboy where there is a tower that you can train your people on. I always hated how You get some really cool character later on in the game that is a low level. Usually it is not even worth leveling them up. Everybody seems to hate how when your character gets taken out they are gone. I like it personally because it makes it so you cannot be an idiot and make it through the game...you actually have to be tactical.

Oh, forgot to post this.

I really want to see Roy back in brawl. Marths attacks are wimpy and he looks like a girl (which creeps me out). I think Lynn should have been a character to select rather than an assist trophy. They also should have made a few Final Fantasy characters too. How cool would it be to bounce around the map as vivi? Don't say "Ow, but that was on the playstation" because so was snake.

xNedra_the_Red_Dragonx 05-20-2009 04:17 AM

I've only played Fire Emblem and The Sacred Stones. But I really want to play Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. D:
