The best console

I was reading a few posts about games console when I thought I wonder what the best ever console(s) is/are. So what do you think the best console(s) is/are I think that the best consoles are ps2. Why? Well althogh the graphics aint that good there not too bad either and the games are pretty good to, i especially like the Dynasty Warrios series, the Burnout's and i can't forget Mortal Kombat or Resident Evil 4. My second fav must be the sega... I don't really know why i like it i think it's just because it was the first ever games console I played and my fav games well there's Mortal Kombat, there's road rash, Streets of Rage and the good old Phantasy Star I'm so happy that they've released it on Xbox360 lol. So the question is what's your fav console(s). Why do you like them? And what do you like about them?

There is no one best console, Its all about opinion.
Thats where I hate fanboys, who think that just because something isn't what they like means it "phails lawls moooo iuma cow lawls gay|!!!11one!"

xD
Anyway, I like playing my wii.
Playing with a controller-type thing in each hand feels awesome.
When I sent it away for repairs and played gamecube, the controller just felt unnatural D:

I can see were your coming from woth the whole fan thing because myself i dont like peoplethat say that is definatly the best because of this... and because of that... and i dont like this because its... i think that they are all good consoles but obvioulsy i have my fav's lol

I'd personally have to say it's a tie between the 360 and the Wii. The wii is defiantly different and totally awesome but if you're into the joystick the 360 is defiantly a good console. I can't say that I have played the ps3 but the huge price tag keeps me AND all my friends from buying it.

mewmew07 11-21-2007 08:49 PM

Well, since I haven't played many consoles before, I would say Gamecube. Though I wish some of the gaems that were for the original playstation/ps2 came out for the Dreamcast. I have a Dreamcast, and I think it is cool, though I wish people didn't give up on it so fast, as with the Gamecube.

Hmmmmm, best console you ask? Well I'm of the opinion too that it is all very subjective, but for the sake of the topic, I'll play along.

From the olde school, I'm pretty partial to the turbo graphics 16 (i know im not spelling it the way it supposed to be). I never got the opportunity to play more than like 7-8 games on it, but wowzer, it sure did rock my socks off.

Of the more recent console war, I'd have to say I like the Wii a lot. Sweet graphics are nice and everything, but I'm really liking the new play experiences the wii is throwing out there. Additionally, I like how people of many persuasions will play it. From me and my friends who rock it hard, to my parents, to that girl your friend brings over who would normally turn her nose up at the gamer community.

Mine would have to be a tie between the Wii and the ps2. I like the wii because I love the hilarious games for it but then again... there's some games that I can't play on the wii but I can play on the ps2....

*ow! Now my head hurts!*Which one which one?!*

Also, I agree with you Garden Hose! I think you make perfect sense!

My favorite consoles have always been made by Nintendo, and Sony.

When Sega came out with their console, I never really could get into the games. They just were not interesting. I think the games have more to do with whether a console is popular more than graphic applications. If the console is lacking on games, then it will fail in the consumer market.

Take Dreamcast for example. Made by Sega. They failed, and bad. The graphical interface was pretty, and state of the art in that time. But, there were not many games that excited people, so the console failed.

I've never owned a xbox, not much of a fan of Halo. The console seems to be very popular because of the games. I suppose technology helps, since you can play online. But the games are mainly what keep people buying the systems.

I guess I'll stick with Nintendo and Sony. They have the best gaming content in my book.

I have only played playstation, so can't say much about the other consoles, but I have no problems since all the games I want to play is for this console, so I guess it depends on which games you're planning to play. I mean, I plan to get a 360 now, after hearing that Lost Odyssey, which is 360 exclusive from what I've been told, comes from the same staff that did Shadow Hearts, my all time favorite game. :D At first I was going for a PS3, for Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots, and Resident Evil 5...but since they're also for the 360, I'd go for that one now. :3

I think my favorite consoles...are too many to list. ^_^ I'm very versatile, and so I feel that there is not one "true, amazing, perfect" system. Every console I've ever had comes with problems. I'm pretty sure every single one of them had a recall after they came out, or should have had one...

It's really a matter of what each person likes in tastes as far as games, and what kind of controller they're comfortable with. For instance, I feel like a lot of controllers are rather bulky after playing on a PS2.

Right now, I'm more inclined to go with Xbox 360 with games coming out, but PSP, PS2, Sega Genesis, Gamecube, wii - everything has some kind of appeal for me.

in my gaming experience I would have to say my favorite consoles would have to be the Super nintendo and the playstation 2, in my opinion the have some of the best games out, they are especially good when it comes to "Role Playing Games" of course the Playstation 1 has some great game's and RPG's but thats one reason I chose the PS2 because you can play both PS2 and PS1 games on it lol

Akstar 12-25-2007 06:10 PM

For me it be the PS2, the mainstay of it is being able to go back a system the first Play station. Meaning I can play some games like Castlevania: SOTN, all that is needed is a PS1 memory card and your set. Also a lot of games I know and have some idea how they work are on the PS2. For the next gen systems I go for 360, I would have to find a not so chunky controller but if for any reason my ps2 died I buy a 360.

Stardragon 12-25-2007 06:39 PM

I liked the PS2 but now the XBOX 360 is my choice. as for my all time favorite it's the Sega Genesis/CD

Risque 12-25-2007 09:53 PM

I like all the consoles for different reasons, but I seem to be most attached to my N64, which I can't even play with right now cause my mom had to be a bitch and hide the controllers, then, "forget where she hid them."

  • I agree with whoever said "there are no best consoles." It depends on the person. Personally, I like Play Station.

    Playstation > (original) Nintendo > Gamecube > Wii > Xbox > Dreamcast

That's about how I feel right now, lol. My dad collects video games, so he hass all the consoles (yes, even a ps3 and a 360...I'm so jealous!)

It really depends on what kind of games you like, and then who offers them/ Some of my favorite games are only for Playstation (Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear Solid, and more)

Cool your dad is lucky. Does he have the Atari 2600-5200? Don't forget the Onimusha and the Resident Evil Series.

Edit.

I would say the Playstation is the best console... but that's because I played with it since I can think xD And I love the Enix games like Final Fantasy and so on
First PsOne, then the PS2 and now I got the PS3 for christmas x3 *is so very very happy*

I also played with some other consoles so I say

Sony < Nintendo < Microsoft (I can't stand the xbox games... ; ; )

mewmew07 12-27-2007 05:51 AM

So sad that no one here likes Sega consoles. I really like them as sega has sonic and I really like sonic. I want to get one of the old Sega consoles, but I don't know how my parents would feel about aht and also I don't know which is good. I kind of want to get a game gear. Just to have a handheld from my two favorite companies, Nintendo and Sega.

I also really like the Nintendo 64, though I have never played it in my life. Though I think the console is pretty, since it comes in many colors. Also it has cool graphics and lots of great games on the system.

EbilKitty 12-27-2007 02:52 PM

The only console I've ever had is a Gamecube. I'm not really a big game-person, so I ended up selling it after a short while. I do play a few games on the computer though, but the console-thing is not my cup of tea I guess.
