Is it just me...
Or is it annoying when they show Christmas media. TOO early. I mean, Thanksgiving hasn't even passed and they're already showing Christmas movies. It's not just me is it?

1. Thanksgiving is different in Canada and the USA.
2. Christmas crap plays year round but usually hits HARD right before or right after Halloween every year. 3. Yes it is annoying seeing all the same crappy reruns just to make people watch Christmas shows and be CHRISTMAS HAPPY! |

It's not my favorite holiday (those would be New Year's and July 4th.) However, I think you're just watching the wrong programs because on home channels they have a TON of thanksgiving shows. It's just really hard to sell shows based on puritans for regular tv, I would imagine. |
It does annoy me to a certain extent when they play Christmas movies so early, especially since I've seen all the Christmas movies about four billion times, but I like when the radio stations start Christmas carols way too early. :P Those are fun to listen to.
But, back on the subject of Christmas movies... I like watching them in the week or two before Christmas, when I'm really starting to get into the holiday spirit. At that point, I don't care how many times I've seen them. But when it's too early... then they just get on my nerves. |
LOL me and my dad were listening to Christmas music driving up to my aunts house for Thanksgiving...
yeah, its a bit of a rush. but then you get the idea that stores, media, and businesses work on an entirely different schedule than us average citizens. |
Ya it can be annoying. I hate when its Halloween and I walk into a store that already has Christmas stuff. It seems that life goes by too fast when things like that happens. I do love Christmas though, I just don't want life to go by too fast.

I don't mind it. I love watching the sappy, happy ending Christmas movies. We watched them most of the day last Sunday as a family. This is my favorite time of the year.

I'm going to make my Christmas playlist in itunes today ... I think it's an appropriate day to do so ^^
I do hate it when some shops start putting their christmas stock out after Halloween over here - the UK doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving so we have nothing else to look forward to xD Except bonfire night on November 5th. n.n |
That's so true!!! They have th Shrek xmas special on tonight and I watched the Jeff Dunham one last weekend! It's just getting into December so I don't get the hype

I love it when they start showing Christmas specials early...I don't know why. It probably just gets me excited for it. I especially love watching the old Rankin-Bass christmas specials.

I like the Christmas specials. It gets me in the spirit, and makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside..haha. Seriously, I love the Christmas movies on TV. But what does get on my nerves sometimes is the Christmas songs that are released, they play it over and over again everywhere! It drives me crazy!

It doesn't really bother me too much because I don't watch TV very much, and the stuff I watch I record before hand so I get to skip the commercials for Christmas movies too.
I do like when they start coming on at a reasonable date though, because then I have a reason to watch some of my favorites. |
I agree - I hate it when they start Christmas stuff early. I actually think that that is the main reason why I can't find any enthusiasm for Christmas anymore - burnout. By the time December 25th finally rolls around, I'm so sick of months and months of Christmas stuff that I just want it over with.
It doesn't help that it seems like most Christmas-themed movies or tv shows seem to be propaganda for "the spirit of Christmas", which has become akin to believing in Santa. I don't watch much tv anyways, but all the similar themes make me even less inclined to tune in. |
I don't think it's annoying, I love when they start showing Christmas movies and specials early. Where I live they started playing Christmas music before Thanksgiving even started on two of the radio stations we listen to. Also right now those two stations are playing Christmas music non stop and it's the only music they're playing right now too. One station is an oldies station and the other plays today's music and stuff from the 80s and 90s too, but right now it's all Christmas every day till after Christmas.

DOnt mind much since I dont watch that much TV anymore, but sometimes it did suck I prefer to watch the new Christmas specials of the shows showing :P

Christmas.
Well, I don't know about movies and stuff, but one thing that is kind of annoying is the commercials... I mean, commercials are already annoying, but some stores and places started showing Christmas commercials before Thanksgiving, and they're still running them and I'm sure they're going to run them all the way up until Christmas, and I'm so sick of seeing/hearing them now. If they had at least waited until after Thanksgiving it wouldn't be so bad, but the ones that have been going on for over a month now are starting to get to me.

I'm talking Charlie Brown Christmas and that old Rudolph movie with Heatmeiser and Icemeiser or whatever he was called. I LOVED THAT MOVIE! (Me and my sister sing their song all year long, though... lol.) |
@ Spooky I love A Year Without Santa Claus! We break into their songs as well during random times of the year. My co-worker swears his daughter looks like heat meister when she’s mad. Lol.
But I agree, they are showing things way too early nowadays. But this year they really have to as the economy is doing so badly, they need to lure people in somehow. I miss all of the old cartoons. But I see they have a DVD box set out now with 10 old Christmas movies on it. I may just have to buy it and run a marathon of them. |
