Old School Gamers
Does anyone still play Game Boy games? What about Nintendo Entertainment System games? And Super Nintendo or Nintendo 64 gamers out there? Please post what games you play!

It depends on what is old school. I still play Sega Genesis games, and I love old SNES games as well (like the first Star Ocean). I've also played a lot of older computer games, back in the early 90s, when I was a kid, and played those even as I got older. Some of those I would still play if I had them. xD

Shame I don't have any of the old systems else I'd still play them. I'm actually selling some of my old handhelds due to lack of space :cry:

The only thing I have is my Sega Genesis. Everything either broke or was lost during moves. ;-; Sadly, the Sega's a bit hard to hook up to most of the TVs in my house. I wish they'd re-release more than just the Sega Genesis Collection. I'd love to see games re-released to handheld systems without being changed/remade.

Between my cross-country move, and my general distaste for analog connections, my classic systems went away quite a while ago.
I have been known to play the occasional ROM, and my virtual console channels on the wii are pretty full of nes and snes games, though. |

I remember the Amiga! Playing pacman (I say only Wakka-wakka-wakka. XD) and the one with Father Christmas delivering presents ... *wistful expression* Of late, the eldest game I've played is the original Soul Reaver (PS1). SBT |

I classify old school as anything thats not new Gen., like Wii, PS3 or 360, oh or PSP and DS.

I wanted Hey You Pikachu! But I didn't have an N64...I looooved Mario Party 3. I still have Pokemon Crystal (wanted to get Yellow but didn't have a Gameboy or Advance when it came out). My other favorite oldschool game is the Mario series...AND THE ORIGINAL PLAYSTATION 1 GAMES!! Good LORD I still play PSX games every day.

I still have my Pokemon Red, Yellow and Silver, I'd completely forgotten about them up until recently. My six year old sister got an old gameboy advance for her birthday with Pokemon Yellow ('cos she loves Pikachu) and its got me starting to play my older games.
I also love the older Zelda games. I still play Ocarina of Time, though wasn't a big fan of Majora's Mask. And! Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Crater were always fun to play! |
The first console that I had was a Sega Megadrive but the only games I can remember playing are Sonic and Worms. I'm only 17, so the main consoles when I was young were the N64, Playstation and Dreamcast and they aren't particularly old school at all really.
I found my old Gameboy Pocket the other day and its screen fell out... the glue or whatever they use to keep it stuck in had gone completely dry. Thankfully I can still play the old Game Boy games on my SP. I probably have twice as many Gameboy and Gameboy Colour games as I do GBA games. I've been playing a lot of Harvest Moon since I found it, it's basic but it's fun and quick to play. I play a few 'old school' games on my mobile phone too like Super Puzzle Bobble and 'retro' arcade games like Asteroids. |

I never had a Nintendo growing up just my sega. I still play a lot of my old sega games especially the strategic rpgs like Warsong because I haven't seen anything like that come up on any of the systems in years.

I love old school games. I'm currently struggling with an old PC game called Nethack. If anyone's completed it then I'd be very glad to learn how they did it.

My SNES is still alive and kicking. I use it more than the Wii's Virtual Console. I only download the games that I don't have. |

I still play my SNES games, but the first system I owned was the NES and I wish I still had it. I also download the old games on my Wii. Mario Bros. 3 is still one of my favorites to play.

I never had SNES but I did have N64. I still have it, actually; played SSB with my friends a month ago. Heh.

On occasion, I'll still bust out my Sega Genesis, lol.
Mostly, I play the old school games on emulators on my compy, though. <3 |
