Ha, that does sound like it'd be pretty funny. Although I wonder...depending on how long the game takes to make, you'd get to the point where younger gamers might not get the jokes on FF7 at all!

A parody game would be pretty cool. I'm betting most people would get the FF7 stuff, simply because that really is one of the most popular RPGs of all time.

The battle system in Tales of Symphonia works...well, you can have up to four players. The person with their controller in the first slot plays whoever they want to (or have to, depending on how many people are on the party at the time). You can switch what character you are walking around as, and which character you play in battle. I play Lloyd or Prescea because I'm not good at casting spells at all, or doing certain skills like Sheena.

Then the second person is in the second slot with whatever character, and so forth. The other people don't control anything unless you're in the menu screen or in the battle screen. Then you basically can choose your attacks, and everyone works together. My mom always is Genis and my brother is always Kratos or Zelos. >>; We always use Raine or someone else but Raine always wants to be a crappy healer, no matter how much affection (I have it maxed out in all my games) between the characters, or how I set her up in battle. She always likes to cast Photon and never heals. So my brother does with Zelos and Kratos.

XD

It's hard to explain. But it works out, there aren't any problems. Other than telling my brother once in a while, "HEAL YOURSELF! STOP HEALING ME!" XD And then Zelos or Kratos dies and I have to give him an item to get him back on his feet.

Haha, that's kind of funny about your brother healing you more than himself. :)

I think it's because I do more damage to the enemy, not because he really just is being considerate. XD

Plus, Kratos will do that to Lloyd when no one is playing him and you have him on auto. It's really funny, if you know the full story. Though who doesn't guess WHY he does it when he drops so many hits at the beginning about his connection with Lloyd?

P.S. Kratos feels paternal, but Lloyd doesn't know that because he was raised by a dwarf. XD

Ah, well, at least he has a good strategy. :)

And Lloyd doesn't catch any of the hints? XD Awww, that probably made Kratos feel sad.

Kratos is actually rather hard on Lloyd. XD Lloyd's not exactly the smartest character, either. >>; The beginning of the game, the first scene he's fallen asleep standing up in class. He has to hold water buckets for punishment or something like that, and he's sleeping while doing it. >>;

But all the people who play the game can definitely see it. XD

It's a good game, if you had a GC I'd recommend it, but all I can think of is maybe you could import the PS2 version from Japan. I don't know if you can have two players with that one or not. You get more outfits to change into though. XD

Eh, I'm not really planning on getting more games until I finish the ones I already have.

Which, at this point...will be like, never. @[email protected]

Sleeping while holding water buckets sounds kind of funny though. I think they did a similar gag in Ranma...though I might be thinking of the wrong thing.

I need to finish more games too, I'm falling behind! And only more seem to be coming out. >>;

I'm online too much. I should spend a little more of my free time gaming.

I don't know, never read Ranma. XD Tales of Symphonia is pretty funny. I like Tales of the Abyss more though, and I like Tales of Phantasia and Tales of the World...>>; I like that series.

I know water buckets as punishment has been used in gags a few times in Ranma, since the joke is that Ranma often gets really nervous--he'll turn into a girl if the water gets on him.

This is me too. Except I usually feel I should be writing/drawing/studying. I don't know, I just don't get the urge to play games much anymore.

I didn't say they weren't! D: I just don't really feel like playing them.

I still like thinking of how I'd make one, though, and I like to read about what's new. Is that weird?

I'm teasing you, I hope you know that.

Though honestly, I am bias because I'm a hardcore gamer and will try anything once to three times. Or more than that, since I'm very forgiving. XD

Plus I think there are many awesome games out there that people are missing out on, but that's always something that can't be helped. People have priorities. Makes me wish I did. XD

I'd make a computer game that involves interior design. xD
Sure, you can design houses in the Sims, but only
to a certain extent. I'd make one where there's
100x more furniture choices in ever color and pattern
you could think of.

There'd also be challenges on re-designing rooms
with a certain amount of money and such.

My game would be an enite customizeable society within the game.

Details are a little rough but stick with me, I'll give you the main idea.

You start out after school, but soon after that you relize reality isnt what it turns out to be, worse off, your not the only one who knows, so you have to use your new powers to twist reality to stop all the people who want to use it the wrong way, so pretty much you could do WHATEVER in that game and it would have to deal with the story.

All characters would be diffrent in their own way and even have to learn to copy cat you at some point in time since you were the first one to discover this loophole, but some get smarter quicker so you would have to learn to do the same thing.

Eventually you have to enter an alternate reality, create something to help battle the growing greedy masses (of course you'll have help but make sure they trust you or they can betray whenever they want)

This wouldn't make a good consle game but it should give a pretty good job in a new mellinium Massive multiplayer Online Game.

Twisting reality...how exactly? I'm a little confused about the concept, though the part about other characters copycatting you (and having to copycat them) sounds interesting.

Oooh! I'm not sure I'd be any good at that, but I think one way to cover all the furniture options would be to have a "carpentry" feature, something where you can specify the dimensions of a furniture piece and what it's made out of, and then the game will determine how much that piece of furniture would cost to build. I think that'd be pretty neat. :D

I think they at least have programs on your PC that allow you to design house layouts, but I don't know if there are any yet which allow you to also decorate a house. If I had a game like that, I'd probably be addicted to it, especially if you could wander around and explore it. I'm addicted to those kinds of things - I love exploring people's houses in games!

I'd at least have that an option in games - being allowed to explore people's houses I mean! XD I don't think I could go without that feature, I hate when that happens in other games. I'm always snooping through people's stuff in video games.

It'd be fun to have an online component to the game so you could see everyone else's creations. :D And maybe you could also make it possible for other people to make suggestions...not automatic changes though, otherwise you'd have trolls trashing others' houses.

Sort of like an online "tour other people's houses" option? I think that would be a great idea. You can have people tour your house, and stuff like that, and you can go looking at the layouts of other's houses, and the decorations they've chosen.

I think it would also be cool if you could design your own items, like vases and so forth, but that would take some complex programming for a video game. XD

I would hate to have someone come into my house and trash it though. Maybe set an option for friends only, so that if you want to avoid trolling, you can at least block it.

Well, I think maybe for getting suggestions from other people, you could have anyone make a suggestion, and then the game would let you see your room and their proposed changes side-by-side and give you the price tag for the decisions, then ask if you approve or not. If you do, you just click and they're made automatically. If you don't, you click no--and then you can go on your own and manually make any individual changes you did like.

I don't think the programming is too complex for a game. Actually, if this is just home-building program, with the opportunity to go through others' dwellings and chat with other users...it's basically a simplified Second Life, I think.

I've never played Second Life, so I have no clue. XD

Though I hear IMVU and Second Life are very similar, and I have been on IMVU. o.O;

I think I'm confused by your first sentence, about the price thing? o.O; I don't get it...maybe because I have too much going on right now. And haven't even gotten my costume on and ready!

If I could create a video-game, I would also let there be options as to how the video-game would end. I think I would want the evil side to win in the end. It's just so cliche, I think, that the "good" side always wins. I mean, the story would be so much more intriguing if you were pitted against odds that you could not beat. Seriously, how can, in almost every (if not all) video-games, the "good" side pull through and defeat the boss, gain back the lost treasure, etc. Personally, I think, it is just so unrealistic. For once, the so-called evil side should win. I would probably make some of the options along that line.

For instance, one option would be to join up with the evil side. That way, you don't have to lose and you could technically still beat the game. You would just have to beat the game on the opposite side. Another option would be gaining certain characters. I would change one thing about this though. In a lot of games, gaining characters has no penalty. If you want to have so-and-so in your party then you just get them. I would make certain penalties for gaining certain characters. An example would be if you chose to take Fighter 1, then you could not get Archer 2. Another example would be if you chose to get Paladin 2 then Paladin 1 would leave; you might lose an item or skill if a character joins, etc. That would be along the lines of what I meant.

I would also try to make sure that there are a great variety in classes and a decent variety in races. I would try to include all of the basic classes such as Warriors/Fighters/Berserkers, Paladins/Mounted Knights, Mages/Sages, Healers/Priests/White Mages, Archers/Snipers, Thieves/Rogues/Ninjas, Summoners, Wyvern Riders/Dragon Riders, Gunmen/Shooters, and Sword-masters/Samurai. Not only these more common classes, but many others would be included. Some more abstract ones would be Necromancers/Warlocks, Pegasus Knights/Falcon Knights, Shamans/Druids, Hunters, and a couple others. As for classes, I would want a decent amount. Trolls, Orcs, Zombies/Undead, Humans, Elves, half-beast half-human creatures, Dwarves, Gnomes, Goblins, Centaurs, and Mer-folk, just to name some.

Oh, because before I was thinking there would be some sort of earning system for gold or dollars or something to make the changes to your house.

I'm not sure exactly how it'd be earned, though.

Shiba, I think it'd be fun to let the bad guys win, but I also think most players would not like a game where the bad guys couldn't lose, and they had to be a bad guy in order to win. It's fun as an option, but not as the only option...at least, that's what I think.

Charis_mae, I see where you are coming from, and I respect your opinion. But at the same time, I must disagree. In just about every video-game there is an "option" to let the evil side win. It's called dying. In many video-games when the main character dies, it will say, "Game Over." Essentially, that means you lose and the evil side won. The only difference is that you can just turn off the game without saving or restart the chapter, etc. and you will pick up where you left off without having lost. (I myself have done this many times.)

Nevertheless, I understand that yes, it probably would not sell very well. It's just an idea though. I plan on becoming a coroner, not a video-game programmer. ^.^

Well, yes, you can die, but that's an option. It's not the only choice.

I'm not saying letting the bad side win wouldn't be entertaining for the player--'cause some games have had some pretty good glorified game overs where you can see the villain win (Elaine liquefies the heroes in Koudelka, Shuyin destroys Spira in FF X-2, and iirc you could see the villain of Chrono Trigger destroy the world)--but I just think players would get miffed if it was the only choice. It wouldn't be very satisfying if you want to play as the good guy.

...or do you mean that your game would have a choice for either side to win, not just the bad guys? In that case, I misunderstood you.
