WATCHMEN!
Who's looking forward to this movie I have a HD trailer here for you all to see :)
WATCHMAN TRAILER I love the music that goes with it as well. Smashing pumpkins The Begining is the end the end is the Begining. I have never heard about it until now and it looks amazing!! |
I can't WAIT to see this movie! My friend told me about it a couple weeks ago, and I saw the trailer for it whe I went to see The Dark Knight. It looks very very different from most high budget movies. I'm excited to see how it is received. |
Yeah me too! I was thinking of making a night of it and booking a hotel and getting dressed up 1930's style or 1980's its set between the two times. I know sad but the style of the movie looks great and its nice to see fresh faced actors on the screen!!! INstead of the same old tired faces.
I might even start reading the comics. :D |
I have the enitre original 12 issue limited comic book series from DC comics that came out in the 80s written by famed writer Alan Moore who also did V for Vendetta and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen series. Watchmen is a huge movie event to be released next year. Don't miss it!
Thanks MayuSatomiJuRei for the song info. I have been dying to figure out the name of the song! |

I love the way how it looks so different from all the other crap thats been coming out. |
i know nothing about this comicbook, but i know of its positive popularity.
well. one thing that makes Alan's characters interesting is that they are not specifically Heroes. |
Man everytime I see Watchman adverts in the movie theaters I want to see it even more.
Too be honest I don't know the whole story but it just looks so epic! I mean yeah it'd be helpful to know what Watchmen is really about, but atleast I'm into it enough to want to go see it, right? I'll probably go with a group of friends that also want to see it. Looks epic anyways~ |
This movie looks simply amazing! I can't wait for it to come out.
|
The Watchmen is based off the 12 comics by Alan Moore - Rorschach {guy with the ink blot mask} is investigating the death of The Comedian {hot guy with the gun who you see get thrown out the window and standing in the battlefield with the cigar - played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan}
I suggest you all read the comics because you'll be in for one hell of a surprise when you see a few things that happen in the movie. |
lol, no time to read all the comics
i'll just check out Fansites and Wiki lol i kept reading about a Giant Squid...so i will investigate that i dont mind being spoiled, it means i can see what lead up to moments. yeah for blue penors |
There are sexual references/themes in the comics so be prepared, I'm unsure if they'll be in the movie, but if they are, you'll see why towards the end.
|
I haven't read Watchmen (thought my friend keeps insisting me to) but the trailer definitely caught my attention so I'll probably watch it when it's in theaters.
|
am i the only person who is incredibly worried about it? i mean league of extraordinary gentlemen: awesome comic, horrifically terrible movie. V for vendetta: ridiculously amazing comic: movie sucked in comparison... i mean that's a huge improvement but do you really think they can ever take an Alan Moore graphic novel and truly do it justice?
i will see it, but im worried, not excited. |
I hang out with nerd-guys, and currently, their favorite obsession is the Watchmen comic... They all own it, and they've all read it at least once. :P
I've stolen it once or twice for a few minutes to glance at it, and it looks interesting. I'm not sure if it's something I'd watch, but chances are I'll go see the movie anyway so that I know what the heck they're all talking about when they obsess over the Watchmen movie for three weeks like many women are obsessing over Twilight. :P |
I have to say Spooky, you hang out with nerdy guys too? I hang out at a table on campus dubbed the "FLASH table" FLASH standing for Fantasy Literature Anime Sci-fi and Horror, these guys argue for hours about the tiniest little thing. and dont mention x-men that argument will last for weeks. I have had the chance to witness this. it is pretty funny. They seem to be fifty-fifty on the matter of will it be good or not and have all read it. Some say "yeah im so excited, and since they have been better representing Alan Moore recently then previously, maybe this one will actually do the comic justice" and others say "yeah right, as if they could ever do justice to an Alan Moore comic".
I think they are why I am so surprised everyone here seems to be simply excited about this release as opposed to worried about a good graphic novel going to waste on the big screen again. |
Oh, cool! : O There's finally a trailer out for the movie...I have the comic book for Watchmen, so gritty, and pretty sweet. I loved how the story was told and enfolded in the comic. Pretty interesting characters too...I wonder how the movie will turn out. : ]

I cannot wait any more for this movie!!!
I hadn't read the comics before seeing the preview, but when I saw it I begged a friend to lend me her copy and it was amazing! And it doesn't look as shitty as some stuff recently, so I hope that it comes out well. |
The trailer's been out for a while :) They only just released the second trailer but it's amazing. I'm worried that they'll ruin the Comedian {I love him}, he's got no moral's or regards for human life; and especially with what he does towards the beginning of his career. I just hope they don't tone down the movie so it's like PG rather then being M as it is gory and has a fair few sexual references. They chose The Comedian & Rorschach's actors well, I'm not so sure about Nite-Owl {Patrick something, guy who played Raoul in Phantom Of The Opera}. The fight sequences look good and so do the flashbacks of Eddie {Comedian} in 'nam.

Is this a good thing, or a bad thing?
Fox Wins Back Watchmen Rights! Judge Rules Against Warner Bros! http://www.comicbookmovie.com/watchmen/news/?a=5679 |
I'd say bad, because Fox dropped the movie and now they SUDDENLY want it back >.> I think they just want the money seeing as Zack Snyder ALWAYS does really good movies.
|
i've read and i really can't wait for the movie. i was dreading the trailer, as always with adaptations, because i don't want things ruined! still... so far so good!
|
I agree with Dementes. Honestly. I am so worried that they are not only going to ruin the plot but in agreement with davyjoneslover, I am terrified they are going to ruin the comedian or even Rorschach, who was my favorite character. I love the backstory to him and how gruesome it is and if they numb it down for TV and children I will be terribly upset! I mean they didn't fail miserably with V for Vendetta but they did for League of Extraordinary gentlemen. so I don't know if this one will be a total bust or a complete success.
I nervously await its arrival and am too afraid to get any more excited then that. |
I bought the graphic novel after I saw the trailer and I am so excited! Although I don't really like how they modernized Laurie's (The Second Silk Spectre) costume. It just looks...weird.
Also, I heard something about how the ending is a bit different, but I won't post it here because of spoilers. You can PM me though. :) |
I've been wanting to see this since I first heard it was going to be made into a movie. The preview looks pretty amazing!
|
Does anyone know what the problem with Fox is? I guess as long as the movie still comes out when it's supposed to it shouldn't be a big deal but it's kinda worrying :I
