Discuss about your favorite 2D games. Everyone has played one at least once. If not, then you're too modern and didn't experience the good old fashion games. :P

Right now my favorite 2D game is an FSO-based game called Mystic World Online.

Right now I'm playing through Paper Mario on the N64 (psuedo 2d but still 2d).

Does Cooking Mama 2 count as 2d?

So many classics and so little space

For the record Mystic World Online is a top down view. Not sure if that's pure 2d since like 3d it has more then 2 directions that the character sprites can walk/run in.

Then again I might be wrong and it does count as 2d.

It's 2D in my head at least. ;___;

i loved worms Armageddon it was a great game :] and i still play it its for the PC just 2 tell ya

Aside from the obvious mario choices, Mega Man X and X2 are probably my favorite 2d scrollers.

If you're taking top-down into account, then you have the first 6 Final Fantasy games and the first three Zelda games. :)

Chrono Trigger is an excellent 2D game. :3 Probably one of my favourite RPGs.

Also Pokemon. :D Who could forget pokemon? xD

Not sure if Duck Hunt counts but if so, then that and Kid Icarus are two of my absolute favorites. I spent hours shooting those pixelated waterfowl and even more hours wishing I could shoot the dog instead. :mrgreen:

2D games, I'm not sure what to tell about the games that I own. But they are my favourite kind of games.

2D games are all about simplicity, and the simplicity makes it so addictive to play. The controls aren't hard, you just want to play it nonstop.

3D games are much harder to control, and the gamer is much harder to please. People work years on a project spending time working out all the nice looking details that people are not even going to notice.

I don't know.
Think of a good 2D game, and it would be just as succesfull as a 3D game to me:3
