Gears of War 1 and 2
Ok I searched I looked, I used the thing and to my astonishment there is no thread about Gears of War...or hopefully there isn't because I am very obsessed and have always wanted to make a thread about it. >w<
To those who don't know it's a lovely Xbox360 game that's rated M so technically only people over 17 should be playing due to language and graphic violence..heheh. So Gears of War is an awesome game with epic weapons, levels, characters, story, etc. Not to mention it has some interesting glitches in online play. XD I'll put up the story and things later but I just wanted to get this done so I could freak out about the sequel coming out!!!!!!!!!! Gears of War 2!!! Count them I know you won't! I saw the trailer on Xboxlive recently and flipped out. >w< So my questions are: ((don't paste and answer, be creative. ><)) How do you feel about this game, do you have a favorite character, favorite weapon, locust or human, favorite map/level, and doesn't Cole make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? >w< My favorite all time character is Dom and even though if you're just playing 1 pyr he can get annoying but in co-op he's fun to be. >w< Of course I favor humans, my favorite map is the canals *cuz I pwn online*, favorite weapon is shotgun <3, and my favorite level is 2nd chap. |

*-k-illin.ur.sanity* It's really good and thankfully not first person shooter so for me it was easier to play. I recommend renting it first and...maybe having someone with you because some of the foes you go against...aren't pretty. XD It's M for a reason is all I can say but it's well done. ^ ^

Well of course, that's the color you encounter most the time in Gears. XD...well that and black. If I ever saw anything other than that in Gears it'd throw me off guard. XD |
I'm pretty excited for this game too. I noticed the advertisement when my boyfriend logged onto his Xbox live so I made him go download the trailer. I'm hoping for a bit more background info in this one. (Who exactly is Maria? More details on how Marcus ended up in prison would be nice too. I love a good background story.)
Cole is definitely my favorite character. He's funny, what else can I say? The Locust are some cool creatures, but I seriously hate those wretches. I don't really have a favorite weapon; I usually just use whatever has the most ammo. I hope we get a chance to fight the Brumak in the second one. That would be pretty interesting. |
I flipped for the trailer because they had originally said the game would be out in 2009.
I think Maria is either Dom's wife or possibly daughter and I'd like to know more about what caused Marcus to be in prison too. Dom mentioned the trial being a set up or something *I know the level he said it so I'll play through again* and my assumptions are Marcus either spoke against the Gears or he was falsely accused. Cole is amazing of course. >w< Some of the locust are interesting but yay! Someone else hates the wretches! <3 I used to be that way when I first started playing but now that I've gotten better some of the weapons are fun to use. XD And I'm positive that we get to go against the Brumak this time...just wonder how one goes about taking it down...Boom shot anyone? XD |
I was thinking the same thing. Maria seems like a wife or girlfriend more than a family member, but that's just me. I've talked to a few people who think she may be his sister. Guess we'll just have to wait and find out.
I really should play through the game again. I was thinking that the reason he ended up in jail had something to do with his father, but now I can't remember why I thought that. o.O I don't know, I think it might take more than a Boomshot to take that monster down. xD I wonder if they'll bring out any new weapons and what kind they'll be? |
Sister sounds like a good possibility too since Maria is a Latin name and Dom is....Latin. XD I hope sister because I have a undying love for Dom <3
You might've thought about Marcus father because of the house you have to fight in and the estate...I've played through a billion times as well but after watching the clips a couple hundred times we just skipped over them. ^ ^; But I'll have to play through too since I like watching and sometimes miss stuff. As for new weapons one is suppose to be a flamethrower....which would be super special awesome. >w< The others I have no idea but there have been ideas floating around online. Some are RAAM's sword/knife thing. XD |

Oh! New Gears information has been released so I'm going to update my first post for the second installation but if ya'll are curious about Gears of War the sequel pick up Game Informer magazine. I'm pretty sure you can just flip it open but it has a huge update on GoW 2 so go on and read! |
