Beyonce's Nintendo DSI commercials.
Is it just me, or is Beyonce too cute in her first Nintendo DSI commercial?
Tonight, I saw different one. There was a kid, and he looked like the little smart dude from "My Wife And Kids" [I think that's the name of it.] Not sure who he is or why he was in the commercial, but Beyonce is what's making the commercial shine in my eyes lol. Anyone agree? |
I'm guessing that's why they used her.
Just so you'd by it. Maybe. |
I don't like her all that much... but I like that the DS commercials tend to include celebrities that that appear natural - relaxed, dressed casually, wearing little makeup.
That having been said, the game she plays in the commercial looks like it's made for a target audience under the age of twelve, so I'm not sure why they picked her to play it. Honestly, she looks way too amused by it. |
Isn't she playing Rhythm Heaven.
I've been kinda interested by that game. ... >_> |
Yeah, I saw them.
I like the expressions she makes. That goes for pretty much all the other DS commercials with Celebs. I especially like the one with her nephew. Though I think it would have been more appropriate to have his mother (Bee's sister) Solange with him. Quote:

I wanted to make love to the tv screen...
|
I just bought the DSi..I like the camera and it's effects, but am seriously disappointed by the web browser. It's SSOOOO slow and I can't play mene Tetris on it:(
|
I like the commercials and it looks like she is having fun with the game she is playing, which is Rhythm Heaven. I want that game and it is due to the commercial, because the game looks fun. It's a game anyone can play, not just kids, that's why they have her playing it. I did wonder about the boy.
|
I like those commercials.
I think it's interesting seeing Beyonce play the games. That kid is actually her nephew. he's adorable >.< |
I love those commercials <3. I was surprised they got Beyonce to do it! I don't believe their target audience is just children. I think Nintendo is trying to broaden their audience as much as they can. But the faces she makes, are the faces that we all make when we play games. I don't know about you, but I make faces or start talking while playing a game that intrigues me. I've been thinking of getting Rhythm Heaven after watching the commercial. I remembered the commercial when I went to best buy and tested it out. It was entertaining.
I'm always excited to see the next commercial they put out from that company. I always wonder who they will get to play the DSi or DS on commercials. |
Showing people you wouldn't expect to be gamers draws in the same, those who aren't normally gamers. Nintendo likes to be accessible to the casual gamer. That's also a big selling point of the Wii, it's something that even your grandmother could pick up and have fun with. ... Like a rent boy down by the pier.
|
I'm a gamer and I know that I like playing some of these "casual gamer" games as well. They might be trying to mainly get the attention of casual gamers but people who have liked Nintendo for years still can enjoy the Wii. If a game is entertaining then people will want to play it. I also know my Mom wouldn't even try to play on the Wii, so I doubt all that many old people play the Wii.

I freakin love this advert.
I even showed it to my mum because I thought it was that funny ... the bit with the monsters and she makes an 'argh' noise/face. xD Makes me want to go out and buy the game so it does it's job. :P |
Lol, that ad makes me laugh, because they've tried to make her look as plain and ordinary as possible, despite the fact that she's absolutely caked in foundation. She looks weird
|
I think she looks nice, they tried to make her look more natural. It seems they can't go without putting makeup on everyone on tv.
|
To me, the commercials seemed really awkward. Beyonce is normally a diva when you see her on TV but having celebrities promoting Nintendo DS? It just kinda loses its point when you've got a target audience usually being kids.
|
well, she's ok, but the first time I saw that add, there wasn't a kid in it so I found it kind of creepy that she was biting at the DSI and such lol But, once the kid was added I was like "oooohhhh...now that's cute" haha
|
Well I got the game being advertised in the commercial, as an early birthday present. It's different and not as easy as it might seem. I don't think it would be all that easy or interesting for kids to play. I also saw another DS commercial for this game with another actor. It was a cute commercial as well, though not as cute as the one with Beyonce.
|
Admittedly I do think the advert looks relatively natural I liked the idea of the casual clothes and natural makeup which people picked up on but I don't know, I just think she's having a little too much fun playing that game really. I just don't like the way that she laughs and talks along with the game just seems a bit too 'put on' for my likings and therefore takes away the natural element of the advert for me. |
Yeah, I agree.
I thought she was super cute in that one commercial, and I was too busy wondering what the hell she was doing to even figure out what was actually going on in the commercial. xD |
I think the faces/sounds she makes in these commercials are the faces and sounds gamers like to think they make when they play - all cute and lovable, just like Beyonce!
RRRRRR! No. I love my DS, but when I'm really into it, I mutter to myself and my brow gets all pinched up. Not adorable. Not cute. Also, not totally fake. |

I don't see a problem with that. |
@Bunai - Yeah, they are human as well. Some even like to make their own games.
|
I think she looks really beautiful in the commercial.
