I hope this is not a repeat topic. If so, lock it^-^

I've come to ask this question to all of you because it often occurs to me that I feel the need to replay a game. Games that once were an addiction, untill you suddenly had enough of it and stopped playing them..

To me this often happens to building/living-controll games like Harvest Moon, The Sims, Age of Mythology and Rollercoaster Tycoon. But also alot of RPGs on the SNES and GBA (:

Discuss:
- How often it occurs that you want to replay a game.
- Games that you replay very often.
- Games you loved to play when you were little.

I find myself replaying games I really enjoy many times. Sometimes it will take a while before I want to play it again and other times I'll start a new game just after I finish! For example, I played Psychonauts for the first time two weeks ago and I just beat it for the second time yesterday.

I also think that many Legend of Zelda games have high replay values. I think I've played Twilight Princess through at least 4 times and Ocarina of Time at least 6.

I don't count games like the Sims, Oblivion, or Roller Coaster Tycoon since games like those technically never end, but I do love to play them endlessly. :)

POKEMON.
I will be playing and replaying Pokemon games for the rest of my life.

I've played a couple games each of both of the Dragon Warrior games on Gameboy Color, but most of the time I just prefer to continue playing on a game I've pretty much beaten and just go back to older parts of it (beating a boss I've already beaten, wandering through old dungeons, etc).

Usually I can only replay a game like once and then it gets boring and I head to gamestop to exchange it. But yeah sometimes I find new things from replaying my games that I have, especially if I haven't played it in a long time.

I replay games all the time. I think the main reason for this is that the games are so expensive, I can't just keep buying new games over and over. Also, a lot of the games that I'm interested in are short. So naturally, if I want to get my sixty dollars worth out of a game, replay is the way to do that. I mostly play games on my 360, and they've got that whole 'achievement' thing going on that can keep me occupied for a while. I'll go through a game a couple times to try to get all the achievements I hadn't the first time around. Not to mention that I don't remember many games. For example, I just went back and replayed Doom 3 and I kept getting surprised because I couldn't remember how the game actually went. It was like playing a new game, only with the same type of enemies.

The games that I replay most are the two Need for Speed games I have. I'll go through all the races and unlock all the vinyls and paints just to see if I can come up with something I haven't yet.

I replay my favorite games like Shadow Hearts, though with a month or two intervals. The other games I replay again and again are Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner, God of War 1&2, Metal Gear Solid:Sons of Liberty and Snake Eater, Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica, and now I'm replaying Odin Sphere. I don't know, it's just that even though I've seen the scenes again and again, knows what's going to happen, I enjoy playing them. :)

I play Mario Party 3 with my dad every weekend, which we've played for about six years or so. [I just love it to death.]

I don't tend to replay games once I've beaten them, [which aren't very many, as I usually tend to get a new game before I beat the old one.] but I've been replaying my Ratchet and Clank games on and off.

I rarely replay games with a distinct ending: RPG's, Zelda games, etc... Unless it's several years later.

However, I play SimCity and Smash Bros. games all the time, and I don't even remember how many times I played Pokemon Red/Blue when I was younger.

I'm constantly replaying Resident Evil 4! I love that game! I think I've replayed it over...ten times. And don't even get me started on the Mercenaries! It's a quick game but really fun and addictive.

If I become really addicted to the game, I'll continually replay it. I felt that way about Shadow Hearts - I couldn't stop playing the first two games of that series. ^^; And I do that with Tales of games, like Tales of the Abyss. Dx

Eventually I'll get sick of them and a few months later, want to pull them out again and replay them. XD I can't help it.

But I do it mostly with RPGs.

Well, there's one game that seems to never get old to me, is Psychonauts. I've probably played it through at least 3 times, probably more. I know that doesn't sound like much, but you have to consider, there's a LOT of things to collect, and get, etc.

I'm also currently replaying TES: Oblivion. I get little...Urges, I guess, to play that every once in a while. Then I get bored of it, and don't play it for a few months, and then I get the urge to play it, and so on...Yeah. x3

Well my favorite role playing games are Fable, Final Fantasy (all of them) as well as Suduki...that one is hard cause you have to operate 4 characters pretty well at the same time...just like the challenge :D

To replay a game, I get the urge about once or twice a year. Unfortunately, I rarely follow up on this urge. I guess that is because currently pokemon pearl has been sapping away at my time! *laughs*

Currently, I have been having the urge to replay Final Fantasy IX. I really do love that game... except for Quina. *facepalms* It is not perfect, but it is always funny just the same!

I have been meaning to replay Okami as well once I steal it back from my sibling!

I've probably replayed the first two Shadow Hearts games constantly. It's died down now, but at first I just couldn't bring myself to play anything else. Once I was done with a game, I was loading up a new game with the saved data from my last. XD It couldn't be helped. I was addicted.

I think I've probably replayed Kingdom Hearts quite a bit since I got it. I wasn't nearly as addicted to it as I was to Shadow HEarts though. And I do have a unique obsession with replaying Tales of games. I really like that Tales of series a lot. I'm on my third game of Tales of the Abyss, and I just started my third game of Tales of Symphonia. I have two games going of Tales of the World; one with a female character and one with a male, since they get different equipment and armor for each one...xD I like to mess with that kind of thing. Though at first I stuck with only having a male...

I do a lot of replaying FFX-2 in the attempt to get 100% - but that's probably died down significantly as that was one of the few games I had for the PS2 at one point. Without much of a selection to play, it was all I could do was just repeatedly play it. That was before I even played Shadow Hearts... ^^;

I probably replay most of the games I truly enjoy. Some I just suffer too much trying to finish. But if it is a game I truly enjoy, I'll keep playing it over and over...or if it has things that are only available after you clear it once, or there's so much doing it all in one game is sometimes hard, I'll replay it then too. XD Unfortunately, I like a lot of the games I try out, so I end up spending a lot of time on each one. >>;

I just restarted pokemon silver :) its cool though, its been so long since it was made the watch battery that was keeping time in the game is dead. So no more watching the time... i'm sure theres a drawback there but i havent hit it yet. All i know is i'm back to my mad scientist frame of mind, maybe i'll teach a marowak surf again.

I've also been tempted to replay alot of my old computer games but for some reason my new computer apparently thinks its too good to play them :) (hexen, heroes of might and magic 3... good games, too old though apparently)

Hmm, I tend to want to replay a game at least a few times a year, but only if it's something that I really do like. Pokemon is definitely the one. Ever since I was little i was liked this game. Now I own diamond version and play when I can.

I haven't replayed many of the games for the disc systems. But a lot of the old sega games that I enjoyed I find myself going back to.

Depends on how much I enjoyed the game the first time, or the level of difficulty the game gave me.

Pokemon is one game I can play forever and ever. Just restart and bring a whole new experience by simply trying new team setups. It's lovely. ^_^

I've played Wind Waker twice, I believe, because I loved the game dearly. It had such wonderful graphics, despite the many that demanded a more mature look, the celshading giving Link a cutesy form of expression I simply adored. Plus, there were extra tidbits and secrets revealed if you played through your file again.

Kingdom Hearts was another I replayed, mostly to better understand the storyline. It confused me somewhat, so I felt that it deserved another playthrough, and another in the difficult mode to test my skills.

The last one I will list is probably Animal Crossing, simply because having a new character again is a welcome challange after having your first one for so long. Plus, I love the cutesy neighbors and really enjoy seeing new ones in new towns. ^_^
