The Lion King
The Lion King is probably my favorite movie ever, lol. And in my opinion, the best movie. I'm 15 and still know everysingle word to it, lol. Alond with the second.
I don't really like the second all that much. It's like a chick-flick for Lions >.> And I absolutely hate 1 1/2. It ruined the series severely, haha. Any opinions? |
I remember seeing 1 when I was 4..and I loved it. It's probably my favorite Disney movie. Timon, Pumba, and Zazu were prettyyy funny. 2 wasn't nearly as great, but I still found some enjoyment..and I have yet to see 1 1/2.

I like Lion King, but I wouldn't go as far as to say I love it. It's a great movie, has a great story and animation and it's definitely one of my top Disney favorites, but again, I'm not in dire love with it.
I adored the Broadway play though (the actually on Broadway, not the traveling one), that I will say I loved. The recreation of it on stage was absolutely fantastic and I will even say it was magical. |
I agree with Erailea--the Broadway version of the film is amazing~ :D
|
Ahhh,I see. I've never seen the Broadway version.
And to brain storms, it's horrible. It pretty much ruins the storyline [for me it did]. It's really cheesy and stupid lol. I thought it was a little funny, but really it's horrid haha. |
The Lion King has always been my most favorite Disney movie. i always loved the songs in it. =^_^= the second was ok, but just not as good. i still like most of the music in it, tho. Lion King 1 1/2 was hilarious. i know it kinda ruined everything, but i love it. it's sooooo funny. my favorite part is at the end, when all the Disney characters are in the theater, and Pumba goes "Uh, Timone, i still don't do so good in crowds..."
|
I like the Lion King, I loved when my sister was a kid and we would watch it over and over again. I need to get a copy of it again so I can show it to my daughter. I love Timon and Pumba, I know the words to their song: Hakuna Matata.
I always cry when Scar kills poor Mufasa, it always makes me cry, I am a softie really. I have never seen the second or the 1 1/2 and don't really have any wishes to see it, I think I'll stick to good old number 1 thanks! |
Lol. Yeah, the theatre part was pretty funny.
And I used to watch it 24/7. I'd go to kindegarten then come home and watch it. I'd rewind it and watch it again. I did the same with the second one. That's how I still know all the words lol. I still watch to this day haha. |
OMG I watched that movie like every day when I was little. It used to be my FAVORITE but I haven't seen it in years.
I remember liking Lion King Two just fine, but of course it wasn't as good as the first one. Lion King Half was just a travesty of a film. If I wanted to watch two and a half hours of badly written camp I could just go and watch Pirates of the Caribbean two or three and it would still be much better. I reeeaaally didn't like it xD |
ah a good disney movie, one of my top fav. I even loved the 2nd one......the Lion king 1 and a half was alright too!
But OMG! The Broadway show of the lion king was so good it made me cry at the end! I found it funny that they even used songs from he 2nd Lion king movie! XDD I was happy I bought a Simba and Nala person plushie from it. Funny Story from the Broadway show: So it's at the end and I'm crying, but then my brother and I start hearing some people laughing and we're wondering why. So we looked around us and on stage, then we see two people (who have the birds on the sticks making them fly) and two fo the birds got stuck to each other and the people are just trying to make them come apart but tugging and everything, but also trying to make them seem like their flying to us. Then the curtain goes down but comes back up so the actors take their bow and everybody applauds them and the fact the when the curtains came up, they got the birds apart! XDD |
Lol, nicee. I've always wanted to see the Broadway show of it
|
I love the Lion King. Whenever I am having a bad day I watch the Lion King and it cheers me up. I have not seen the broadway play but I am hoping that one day I will get to see it. |
It's a nice movie, I recently read this though, http://www.kimbawlion.com/rant2.htm
It was originally an anime ;p Anime♥ |
I'm 19 and I still love it. I know all the words. I just recently watched the remastered version and it hurt my eyes. XD The colors seemed too bright, compared to the original.
|
I LOVE Lion King. I'm almost twenty and it is still one of my top movies ever (I listen to the soundtrack often). I still haven't seen 1/2 yet. Lol. But when 2 came out, I watched it about five times in a row. It's not as good as the first, but I loved getting another look into their world. Plus, the animation style is beautiful, in my opinion. :3

The lion king is my favorite disney movie ever! As well as my friends. Simba becomes such a great leader and father! The movie itself is great, I have to ass it to my collection when I get a chance. One and a half was not that bad, it still had Simba in it, I was pretty happy in the end.

I haven't watched Lion King in years!
I probably couldn't even tell you the names of half the characters in the movie. I remember watching 1 1/2 and not liking it. That's kind of what turned me away from Disney movies, in general. |
Lol, it was an anime?!
Hahahaa, I watched it two days ago, lol. Hmm the characters I can name off the top of my head is Simba, Mufafasa, Sarabi, Timon, Pumba, Scar, Nala, Nala's Mother [has no name?], Senzy, Bonzi, Ed, Rafiki [sp?], Zazu.. Hmmm, can't think of anyone else, lol. From the second: Kiara, Zira, Vitani, Nuka, Kovu, Nala, Simba, Rafiki [sp?], Timon, Pimba, Zazu.. Hmmm, that's it lol. |
I love Lion King! I grew up with it though so I'm so biases, though. I used to have all of the songs memorized. I only know Circle of Life, Hakuna Matata, and the king song now.
|
The Lion King came out when I was in the sixth grade...I loved it! It is still one of my favorite movies today. Although, they did bite off of Kimba the White Lion..aka King Leo in America...
lol also bit off Hamlet with the story line... the art is amazing though! I loved the video game for the SNES.. =3 |
I remember sitting in my room when I was little and playing the game for the N64 lol. I wish I still had it, lol. I could never get past the level where it was the "I Just Can't Wait To Be King' part, lol. I always had my sister help me with that. And then she'd play and everytime she'd pass the whole game, lol. I miss it hahaa.
|
Lol I used to like it when I was little. >w<
I watched it everyday too with my parents. Now my little cousin starts to watch it, and she makes me watch it with her =w= |

Wow hun, you sound like me lol Except I'm 18 XD |
Chica, I am pushing 2 decades and I can still play the entire movie visually in my head! ... Okay, maybe not so much. But I used to be able to. xDDDD I still love it though! It was my first favorite movie and still is. :) The second one was nice, not too over crowding the first. The 1/2 one I haven't seen... don't really want to. There is such a thing as "beating to a pulp," know what I mean? xD
Dude! Just remembered something!!! Do you guys have the lil action figures?!!!??!?!?!!! I have most all baby. I had a house fire last year and I had forgotten all about them. But the stuff that was recovered.... well.... guess what I found~<3 Pumba, timon, mufasa, scar(face) xD, simba, and that girl who I forgot her name... Liara? Or something like that? xDDD I even have the baboon! What's my boy's name? I dun forgot! My age is getting to make. -faints- |
I love Lion King! I even have it on my iPod. It's probably the only Disney movie that can make me smile the whole way through. Lion King 2 had interesting characters but focused too much on romance. I actually enjoyed 1 1/2. If you disregard all that is Lion King canon, it's a fun watch.
On another not, having never seen Kimba, I can only say that the picture similarities and a few similar concepts are a big shame on Disney's part, but as long as the story isn't exactly the same, both can be enjoyed by the audience. The fact that Lion King has not had any lawsuits against it is enough to make me shrug it off. I've heard Tezuka was a big fan of Disney, anyway. |
