Starcraft, Brood War, and SC2
In my opinion, Starcraft is the most amazing game ever created. Simple yet challenging, provides hours upon hours of gameplay, and has a very intricate plot. StarEdit is also a huge plus. Discuss Starcraft here. Also, if anyone wants to try out the 'Expansion Pack' I'm making, feel free to ask. I'll eventually host the files, but until then, I'll be emailing them as they're asked for. I plan on doing 3 Campaigns, one for each race. If you have any maps you want to display, take a screenshot of the map preview (upper left mini-map in StarEdit) to use as a link image, and then host the map and provide a link, and I'll put it in the first post. Let the discussion begin after the next couple posts! ;D |
My Starcraft Expansion: Queen of Blades
Kind of a cliche'd title, I know. It's based off of Infested Kerrigan. The plot goes in the order of Zerg Campaign, Protoss Campaign, and finally Terran Campaign. The catch? I'm making them in reverse order. :3 I taught myself to use StarEdit, so this isn't some lame attempt at making Starcraft a little more amusing and then laughing at how terrible this attempt was. The first episode includes intricate triggers, full voice-acting (though it's not perfect, I'll admit ;D), and a good introduction to the plot. Episode 7: Zerg Campaign Episode 8: Protoss Campaign Episode 9: Terran Campaign Part 1 - About 13mb - Made more difficult by suggestion, redoing voice acting, new file will be uploaded later Part 2 - Voice acting underway Part 3 - Voice acting underway Part 4 - Voice acting underway I'd like to also point out that this thread is the ONLY place you should find these. If they're anywhere else, they're stolen and put there. |

StarCraft is such a fantastic game. I remember playing it for hours on end and I cannot wait for SC 2 to come out. Of course there's no release date from Blizzard yet.

I used to play this game when I was a very small Fabby. Like, six or seven. I would play with my dad and he would beat me every time. XD

I play this game casually with friends. My brother was really into it when it first came out, but I only played a little. I play more now though.
I'm incapable of using anything besides the Zerg though. I don't know the other tech trees well enough. I just like building lots of Mutalisks and Guardians and blowing up the comp. |
I always play way too defensively. xD My two friends and I will set up a game on a map I made, and they'll have to convince me to rush. They play protoss and rush Zealots, I play Zerg and rush Zerglings, and we always manage to wipe out the first of the three computers we play. Also, if any of you play Battle.net, you can feel free to add your name on Battle.net and your region, and I can add it in somewhere.

I still play SC regularly. Ive got the BW expansion, I prefer the terran over the other races after they introduced the medic. I found that they lacked a decent air force, but with science vessels and goliaths they made up for it.
A strat for you to try is bunker hopping. Bunkers, tanks and marines steadily spread like a web, Its slow, But when done correctly its very effective. |
Oh I love Starcraft! Blizzard estimates that Starcraft II will be out at the end of 2009, so only one more year to go!
At their last update, they said that most of the game is finished, they're just completing campaigns now, I think. I have to say my favorite race was the Protoss, but for online play, I like the Terrans. Mainly 'cause the Goliath unit is just awesome. They got rid of the Goliath for Starcraft II though, because it wasn't in the Terran Demo Video. :( |
