What is your favorite Paranormal Shows? Compare to other shows.
My favorite Paranormal show would have to be The Ghost Hunters or short T.A.Ps. Love them!! I think this show is very important to the paranormal field and help people understand not all things that go bump in the night means that your house is haunted. The show doesn't look situp to me. Because there were cases where they find nothing and is it very rare to find a show that doesn't always find a place to be haunted.
Compare the most haunted they been around many years now, but they still scream and run away when something happens and what is up with the camera , Its always faceing up their noises and not in front of them. Plus 100% of all their cases they say is haunted..to me most haunted is like a copy of the movie "The blair witch project" People screaming and running away in the dark, But see nothing.. |
I love Ghost Hunters. In fact, i'm wearing a TAPS shirt right now. ;D Before Ghost Hunters, these sort of programs were all voodoo and fun house. I love the paranormal and very much do believe in ghost, but i've come to really appreciate that TAPS goes in there to debunk. I like their scientific approach and think they should be held up as the standard.
And I agree with Most Haunted. I like the show, been watching it for years. But sometimes they are pretty unprofessional. They're supposed to be investigators, but they scare so easily and I hate when they want to leave when something significant starts to happen. I also wish they wouldn't react as strongly as they do. Y'know, you, the person at home, are trying to listen for noises and stuff, and it's all muddled by the bleeping from their repeated cursing. ... *laughs* Hearing me rant, you wouldn't know that I still like the show. ... Now to be all modish... This topic is better suited to the Media forum so i'm going to be it there now. |
I love Ghost Whisperer. And I've only seen half an episode, but I liked Charmed, too.

Is Buffy the Vampire Slayer considered paranormal? If so, I liked that and City of Angel.

I watch Ghost Hunters, Most Haunted, A Haunting, Paranormal Egypt, and others that come on the Travel Channel and such.
Ghost Hunters seems the most legitimate. I love how scientific they are about everything. Most Haunted seems really fake. I was watching their live investigation last Friday... The guy told them on camera what houses they were going to, who died there (the Jenny girl), and everything. Then, the "psychic" comes up with the name, and they act like it was amazing. Hello, he was told about her at the beginning. I couldn't watch it after that. That Ghost Adventures show that's coming on tomorrow night looks like it might be interesting. I'm going to watch it. |
I love Ghost Hunters but I cannot stand Most Haunted since its pretty fake. One in a while I'll watch A Haunting if I catch it in time (my mom likes to watch this show).
I'm probably gonna watch Ghost Adventures since it does seem rather interesting. |
I came across one last night while flipping channels called Psychi Hauntings or something... where a team of 3 people visit a crime scene/house and tries to get further along with the cold case, etc. I liked it last night a lot.

For me I like all type of paranormal shows. Like Monday I watch A Haunting and Paranormal State and Wen. I get to see Ghost Hunter, but can't wait for the 7hr Live of Ghost Hunter this Halloween night. ^__^

My favorite paranormal show (even though it's not on any more) has to be X-files!! For several reasons. It has suspenseful episodes, horrific episodes, funny episodes, sad episodes, touching episodes, and of course most importantly to the paranormal genre downright friggin' creepy episodes. It evoked all these emotions from its viewer just as a great tv show should. The characters were fantastic (and I've always thought Fox Mulder was a hottie) and really well-written. The chemistry between Mulder and Skully was undeniable. Blah, I miss that show. T_T
(Don't watch the movies!!!) |
I love Ghost Hunters (GHI too for that matter), A hunting ( the story's just fascinates me.) and Ghost Adventures (because I've seen his one documentary which was pretty epic)
I also enjoy Ghost Whisper when I catch it on TV. : D |
I love many paranormal shows. My favorite however would be Charmed. I've watched it since the beginning with Prue to the ending with Piper and Leo as an old couple. The plot, characters, and takes on old fairy tales and monsters is quite entertaining to watch. I also was a pretty big fan of the X Files for awile. I'm not sure if this counts as paranormal but Tru Calling was also good. Tru Calling and Charmred were my ultimate shows watching TV. Angel was also a pretty good show.

Ghost Hunters. Is always a favorite for moi. I also love Scariest Places on Earth, A Haunting, and Paranormal State.
I really don't know of many others unless you wanna get into the fiction ones like Charmed and Angel or Buffy. I mean I like Angel and Charmed but they're more ficition cause the first three are reality shows of sorts. |
Most Haunted is extremely fake. They ALWAYS find evidence and that's just way too easy for them for it to be real.
Ghost Hunters is far more belivable. But they did admit once that a couple episodes were faked because Sci-Fi channel said they were losing ratings. But since that, they haven't faked anymore because TAPS threatened to pull from SciFi and move to Travel Channel. Haunting Evidence is way cool. I usually am very skeptic about psychics and I rarely believe them but some of their cases, they actually came up with evidence that helped police solve the cases they were working on so I'm starting to get into that one a bit. Ghost Adventures is pretty awesome but I'm still debating if it's real or not. I've seen all of their first season and some of it just seemed too hokey to me, but that's just my opinion. That new one with David Accora, I hate it. That man is no real psyhic. Heck, the Most Haunted team called him on it when they found out he was talking to the people who ran the places they went to ahead of time to get all the information he needed. He was proven to be a fake and that's why he was replaced. That man is a fraud and an insult to anyone who has any type of psychic ability. It makes people lose their faith in those who actually do possess the gift. |
My favorite would be Ghost Hunters.
I also love Paranormal State. |
Ghost Hunters is my fave! I just love the crew. They were actually in our town last year at one of the restaurants/bars we go to and a residential home. It was awesome.
|
@The Volturis Lover ~ :O Neat-o!
They were in the city I live in too, investigating a local attraction. Of course, I didn't know until the episode aired. ;-; If I knew there around, I might have wanted to go down there and stare at them from across the street like a weirdo. ... ;P |
Ghost Hunters = <3333 D:
|
@ Captain Howdy Same here. I heard about it after they were done filming. I totally would have stalked them. Lol.

i love supernatural the most!!
as compared to ghost whisperer ( i think those two is the only paranormal tv show that i watch ) ..why? because supernatural has its own identity, with dean's funny act ^^ ghost whisperer is nice too, but sometimes it gets too romantic ( which i hate ) or too boring ( the patern is sort of the same to me ) |
Ghost Hunters, hands down! I love the international version as well. Some of the sites they go to have been investigated by other paranormal programs, and it's interesting to see how the GH/TAPS crew debunk some of the stuff (like at Dracula's Castle).
The uni I went to had a paranormal psych program in the 70s, and we'd sometimes here things about what they uncovered. It was definitely not what one would call scientific methodology at work, so it's been interesting to see how science (now) is explaining a bit more about what goes "bump" in the night! |

... And thinking of it now, the Most Haunted team has been to my city too. |
I guess I should add John Edward Cross Country to my list. I think psychic mediumship is paranormal... I love that show. It makes me cry all the time. Especially one of the newer episodes, the woman's son had died, and her son's friend had died just a few weeks before he did. At her son's funeral, his friend's sister went up to his mom and said, "I now know why (my brother) had to die. Because (the your son) could never be alone." It was so sad. Oh, and the episode where Cindy Campo wrote the soul song contest winner a song for her son. That song makes me cry every time I hear it.

I like ghost hunters, it scares me a lot sometimes. To the point where I have my hand on the remote. But, really, these guys are just amazing. They actually find people, and go to places where people have died.
Like the episode with the mining or oil area. That freaked me out when the kid was slapped by the ghost, but it's those type of things that make it seem real. I can see what you mean about the show overall, GothicGypsy. It's entertaining though, which is what is the cool part. |
