Well, for the Wii, probably.
Harmonix is kind of slow with the whole Wii thing. I don't know about Rock Band 2, though, they could be really stepping it up there.
But as it stands now, GHWT for the Wii has everything on Rock Band for the Wii. Pains me to say it, 'cause I'm partial to Harmonix. They actually care about what they're putting out, while it seems to me like Activision/Neversoft is just trying to one-up and outsell them.
They put out a top-notch sparkly game for the Xbox 360, though! Actually, to be totally honest, Rock Band is the only reason I own an Xbox 360. And it's totally worth it!
Also, with the amount of Downloadable Content they put out, the game can be played indefinitely. Maybe Neversoft will step it up with the DLC for World Tour, but with the 500 songs that will be available for Rock Band by the end of the year, they really can't compete.
Rock Band 1's peripherals did kinda suck, though; here's hoping they've learned their lesson about strumbars.
Really, though, I'm hoping Harmonix will step it up with Rock Band 2 for the Wii. The guitar's won't be cross-compatible between GH and RB, of course, because the GH guitars use the Wiimotes, but the RB ones don't. Same with the drums. But the microphones, as I understand it, will just be USB mics, so they should be compatible with everything including your computer.
But hopefully they'll add all the nifty features like character creation and downloadable content. I won't be buying it, because I've got the 360 and fully working peripherals for it, but I've got a lot of Wii-owning friends that are ticked about not being able to use those features.
