The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

With the 3rd installment of the recent Mummy Series just out in theaters, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was no match in overtaking The Dark Knight Batman sequel in sales and viewership. I haven't seen it yet but plan to in the coming days. Are you planning to see it or have you seen it already? What do you think about this sequel?

I also have yet to see it, but it sounds pretty interesting. xD When I noticed the dragon part I was more inclined to see it... :ninja: *coughslikesdragonscough* Though, the other day I came across a rating guide on the maturity and violence/gore in the new Mummy movie. X__x; Hearing how many people are killed, tortured, ripped apart, run over... :XD; It detered me a little bit. Though, the other Mummy movies had their own share of "shocker" and "ew" factors. Plus I did see the Dark Knight movie, and I bet anything it would just equal the violence in that. D.K. had its own share of explosions, hangings, murders, uh... pencil tricks.. xDDDDD; *dies*

I shall ask Mr. Rockin how the movie is once he goes to see it. 8D Hehehe. <3

I've not seen it yet, probably will over the weekend.I read reviews about it,seems people are split, half hate, half love.I'm kind of reserved on it,I think its great they brought back Rick and Jonathan, with the original actors, not sure bout the new Evie though.Or the grown up Alex. I have to say I am disappointed that Arnold Vosloo, think thats how its spelled, isnt in it.But I totally understand they took on an Asian theme this time.Still,he was THE mummy as far as I'm concerned lol.And I am bout to bawl over no Ardeth Bay.Cant be a Mummy w/o Oded Fehr!!! I'm trying to reserve judgement til I at least see it,thru my mourning of Ardeth tears..haha!
I kinda wish they woulda kept the story in Egypt, but I'll try to be fair anyhoos.

I'm not going to go see it in theaters because seeing it on the big screen will really magnify the experience >_> but I will see it sometime. I still want to see it XD

A friend of mine went to go see it and said he loved it ... then again even if he didn't I probably would have gone to see it *lol*

Though I have been hearing mixed reviews about it ... most have been more on the positive side rather than negative ^^

I was going to go see this, but bought a hamster instead. Maybe I can go on Sunday when my husband gets back from his trip. I love the mummy movies. But not the one with the rock in it. I didn't even go to that one, the CG look horrible in the teasers.

I've seen it.

What do you think about this sequel?
I think it was creative, nail bitting, and exciting. I liked it. The first two may have been better. I think it's because the thrid one was focusing to much on speical effects, and animation. But please don't get me wrong the animation was really beautiful, but it wasn't really needed throught out the film. If you liked the first two movies you might even fall in love with the thrid.

When the first movie came out, I remember I was so excited to see it. At the time, I was very into Egyptian history and culture, so the movie was a must see. Even when the second movie came out, I was still pretty excited to go out and see it. But this time around, I can honestly say I have no desire to see it. Sequels usually aren't as good as the first, and to me, this film doesn't seem like it'll satisfy me. Maybe because the mummy isn't Egyptian, I don't really know.

I don't think the movie will be all that good, I wish they would have stayed in Egypt, maybe go into Nubia or something, but China? And I just think it will be like a martial arts movie with Egyptologists. ....I dunno...

I haven't seen the latest Mummy movie. In fact, I just finally watched the first two about a week ago.

However I do want to see it, but probably will wait till it comes out to rent.

Well my mom and I are planning on seeing it, mostly due to the actor for the mummy for this one, that and we both have seen the other two and it has been quite some time since I've heard a thing for the Mummy series.

I've seen it, it had very fun special effects and stuff, but two things sorta dinged it for me.
The son, who I wanted to slap around quite a bit, and the change of acctressess for the female lead. She just wasn't AT ALL as good an actor. She came across as very flat, boring and unconvincing, you just didn't get any of the great vibe between her and her ic husband that you did in the first two films. It was a very poor choise of re-cast.
That being said, it was fun, and worth watching if you aren't expecting 'epic'. But it doesn't really live up to the first films.
I mean I'm sure someone will disagree with me but thats what I think.

That and the whole thing about the Dragon Emperor clearly beign evil for trying to unite a bunch of waring clans seemed slightly steriotyped. Then again, I've never watched Mummy with any expectation that they were going to do some earth shaking over turn of a Holywood plot standard.
