I want to see coraline so badly but I might not get the chance to. My scheduling has been off a great deal with the things I want to do for fun.

I haven't read the book but my husband and I did go see the movie in 3d and it was wonderful ^^

Garnet Phoenix 02-23-2009 04:40 AM

I haven't read the book, nor seen the movie... But I would like to read the book before I see the movie... Too bad that by the time I get the book the movie will be out of theaters...

dark_tenshi17 03-09-2009 05:11 PM

The movie was cute. Not OMG GREATEST MOVIE EVER! But cute

(sorry for caps there lol)

Celestrya 03-09-2009 07:16 PM

Heh heh...I don't mind cap use as long as its not obsessive. XD I still havn't seen it, I wanted to see it in 3D but I just don't have the time anymore. I will most likely get to see it when it comes out on DVD. XD :(

I would have to say that my least favorite movie this year may have been coraline. Not that I disliked it, but I didn't like that it seemed like it was made to be a video game...

As though before the movie was made the producers made a deal with a gaming company or something...but maybe that is just how the book was? I dunno. I thought the animation was good in itself though. Plot-wise I thought it was sort of weak in originality.

Katurine 03-19-2009 10:21 PM

Watched it on Tuesday and liked it. I agree with dark_tenshi17 that it's not the BEST MOVIE EVER, but it was good. I think it pretty much did the book justice. Maybe except introducing Wilbie, or whatever his name was, and obviously changing/adding a few moments. I liked the animation, too.

:O You just reminded me, Katurine, that since i'm heading to the library tomorrow, I wanted to find Coraline. I'll make a mental note.

... Scratch that. I'll write it down. My mental notes are too easily erased. >_>

it doesnt look very good to me

I haven't read the book yet but I want to. I've been trying to find a copy of it but I'm having a hard time tracking one down. Considering the movie is out I would think it would be a lot easier then it has been.

I wanted to read the book before I went to see the movie, I ended up giving up on that plan.

The movie was fantastic. I saw it in 3D and I think it ended up making it even better. I loved the detail that they put into it.

Maggerz 03-26-2009 01:13 AM

Dude, that movie is flippin awesome! I've been trying to find the book, but to no avail.

Titania 03-27-2009 09:42 AM

it's a little ridiculous that you guys haven't been able to find the book.
i suggest the next time you go into a bookstore and they do not have it, ask one of the employees if they can order it for you.
that is what they are there for.

anywho, the movie (since this is the movie thread) was excellently executed.
although many aspects were different from the book, the movie by itself was very shiny and well-made.
as for it playing through like a video game, that is how the book was. not entirely, but the very basic plot worked a bit like a game.
the only reason the book did not feel like one was because it went into detail and thought, without visual, that you could not get from a video game.
