Just like it asks in the subject, which resident evil game is you favorite?

Personally I like Res Evil 4, but who doesn't. The problem is that the gameplay is so radically differant that it feels like an entirly differant game. It's not even a survival horror, it's an action horror. Not to mention the lack of zombies.

With that said I'd like to say the best is Res Evil Code: Veronica. The game play is classic, you get to play as both characters without having to play the whole game again, and the storyline with the Ashfords adds a whole new level of crazy to the series. Also, you get the triumphant return of Wesker.

Please feel free to dissagree. I love seeing other views.

I like resident evil 3 the best <33 I love Carlos and Jill and I like being able to run around the entire city instead of just one building like in part 1 and 2. I don't think I've played part four? I played one where you are on a prison on an island is that part 4?
Oh this should probably be moved to the games forum

Video game subforum. THIS BELONGS THERE. D: <3

Yet I must agree with you on both fronts. 4 was amazing, but for the classic RE feel, Code Veronica wins. Why? ALFRED ASHFORD. <3333

No, really. I'm a hardcore Alfred fangirl. He was awesome. And creepy. And... <3

I also loved the original one. Directors cut version, because the live action movie intro is beyond hilarious. Fun fact- the girl who did Rebecca in the live-action bit is a porn star. xD I found it great. And how can we forget the voice-acting that was so bad it almost hurt? Delightfully good times, I say!

  • I like the newest one that's for PS3. :P

I love all of the series though, so I don't have a favorite in general.
I love to play them all when I get to it.

Haven't been much of a gamer lately though.

I've also moved this thread to the right place.

Mike, I don't believe Umbrella Chronicles has been released yet...

As of the games that have been released, Resi-Evil 4 caught my heart, and inspired one of my most extensive stories to date. A three-part story, each part, novel length.

I'm going through post editing, and hope to get it reviewed by an editor. x3

Mine is Code Veronica. It's the first one I ever played and I still love it (although it was my cousin's brother's -- he had it for Sega Dreamcast but we played it all the time). Back in 7th grade I bought a walkthrough for it (but some LOSER stole it from me >: ( )

I've heard a lot about Resident Evil 4 so since it's still out on sale I may just go ahead and buy it.

My favorite character is Claire Redfield -- mainly because she shares a first name with me (except Claire is my nickname). Other than that, Alexia Ashford is my second-favorite...and then there's that guy...I think his name was Steve...he looks a lot like Leonardo DiCaprio to me.

I think i have to go with Resident Evil 2 followed closely by Code Veronica. I loved the whole Leon/ Claire Concept in 2. Escape and run for your life! and the little girl concept with her father being this unbeatable monster, that was nice. and the death of Steve thing in Code Veronica, great for plot.

You're not supposed to double post x3 Just for future reference <3

But I lurve the Resident Evil games. I really get kind of skittish playing them, but I will watch Master play them. I'm thinking of picking up Resident Evil 5 (since we haven't yet) so the two of us can play together, since I've heard it's much more of a co-op experience than anything.

One of my most hilarious gaming memories involves Resident Evil 2, though. It's really one of the last time I've ever played a survival horror game, actually. I was playing at about midnight, as Leon, walking through the police station. All of a sudden, my brother runs screaming into my bedroom, just as the crows bust through the windows. I swear, I nearly wet my pants!

Oh. Okay. Oops.

I grew up with the games. and Resi 5 is okay. It's very similar to Resi 4 though. But it has some good online co-op. My friends say that Sheva's AI isn't the best, so I would suggest playing with a friend.
and Lol, awww. I remember watching my mum play Resi 1 when I was little. When the 1st zombie showed up, I hid behind the couch. :insane:

Wow, I just realized I've been playing the Resident Evil games for half my life. That's... really kind of a scary thought, considering

Jill is my favorite character, though. Ever since the whole goofy "Master of Unlocking" line. I dunno what it is, I just thought it was such a goofy way to introduce her and her skills. I've heard some spoilers about Resi5, though, so I do know about her role in it.

But really, I can't wait til I pick it up. I think the local game store has a new special edition version still for sale for regular price, so I might pick that up.

Chris has been my favourite and always will be~ <3 >w< I prefer his slender build in the older games though. Everyone must always make the 'Chris on steroids' jokes around me... not funny. >.<
and I've been into Resi since I was 5 (That's actually kind of a scary but funny thought, a 5-year-old into survival horror. Ahaha!)

Oh? Then I won't say anything about the spoilers in RE5 *zips lips* lol X3
and you should if you're able to! XD A few of my friends got special edition, or something along those lines, and got some stuff with it.

Yeah, next to Jill, Chris is probably my favorite character. But there's just something about her awesome beret 8D

I also like the actor they got to play Chris in the Resi5 teasers. Or whatever they are. The ones that supposedly take place after Resi5 and he's having PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)-related flashbacks. Kind of drew me into his character a bit more, since we have the same mental disorder 8D lol, though I would think ALL the characters would have PTSD at this point!

xD I don't know if I could let my daughter play any of the Resident Evil games, though. She's only 4 now, but she gets kind of skittish at things. Must take after her mama lol.

Ah, I see. Jill used to be one of my favourites, but when I saw her outfit in RE3... lol I didn't like how they made her look skimpy. 8p But since RE3, I've had a thing for Brad Vickers as well. It's just the way he acts and how innocent and scared he looks that makes me want to jump in and protect him. :D

and yeah, Chris's actor in the viral vids is good. lol When I first saw the vids, I thought it was Tom Cruise, whom has a strange resemblance to my dad. lol

and aww. >w< lol

I haven't really played many of the Resident Evil games. I dabbled in Re3 when I was younger and played about half way through Code Veronica. I scare easier, so I prefer the game play of RE4 and RE5. RE4 was better though because it was at least a little scary. And I like Leon. =3

I also like the animated movie they did, Degeneration. I like how it fills in the gap between RE4 and RE5 as well as give a pretty big hint about a certain company in RE5.

Ah. I've been into the series for 13 years. lol. >w< I'm the type that has a high tolerance for fear and horror. lolol.
and yeah, re4 and re5 are good too, but I miss the traditional zombies. *sniff*
and surprisingly, as big of a re fan I am, I still haven't seen Degeneration *corner of woe*. Though I have seen Resident Evil 4D Executer. Lolz.

Degeneration was awesome! Watching it when I was about to go on a plane the day after was really nice considering my horrible fear of zombies.

Anyways, I've played all (most? I don't think I've ever played Dead Aim) of the RE games to date but I've only finished 2. RE4 and 5 are just too fast paced for me and my shaky fingers although the whole over the shoulder movement is tons better.

Yeah, Im a fan. But Im a bit annoyed at what the games are turning into.
I mean, Res Evil 1,2 and 3 are actually survival horror, They had such atmosphere to them. To me, they are the best res evils. They kept you on the edge of your seat, and usually youd want a change of underwear close by, just in case xP
Now though, With Res Evil 4 and 5, It seems to be just another Third Person shooter. RE4 was so cheesey, leon was a real idiot in it. But I must say I ADORED the regenerator enimies, They really were something special to me.
RE5 was great the first time round, Me and my mate stayed up all night finishing it. Highlight was the firdt time you remove a zombies face with a magnum or shotgun blast from the sky.
But the lamest part of res evil history goes to RE5. The boss fight against the El Gigante in the back of the truck. That was just awfull....

I've only ever really played the first one...It was ...the first one I ever played back on PS1.
I found it again for DS and loved it. I was too scared to play it when it first came out D: So I never really got into it cause of the scaries.
I have the second one at hand, but my PS1/2's aren't hooked up, and I'm not a fan of emulators :< They lag.

I played a bit of the new one. Really fun ! I love how the multiplayer works, in the sense that you rely on the other person to get to places or to get items. The idea is just so very nifty. Only thing is the whole weapons upgrades. It's hax that you get to keep the upgrades even if you start over again. It's hax for any new comers who wish to play with you.

None of them will ever have the same ambiance as the first RE game. Nor will any other game have that same excellent horror.

I really enjoy RE4, despite it playing like an action "ESCAPE FROM EVIL CULT ISLAND OH NOES!" game. I don't love it, but it's not like I'm going to bash on it for not having zombies, or a lack of statue moving puzzles (OH WAIT. THEY MANAGED TO INCORPORATE THOSE TOO. ;D)
My favorite of the traditional RE games would probably be RE2, because of its lack of Leon Kennedy one-liners.

I love the RE series, even if I do poke a little too much fun at it.

Also, to the girl who hasn't seen Degeneration.
You aren't missing out on much. It was pretty...How do I say it...
Bad. :<
Sorry if anyone liked it. That's just what I think.

It's hard for me to say, since I've played only RE4 and part of RE1. I think that's all that are currently out for the Wii >_>;

But I have a question for RE fans. Is the Wii port of REmake with updated Wii controls, or not? It didn't seem to say on the box, but if the controls have stopped sucking balls I'd say it's worth the moneys.
