farrah fawcett died today
Today Ferrah Fawcett lost her battle with cancer. I think it's sad for someone to die that way and at the young age she did. She was a different kind of woman and very pretty. Anyone else have any thoughts about her?

I'm knew she wasn't doing well, I just didn't expect her to lose her battle for some reason. And listening to the news right now, I feel doubly bad because they've been talking about Michael Jackson's death for the past 15 minutes and haven't even mentioned her.

It is unfortunate that her passing is being overshadowed by Michael Jackson's. Her death may have been a bit more expected, though, and Michael Jackson's seemed so sudden. While they are both cultural icons, Michael Jackson may be a little more famous as well.

This, too, is weird for me, maybe because Farah Fawcett is a cultural icon, too. Less popular then Michael Jackson but she did mold a lot of young boys in the 70's lol.
Yeah, ktbeel, I agree. Her death's more expected though because we know she gets sick a lot. Add to the fact that she's 60 plus years old, it's not surprising. My uncle says that Michael's too young to die. And here I thought 50 years old is really... old. o.o. |
I'm not all that familiar with Farrah Fawcett (hell, I wasn't even aware she HAD cancer until she died... I pay little attention to stuff like that) but it really made me kind of sad to see how overshadowed her death was by Micheal Jackson's. The news show I watched had about a half hour of 'Yeah, Micheal Jackson made good music' (before I shut it off, anyway) and two seconds of 'Farrah Fawcett is dead.' :[
Of course, he seems to be getting the most media attention out of anyone in the Celebrity Death Spree. |
