Dollhouse! :squee: Hooray Joss Whedon!
Tonight was the premiere of Dollhouse with the fabulous Eliza Dushku. This series is incredibly interesting in concept and visually. I adore this series already! And... ZAmy Acker (Fred from Angel) is on it. Nice surprise.
Spoiler Alert: If you haven't seen it , the idea is that people go to this center and get their personality wiped. They then become whoever the job demands them to be. Who has seen it? Like it? Not? Will you continue watching? (Sorry if I'm all over the place. I'm a bit excited.) |
Joss Whedon is relevant to my interests.
Dollhouse won't be on for another 15 minutes, but I'll watch it then. I hope Fox doesn't fuck up and cancel this show too. ): Also, I wish Summer Glau played the main character, or something. XD |
Summer Glau is already on the Sarah Connor chronicles. That would be awesome though.
|
MOAR SUMMER GLAU, I mean. XD
I liked Dollhouse though, it was interesting enough to keep me entertained, but not understanding things thoroughly is really annoying for me. I hope I know what's going on in the second episode. u_u |
I didn't watch it but I did DVR it. Is it really worth watching?? I have heard REALLY mixed reviews and don't know if I should even watch it.
|
I liked it, but I feel like it will be hard to get really interested in a show that doesn't have one set character to get attached to. You know, with her being someone different every episode. I still think it will be interesting though.
|
Yeah, but she has the flashbacks, so she's becoming herself more and more, probably. Also, it's just like any spy show. They change to suit the job. I also like that it's on Fox's way-reduced commercial program. That's probably what drew Joss Whedon, he always films too much.
|
I wasn't crazy about the first episode but I'll probably watch the next few to see if it gets any better. It felt like it was all over the place, and none of the characters seem particularly likeable. I agree with Risque, I would have loved to see Summer Glau as the main girl instead. I guess I do sort of like that one guy, umm... Topher or whatever his name is. I dunno, it might grow on me. So far though it's nothing I would really go out of my way to watch, but I'm already on that channel for Terminator anyway. |

He's probably going to be my new TV Crush. <_< |
Yup, him. He seems like he might end up being pretty cool. (And yeah, he's also really hot.)
|
it's only the pilot, of course they are going to throw
as much in as they can to draw people in. and of course your not going to know everything of what it's about, it's only been the first episode, give it time. i'm sure as the show goes on it will become much more understandable. |
I really wanted to watch the premiere but couldn't make it home in time. I hope they give it enough time to get a fan base. If it's on fox, they are notorious for canceling shows before they even get a chance like Whedon's Firefly which has a huge fan following.
|
I'm so happy that Whedon has a new show, I can't wait for next Friday and a new episode. :D
|
Love it!
I mean I knew going in that it would be good. It is Joss Whedon. It cannot be bad. The man doesn't have the ability to make something that I won't immediately become attached to. I can't wait for next week to see more. |

And I hope they'll explain the personality-wiping process thing more clearly, does it have to be wiped multiple times everytime someone is assigned to a new job? o-o |

Okay I did like the 2nd episode a bit more. It was pretty interesting I guess. Although that guy was really scary and the end was disgusting. :gonk: Topher is so great though, oh man. |
...Wait, what part was disgusting? Do I forget what happened already??
Anyway I liked this one better too, even though dates now seem even more terrifying to me than they did before. And it was a little confusing at first, but it all pretty much made sense at the end, so I don't really mind that. I wonder if she's going to keep on remembering things about her past now or if that was just the drugs. |
When she stabbed him in the neck. :( Eww.
|
Oh yea, I guess that was pretty gross. :(
Gross enough to make me have bad dreams. |
the 2nd episode ran pretty smoothly, and i like
how there were flashbacks to help answer things i had been wondering about. and i'm really not enjoying dewitt's right hand man, his behavior towards echo towards the end was definitely out of line >.> |
I really like this show! oo and that was Fred!! I thought so!! ^__^ Yay! Although if this show was on at 10pm it would be getting skipped because my other show is on right after it. Fri night's ep was pretty cool. Felt bad for her body guard guy though! T^T And crazy people freak me out x.x

I watched the first episode of dollhouse and thought that it was great. I am sure though that it could be better. I am sure that they will explain more of what is going on as time passes. I had to record the second show and i have yet to watch it. I am hoping it was just as good.
|
Well, I still haven't seen the first episode(I'm planning to watch it onine with my sister when she gets home later)but I recorded the second and watched it last night. I'm going to have to watch the first one to fully understand, but I think I have the general idea. And...I think I like it. I'm definitely wanting to keep watching it. My sister has said that she is really interested too.
Yeah, I love that Amy Acker is in it. I saw her and I shouted, "Fred!!" Luckily no one else was home at the time... |
I watched the first episode, but I was heavily distracted during it. It seemed like an interesting concept, but it's going to have to get more complicated than her having a complete different personality every new show to keep me interested.
I'm a huge Joss Whedon fan, so I'll definitely keep watching (online). The only thing I don't like that Joss Whedon has done so far was Angel (and Roseanne if you count that, but I don't). |
