"A Haunting" is a wonderful show and helps to inform people about the paranormal. "Ghost Hunters" is a great show, but nowadays fake stuff is being added by Sci Fi in just to keep the ratings up; the TAPS team seems to not be very fond of it just by the expressions they have on the shows. The team itself though is amazing. "Most Haunted" is the definition of fake. I have yet to see "Ghost Whisper" though so I have no comment on that.

As for shows about psychics and mediums performing their skills, it is hard to call unless they are world renowned for their contributions or completely fake.

Finally~ I was reading the thread and wondering why no one had mentioned it yet. xD D Supernatural is definatly my favorite paranormal drama~ Actually I think its my favorite drama period. xD

I used to be a huge Charmed fan, until the death of Pru. After that, I the plot started going haywire, and I haven't gotten back into it. Angel was also a huuge part of my life. I'm trying to get a copy of the seasons to watch again. :3

I've tried to watch ghost hunter shows, but most of the time I just can't. Their too...showy I guess? I haven't heard of this T.A.P you guys are talking about, but I will check it out. :D

T.A.P.S. is the name of the group that the people on Ghosthunters belong to. There are regional T.A.P.S. groups that they work with on some of the investigations.

What's the name of the show from the UK that has the woman who is always freaking out and screaming? They usually have someone who presents the historic info and then a medium or two. Usually a seance. Always has people completely freaking out on it though. I swear I cannot drink coffee and watch that show at the same time. The anxiety is funny, but way too startling for me!

I love the show Medium. I don't know any of the characters' names but Allison's since I'm terrible with names, but I love the main family, especially her husband and adorable middle and youngest daughters. I love crime shows and mystical elements, so it's right up my alley.

Speaking of which, is Medium still going on or has it been canceled? I need to find that out so I can know if I need to move on and find a new favorite show.

That one is Most Haunted. They're a bit too fake, especially after their live episode last October. I still watch it when nothing else is on, though.

@ First - I saw that episode too! It was so crazy. I do love the history that they throw in there though.

Yeah, the history is nice. What I didn't like about the live episode, though, was that they told a lot of the history at the beginning of the show, and then, the local "psychic" they brought in, was saying the same information but like he didn't know it before, like he was getting it through his psychic abilities. I didn't watch their whole live investigation.

I love Ghost Hunters' live investigations, though. I loved seeing Elijah Burke gets scared in their 2007 live investigation. Then, their 2008 investigation actually made me like Miz. His cockiness makes me laugh so much. It kept me entertained and watching it until 2 AM or whenever it went off. I think they may have made him leave, though, because he seemed to be annoying them with his constant talking about himself and how great he is and how much of a chick magnet he is. Funny stuff. I'm a wrestling fan, though. So, non-wrestling fans may not enjoy those parts as much as I do.

Ghost Hunters would have to be my all time favorite para show. I love how they go in trying to debunk everything, they don't automatically think its haunted because of the reputations certain places get. *hugs T.A.P.s*

I was watching Haunted Homes on FLN this weekend (why a paranormal show is on the fine living network is beyond me) and thought it was a bit like Ghosthunters because of the debunking elements of the show and Most Haunted because they have mediums and kind of a touchy-feely element to the show.

Was wondering how shows like this may have affected your perspectives on paranormal activity?

lol when I was a kid I used to love watching... oh what was it called... "So Weird" on disney X3 I adored it actually as a child for some reason. That along with any of those "scariest places on earth" type shows. They were always interesting to me though I never believed in them at all, not a bit. lol I was never a very supersiciious kid when I was little.

The Paranormal and paranormal related shows I've seen are: Ghost Hunters, So Weird, Ghost Whisperer, Paranormal State, Medium, and Most Haunted.

I remember the first paranormal related show I had watched was So Weird. It was a favorite of mine. But once it got canceled I stopped watching the reruns. Then I got into Ghost Whisperer by its second season. I then got into Ghost Hunters by its second or third? I watched 'Most Haunted' and that was just waay too fake. The one thing I don't like about Ghost Hunters is the fact they have to put the dramatic music every time something went 'bump'. I always ended up rewinding it and playing to hear it.

Ghost Whisperer was a good series but after what they did. (Not going to spoil it if someone hasn't watched the series) I swear now they have just complicated the series by trying to tweak the characters. I believe ratings went down after what they did. XD

Parnormal State - is pretty good...
