(i know this thread was made a month ago, but i rather post here then start a new thread)
i just got back from seeing the movie and i thought it was good. there were funny parts and then there were really scary parts as well.
i was hoping that we would actually see the demon but sadly we don't. you should go see it aned experience it.

I sew it yesterday, and thought is was good, and a little scary even. Nothing to pee your pants over though. When leaving the movie, I was satisfied.

My friend is talking about renting it when it comes out on DVD so we can watch it. Other than that, I don't really know much about it; I had never heard of it until people started talking about it online so much.

I'm never frightened by movies, though; I don't really understand why people are, when you know it's just fake. I'm kind of looking forward to seeing it if she does rent it, though; the paranormal is one of my favorite subjects.

I saw it yesturday and i can honestly say it scared me...and thats really hard to do

It is better to see it in theater..it would loose effect when renting it...

To me for a person who loves scary movies, it didn't scare me. Although it was an experience..and I am glad I watched it.

It wasn't really scary. The end was good though, but totally predictable. I'm still waiting for a new horror movie to really scare me...

KowBonez 10-26-2009 04:55 PM

I didn't find it scary, but that might be because I was sitting between my two friends who made me laugh the whole time. The fact that the theater was full of people screaming and jumping for no reason only made it more hilarious for me. Maybe if I saw it alone, or in a less crowded place, I'd find it more scary.

Thunder 10-26-2009 06:31 PM

My friend wanted to go see it really bad, but I got a feeling that it would be a waste of money. Basically, anything labeled 'scariest ever' or any variation of that usually sucks, in my opinion.

I'll rent it when it comes out.

Why would it lose effect to rent it, anyway? It seems to me like it would be scarier in a dark house, all by yourself or with a few others rather than in a whole theater full of people. xD

I heard that it has a really terrible ending. I haven't seen it. I'm kind of apprehensive because I don't like being scared! The BF wants to see it though, so he'll probably drag me along. ^^;

I just got back from seeing the movie. 'Tis pretty good and has some creepy moments, but it wasn't too horribly scary.

Tsukipon 10-26-2009 11:32 PM

I heard it gave grown people nightmares. I still haven't seen it yet!!!!
I am trying too OMFG. I want to be scared. I haven't been scared since the Strangers.

G.Ober 10-27-2009 07:31 AM

One amazing thing about this movie is that it was filmed for something like 11k, and since it's release has grossed over 60 million. Amazing!

Sizzla 10-27-2009 02:25 PM

Yeah, they're going to make bank off of it, like the Blair Witch Project. XD

Kole_Locke 10-28-2009 03:41 PM

I have heard so many people talking about this movie and telling me to go see it and that the version online has an alternate ending. I may break down and go see it Sunday. It sounds like it would be very interesting to go see.

Escapist 10-28-2009 07:41 PM

My friend was telling me that the night of the premier people had to keep leaving because it was so scary. Not sure how true that is. But I'd be interested in going to see it. I love the paranormal, even though it freaks the crap outta me! My boyfriend wants to go see it so he'll probably drag me along. T.T

ichigo8504 10-28-2009 08:48 PM

Haven't seen it, but it looks good. My sister saw it and said it was "okay". A lot of people said it was like the 'Blair Witch Project'. That movie annoyed me with the camera angles. I might see it, but my husband doesn't want me to see it, because I am pregnant. He is afraid I might miscarry.

Paranormal Activities?

I heard it was freaking scary, and I wanted to know if anybody watched it, and how it was.
Depending on what people say, I might go watch it. :o

pianochan 10-30-2009 01:51 AM

It's a complete disappointment. I don't recommend it.

You know... I went when it came out in Phoenix. We went to the midnight showing and the previews were all dark and scary and the audience was totally in to it. It was creepy but not scary. The last 5-10 minutes is the best part of the whole thing.

What I did like about the movie is that it didn't rely on special effects to scare those that it did scare. It was a play on your own imagination, since, let's face it, you can imagine much scarier things than go on in a movie since you know your own deep dark fears.

The audience I was part of was hyped and nervous. The second time I saw it with my daughter and we talked trash the entire movie.

It's worth a watch but pirate it if you can. If not, rent it when it comes out. I wouldn't pay full price.

My friend is like, begging me to watch it, also. But since I'm still a minor, I don't know how it's gonna work out, I'm thinking of watching it online, o_O
thanks for your input! :D

Fabby 10-30-2009 02:37 AM

My boyfriend and I were going to go see that. Luckily we don't have to waste money on it. I dunno, I've been hearing from a lot of people that it's a huge waste of time... but there's also a bunch of people who say it's TERRIFYING. Maybe I should watch it because I've already seen Where The Wild Things Are?

KowBonez 10-30-2009 03:16 AM

I watched it. Didn't think it was really that scary. It was a good concept, though. Just didn't deliver for me.

Ponta 10-30-2009 03:34 AM

There's a lot of mixed reactions on this movie...

However, one of my friends who I think is like, the queen of coming up with all things scary and terrifying, said that movie had freaked her out. She felt like she was going to have a heart attack. My other friend said the movie made her really jumpy and she wasn't sure if she could sleep that night.

I say, if you can find cheap tickets, go. I'm all about going to movies at matinee prices.

YuukiKuchiki 10-30-2009 05:40 AM

It was more creepy than scary, but the entire theater screamed at the very end and it was packed. I liked it and I would say don't go at night if your scared easily.
