Penn & Teller: Bullsh*t!
Lately, I've started watching this Penn & Teller series online. I've absolutely fallen in love with it!
Each episode, the two comedians do their best to de-bunk an element of modern culture by exposing the frauds and charlatans behind it. Psychics who (supposedly) talk to the dead, for example, alien abductions, feng shui, and the idea that listening to Mozart will make your baby smarter are all featured. While the entire show is very entertaining, I'm surprised at how well they manage to put together their evidence. It doesn't exactly reach the level of Mythbusters, but they've interviewed some very credible sources. The mixture of comedy and serious discussion is perfected. They actually almost succeeded in changing my mind about second-hand smoke. Spoons: Ever seen the show? What's your favorite episode? What piece of BS do you wish they had attacked? |
I use to watch it back when I had cable. One of the few shows I actually enjoyed. Been so long though I couldn't give ya a specific favorite episode.

I don't get Showtime on my television, so I've never been able to actually watch the series air. I just happen to watch clips and episodes on my computer whenever I can I find them.
If you want to give your memory a little nudge, the Penn & Teller Wikipedia Page does a pretty good job of describing the show. Their more popular topics are listed on the page. |
haaa~~ I watch it when I ever I can catch it. It airs every now and then at 11oclock or something on a week night. I can't work out why or whey they actually put it on, but I jump on it when ever I notice it in the TV guild or while channel flicking. I haven't watched enough recently to name a fav episode, but the one remember quite well was either a recycling or naturalist ep. I loved it, mostly because I just have a mild hatred for over the top environmentalists. I need to add Penn & Teller to my list of 'Need to watch again' shows~ |
I try to catch just about every episode that I can get. I used to have showtime but then my mom stopped paying child support and the family had to go down a notch and now I must desperately search the internet. My favorite from what I have seen was the one on Nuclear Energy, incredibly informative and I just enjoyed them at work.
