Grandia : D!
This was the first ever RPG I played, when my best friend and I would hog her brother's playstation and do the voices and such.
Has anybody else played it? It's quite old, but I honestly found it as much fun as I found Kingdom Hearts (which I played some years later). |
GRANDIAAAAAAAAAA!
Best.Battle system.EVER. That game was so great. The themes were as corny as they came, but they were so awesome and fun that they felt like something fresh and new. And I loved the graphics system- 2D characters on a 3D environment is always real neat to watch. Grandia 2 was rather disappointing, though. it didn't have any of the magic of the first game (aside from the awesome battle system). Haven't played any of the other ones after that, though. |
Brilliantly corny. xD
But such fun when you're nine-years-old and know no better. Actually, I completely forgot what I was meant to be doing for forty hours of gameplay. Suddenly it was like, rainbow springs, Alent! Heeey, what am I doing here? o__o Grandia II was a disappointment for me too; I didn't understand why they were using new characters... And the themes got even cornier. xD But I liked the attacks. <3 |
haha, yeah. While Grandia 1 had the awesome corny content found in older RPGs, Grandia 2 was boring emo corny content that one finds plaguing modern RPGs.
Melfice was insanely hot, though. >.> I kept going "NOOO, I don't want to kill the secksy maaaaaan." I also really liked thae psycho priestess lady. "We will cleanse it... WITH FIRE. >D" She was my hero. |

I played the first one ^^ It was a fun game ^^ I liked the battle system and how the magic was used. The only thing that bother me was that you had the farm a bit to boost some magic skills or weapon skill... That was getting a bit annoying in the end >.<
Anyway, I really liked the game... never finished it though... the disc didn't wanted to load at the end of the game >.< Evey battle was a bug... damn annoying  Hehe, hearing the voice was cool too. There wasn't lots of game at this time who did that ! |

But humanity's greed and fighting bred a monster called Gaia and Angelou was destroyed. The Icarians sacrificed themselves to save humanity and its slowly rebuilt itself. Justin, the protagonist, has a shard of the spirit stone his father, an adventurer, gave him. He gets told by... a prophetess to go to a place called Alent and blah blah blah... A guy in the military is trying to bring back Gaia, the world's turning to stone as it grows, and it needs the pieces of the spirit stone to gain its full strength. It's one of those really long and complicated plots I can't readily simplify. It's your whole adventure-and-what-ho-we-have-to-save-the-world sort of thing. There's a place where the men turn into cows when they come of age. It's wonderfully mad. xD @Alegretto - I was like that when my friend was fighting Kuja in Final Fantasy IX. I thought he was sweet. xD; Like, "YOU CAN'T KILL HIM! ;___;" |
Oh! I played it! >w< hehehe I haven't know in rl someone who has played it XDD hehehe it was a nicey game >w<

AUGH. YES. Everyone was so freaking emo in that game. And if they weren't emo, they were usually annoying as all hell. Usually, they were a combo of both. The only playable characters I could stand were Millernia (was that her name? I so forget), and the android chick. They had their aggravating moments, but for the most part they were cool. And Melfice SO made up for the crappy good guys. >.> |

Omg, I love Grandia. I rented Grandia 3 once and just sat down and played it for hours. I just couldn't stop, it was so addictive. I didn't even make it to the second disk either, which is kinda' sad, but I loved the battle system.

Grandia = way too underrated D:
It's a really awesome game, yet practically nobody has even heard of it </3 I loved that game :) |
I love grandia! it seemed a bit slow at firsta nd sometimes figuring out what to do was too hard to accomplish. but i did love it once i got through it. and to thayt end, i only have one thing to say:
"BURN! BABY! BURN!" hehe was that the Lotus Cut i think the name of it was. |
I loved the first Grandia. I was so very lucky to find it at a K-Mart for $10 when they were cleaning out their stock of Playstation games. I still argue that Grandia has the best battle system in an RPG ever.
I have the PS2 version of Grandia II, but it's so glitched up, I can't bring myself to finish it. It takes way too long just to walk through a town. |
I have played and own either the first one or the second one (i can't remember at this time lol). They came out with a three not tooo long ago.
