In contrast with the 3rd movie (At world's end) the 4th (Stranger tides) was soooo much better. The 3rd movie just disappointed me but the 4th rekindled the love I had for the series.

When I first saw the Catechist guy I was like "omg hot" and then "lol hot catechist pirate guy LOLOLOL" [Catechist guy = the smexness.])

@Captain: Yeah. Jack looked cleaner in this movie, I was disappointed. No, seriously. And was it just me, or did Johnny seem less enthusiastic about portraying Jack, so it came across on screen?

Barbossa's plot twist was deeefffinitely interesting, but I was happy beyond explanation when he changed back into pirate clothing at the end of the movie. :D

I still dislike Penelope Cruz. Can't help it.

On the offhand, I think the fifth movie is going to be brilliant. So many plot twists were presented without answers in this movie, as you pointed out. Can't wait to see what they're up to.

@General: Did anyone else notice that there was little to no original music in this movie? That tweaked me off.

Saw the movie last night--it was a little bit long, but I liked it soo much more than the third movie. ;)
It's up there with the first one, imho. Those mermaids were the best!

I'm going to go see it on thursday. I hope I enjoy it as much as I liked the second one.*fingers crossed*

Am I the only one that loves the 3rd movie? xD It's my favorite of the four.

And I did notice that the music was the same, only thing different was Blackbeards theme. I'll have to look into the official soundtrack to see what's new and what's different. The music is always a big impression on me on everything, maybe that's another reason why I didn't like the 4th one as much.

@Captain: I positively love the 3rd movie! It's my absolute favorite. I just hadn't mentioned it here because everybody else was hating on it. Lol.

I think the music was really my biggest let down. I also didn't like how we didn't know what the frick was going on for the first half of the movie because we were just thrown into a plot that had happened before the movie.

I'm hopefully going to see number four tonight. XD I'm excited.

EDIT: Yus! Because I listened to heaps of criticism it was better than my low expectations. I think that's win. I really enjoyed myself watching it, but what was up with the lighting? I couldn't see what was going on in most of the fights! Maybe that was just my theater though.

So does anyone know what happened to the cleric at the end? Me and a friend were trying to work it out, but we're not sure.

I must say, even in 3D, the fourth film was a complete let down. *sighs*...not that I was expecting much after the rushed mess that was the third film.

Seriously...I don't understand why people hated the third film so much...

I didn't hate it, I just thought it would have been a good deal better had they paced it bit more. It started out well enough and then about halfway through turned into this mess of a headlong rush into chaos.

*sighs* So long to wait. But that's ok I guess.

It shouldn't be that long. They already have the script for the fifth one written. :)
